Jacque was back in town, and was still in shock that his Father was gone . . . . maybe "gone" was not the right word, although "missing" was probably not the right word either. He rubbed his head, annoyed that he could not think, and everything seemed a bit fuzzy. He was dressed in his green suit, and hat inside the Magnoilia Flea Market, and staring at the various voodoo and hoodoo items, occasionally examining some that he might want. He hugged his arms around himself, still somewhat cold even though it was warm out, thinking, "I thought I gave her a clue of where to meet me?" He started to search his coat pocket unable to find the cards he had drew for himself or his Father's Deck. "I wonder if giving her Tarot Cards was . . . ." He had given some Tarot cards to Elsa as an "Official Lawyers Document" as a joke that she takes her job too seriously sometimes. He groaned, checking his coat again, "This is a great time to not have a backpack or briefcase." he sarcastically sighed aloud to himself. Where had he put his Father's Tarot Deck?

Elsa frowned at the bottle presented to her. The glass vial was beautiful, but the scent...she had smelled gardenia oils before, and the underlying falsehood was sticking out through her nose. A sweetness that was almost pungent. She shook her head politely and left the stall. Why was shopping so...not relaxing for her? Most women would be mulling with bags flowing out of their arms. Not the icy-based lawyer with a pension for glittering, cold-colored dresses. But then again, she wasn;t here for shopping. She was here to catch up with someone she hadn't seen since law school. His calling card, which was not just a pun, was a literal tarot card. That and a pension for bright colors. She cleared her throat politely, holding out the crinkled depicition of Three Cups. "You called?"

"I called?" Jacque heard someone say, and hesitated for a moment, contemplating aloud, "Well, I did leave a 'calling card', but the chances of you giving me a ring on the a phone are slimmer than the fashion Dad and I choose wear...." Jacque paced one way, then the other until the the depiction of Three Cups was in his face. "Oh, it's a copy! Good I used a copy!" Jacque exclaimed with a sigh of relief, and then realizing who it was her heard he got excited. "Elsa? Els? Shopping!? You know how to shop?" Jacque looked from behind the card, to Elsa's face, and began to head over to her, entrap his arms around her, and hug her, but stopped short. Jacque then bowed holding out his right hand for hers, and uses left hand to gingerly take the Three Cups Card from her hand. "May I kiss your hand, and get a hug?" Jacque questioned.

Ah, typical Jacque. He was confused on greeting her properly. She shook her head with a small smile, lowering her hand from his grip and guiding them back to the hug position. "Just a hug will do," she answered kindly.

"A-a-ah hug? But...?" he hesitated questioningly, before Jacque decided it didn't matter. "But you're Els! You can't just get a get any normal hug!" Getting excited again, he went in for the hug, picking Elsa up, and spinning her two full circles, before setting her down on the ground again. "Sorry, I have some nervous energy that I haven't yet used." Jacque looked down slightly embarrassed. "I was going to use it to hang, and catch up with you." He cleared his throat nervously with a big smile plastered on his face.

The next thing Elsa knew, she was up in the air. A spin around was usually a romantic gesture, but Elsa...well, she didn't see him like that. Yes, they were law school students together, but that didn't guarantee a spot in the reality spot. "Well, what better place to catch up than here?" she spread her arms out when she was set, gesturing to the booths lined on Magnolia Road

"Of course, it's always a good place to be! Oh! While we are here, I want to buy you a pack of Tarot Cards as well!" Jacque was excited to be hanging out with someone for a while. It was a good distraction for him from thinking about his "Dad". Not that he planned on paying for much today anyway. But he wasn't used to hanging out with someone while stealing either "This should be interesting...." he thought to himself. Jacque started in a direction, slowly waiting on Elsa. "So how have you been? I have heard rumors, but I tend to let rumors fall to the wayside. I like to here it from the source." Jacque leaned over a bit. "Where do you law or use law or work rather? How are your co-workers treating you?" It felt odd for Jacque talk about work he didn't have to talk about since college with an old classmate.

Elsa's smile fell. Tarot cards. She wasn't a voodoo expert like Hacque. A gifted human was different than someone who used ingredients and fortune telling to cast spells. But, she followed him anyways, choosing to focus on his questions. "Well, I managed to get out of that Baton firm and start my own business. I work alone, for the most part. I focus on defending the Others Unit; if anyone needs protection, it's them. It's like the law is always against them."

He watched her smile fall, worried if it might have been something he said, but tried not to show it keeping his smile plastered. "Good for you! But didn't you always dislike that Baton firm anyway though? I never did understand why you chose to work with them in the first place." Jacque knew there were better firms Elsa could have work with. "Alone? Don't you want any help?" His smile fell into thought. Jacque could not help, but worry that working that way was not good for her social health. Although, when he heard it was for the Police Department he flinched. "You can say that again." Jacque's distaste for the police showed through slightly as he remembered his own record.

"Because I had no choice, Jacque! It was either Baton or going to the desert where I wouldn't veen last a day!" Elsa clenched her fist, fighting back the frustration building up in her. If she had lost control of herself for a brief moment, she would have sent ice into an innocent jeweler's cart. He meant well, but he didn't understand. She was also getting irritated of people constantly frowning upon her choosing to help the police. He might have been saying it to agree with her, but the dislike was showing. "And no, I don't need any help." She stormed ahead. "You made your choice, remember?"

Jacque's eyes widened as he listened to Elsa in realization, "You mean to tell me that you only got back two offers?" he paused scanning the vendors, "That can't be right . . . weren't you valedictorian or something?" Jacque questioned as he pocketed two pieces of jewelry from the jeweler's cart when the vendors and Elsa were not looking: set of skull and crossbones earrings and a set of snowflake earrings. Normally he paid for items that were designed like snowflakes, but this would be the first time he did not, and hopefully the only time. It had been a while since he had hung around Elsa, but he knew when he was making her angry or annoyed. Jacque was not trying to put her in a fowl mood or discourage her choice to help the police, but didn't know how she would feel if he were to explain his previous, and probably current theiving record. Especially with him going into a Law field. There it was. Jacque put a hand over his stomach. He could let go of the denial of help, but the choice of Law Firm comment made him sick to his stomach. "I thought we had settled this? Great way to be a friend!" Even some of their old classmates that were Others felt he betrayed them.
Jacque levitated a few centimeters of the ground, and caught up to Elsa as she stormed ahead. "Made my choice? I had worse grades than most of you ou back then so it's not like I was going to get many choices in the first place Snowflake! Think about it. Why would I ruin my Dad's plans?" Jacque started to lean in close to her face. He was trying to be civil, but he was quite irritated at his so called 'choice' effecting his classmates perceptions of him. "We both applied to that Baton firm, remember?" He had not used that nickname in a while with Elsa. Although he found it odd that he used it the more serious he got into a conflict with her.

"No that was Harvey Dent who was valedictorian," Elsa corrected. She hadn't even bothered to turn around. Harvey had been, well, an interesting classmate. Some days, he was picture perfect lawyer. Other days, he was a bloodthirsty monster than lunged out against those he called a friend or colleague. Needless to say the speech had been creepy.
Suddenly, Jacque was right in her face, levitating. She narrowed her eyes. Now both of them were ticking time bombs, anc turning it into a fight would be dangerous.
"Yes we both applied, but clearly none of us liked it." She shouldered around him to get him out of her face

"Oh yeah, Harvey. . . ugh! Most Uncomfortable Speech Ever... in like a million lifetimes." Jacque was not very fond of Harvey Dent, especially since Harvey was mad at Jacque for defeating him in a few Mock Trials by singing and performing his Cases. Jacque generally stayed away from his bullying with a few copies.
Jacque watched her eyes narrow, and sighing somewhat defeatedly, planted his feet on the ground. He did not want to fight with her. He knew he would never beat her. "I don't want to fight you Elsa because first off we are both Lawyers, and can settle this peacefully. Secondly, you would probably win against me." Jacque plastered his smile nervously back on his face.
Jacque let Elsa shoulder him out of her face. Slightly relieved, he pilfered a random ornate, wood door handle with his left hand, and quickly put it under his hat while the vendor was busy with other people. Then carefully watching Elsa, he put his right hand her shoulder. In a softer tone tried to reassure her, "Snowflake if they had accepted me to the Baton Firm, I would have gone with you even over my Dad's wishes."

Elsa wiggled out of Jacque's touch. It was one thing to catch up like friends, but it was another to constantly touch her and get in her face. She already had been burned by men in the past, and the only, well, man who had treated her with any dignity was Ralph. Speaking of which, she had to call him back.
"How is your fath..."
"HEY!"
The shout of a salesman cut the question short. He was storming up with a red face, a hand out. And he was addressing Jacque. "Hand over that doorknob. Now. Don't act like you didn't swipe it."
Elsa shook her head in disappointment. Damn it Jacque

Jacque was getting annoyed at himself. It was like he hadn't learned anything about interacting well with people, or he did and went back to live with Pixies again and forgot how to interact with people. Jacque went back to looking for his Father's Tarot card deck for a minute as his moral shoulder 'angel' copies appeared. They were about to say something to him when Jacque and the shoulder copies heard the vendor. The shouler copies disappeared and Jacque stood still.
Jacque slowly turned around to face the vendor. "Alright then." Jacque replied with a serious look on his face. He had sewn pockets in his hat to keep a sum of emergency money for occasionally getting caught. He pulled out $200 and the doorknob, put it all in the vendor's hand."Here it is."
Jacque watched the vendor curiously now at what the vendor would do now. As a pixie he could never fully understand 'money' as a major concept and found some amusement in having to need it. Jacque looked back at Elsa shaking her head. "What? What is it? "
