Namine seemed surprised, if a bit scared, to hear Adeline mention Pitch. She figured that was pretty appropriate. The guy did kind of have a reputation for being cold and not very easy to approach. Adeline had to remember that nobody really knew him like she did. She saw a side of him that he never showed to anybody else. "Yeah. He's been helping me with my demon problem," she said. "He helped me understand what was going on, and how to handle it. Really, it's thanks to him I've come as far as I have." Adeline wasn't really sure what she would have done if she hadn't met Pitch. She remembered feeling so uncertain about her demon side, about herself. She had no idea what to do and was constantly living in fear. It was only thanks to Pitch that she was getting her demon side under control and could live a fairly normal life.

"I-I didn't know..."
She hadn't known that Adeline had sought out help. It made her feel a little guilty because there she was going on and on about her own problems. But she also felt terrible for being quick to judge Pitch for his obvious demon nature. She had been pushed to her limits of being around demons but that was no reason to be afraid of Pitch. He was a police officer after all. Police officers were good people.
"Thank you for helping me," she said softly.

Adeline gave a little smile. "Hey, what else are friends for?" If she could help Namine in any way similar to how Pitch had helped her, then she was all for it. Namine had a good support system going on. Adeline was sure that their combined efforts, along with her own, could help Namine get a little more confidence and not live in fear of Vanitas hurting her again. "Well, do you wanna look for anymore books while we're here?" she asked. She wasn't sure if there was anything else about memory-altering spells, but maybe Namine wanted to check out some other stuff too.

Namine shook her head. She had gone to the library specifically to find something. Anything to teach her how to use her magic properly. No more anxiety. No more time bomb. She had reading to do. She found herself smiling and holding the book Adeline had found a little closer. She supposed she hadn't quite wrapped her mind around the fact that she had people who truly cared. It pleased her more than she cared to admit every time someone declared they did care whether they said they were friends or were like Omar and opted for an outright adoption.
"T-This was my b-big project for the day." she said.

"Awesome. Wanna check these out and call it a day?" Adeline asked. She wondered if Namine was okay to get home by herself. She remembered her friend being anxious about that. Then again, she had come to the library on her own, so maybe it wasn't as nerve-wracking as it used to be. Adeline could relate to that feeling. Just leaving the house used to make her paranoid and she felt like she constantly had to watch her back to make sure Thrax wasn't going to pounce on her.

"Y-Yes." she said happily.
Namine smiled. It might not have gone the way she wanted it to, but she did feel better about the situation. It wasn't a cure all. She still had work to do before she had gotten any control over what she could do. Adeline had made a good point. She had worked really hard to get there. And she wasn't as panicked as she normally was. Small steps. She just had to keep making small steps and maybe she would be functional like Adeline someday. That was a good goal to have.
"T-Thanks for helping me." she said, probably for the millionth time.

"No problem." Adeline's smile broadened as she accompanied Namine to the check-out desk. Once the books were checked out, she headed towards the front doors. It wasn't terribly late, but she figured she might as well head back home. She'd check out some books for pleasure reading another time. Besides, she wanted to see if any books she had at home had any information on memory-altering spells. Any info would probably be helpful to Namine at this point. "I guess I'll see you around?" she said, glancing at her friend.

"Yeah, s-see you around." Namine said.
She held the book close. It wasn't going to be light reading but the things that were worth it were never easy. She knew she could make it home by herself. She made it to the library without any troubles. She also didn't want to put Adeline out any further. The young woman had already done so much to help her without asking for anything in return.

Adeline gave a smile before waving goodbye and heading off. She knew Namine controlling her powers would take a while, and it would take even longer for her to get some confidence. But Adeline was sure she could do both, if given enough time. She knew some people were just naturally shy. She wasn't expecting Namine to be like an extrovert. Even Adeline wasn't quite like that. But believing in herself was important, and it was something that had helped Adeline get through some of the difficult times in her life. If Namine could do that too, then maybe she could get better.
