"Stop apologizing so much! God!" Weiss yelled in exasperation. She could feel herself getting angrier, although she knew it was over nothing. So why did she feel this way? She didn't even notice her hands had curled into fists until she realized that her fingernails were digging into her palms. "Just...it's complicated, okay? You wouldn't get it, so just stop trying." There were some things about her family that she just couldn't talk about, not even to her friends, not even Riku. True, her brother knew the most about what happened at the LaFayette household. But he wasn't there all the time anymore. He didn't face the same pressure that she did. And even then, he didn't know about the shadow spirits she had summoned. Nobody knew about that, except Eve, wherever she was. Just like nobody knew how terrified she had really felt when facing against Thrax. He was going to kill her, and she had happened to summon just the right kind of help to save her life. That was when her paranoia had been born, and it had only gotten worse when she started keeping her shadow spirits a secret. She felt like at any moment, someone was going to discover one of her secrets, or hurt her in some way, or think she was a monster. She had to keep her guard up. She had to get better at her magic so she could fend herself from anyone who tried to hurt her. It was the only way.

Wally's eyes widened slightly. Crap. this was not what he was expecting. Okay. No apologizing. He put his hands up in a small defensive gesture. 'Me and my big mouth.' he thought slightly sickened with himself. "Okay, no more apologizing." She was right though, he hadn't had that experience with what she had. He really did have that kind of time, spending most of his life on the run with his mom. From some invisible monster, what could he ever understand from it.
His green eyes burned with understanding though. Not for her situation but for the anger she felt. Everyone had that anger. He faced it all the time knowing that he could have been faster to save his mother. "You're right, I don't understand, I want to try to but I know that isn't something I should do unless you wanted me to. What you need is a friend, not someone who feels sorry for you."
Maybe it wasn't easy but Wally could try. "I promise, no more apologizing, and if I do again, you never have to talk to me again?" Maybe not the best response but it could be a way to get things under control. "Or you know, use your voodoo on me." He shrugged. It was the only thing he could do to bring a little bit of the tension down. What else could he do?

Weiss felt like most people would have left by now. Not everyone could deal with her bitchy attitude. Or, if they didn't leave, they were just as nasty in return. She and Riku used to get like that with each other. Surprisingly, Wally did neither of these things. Heck, he was ready to do anything she wanted: stay, leave, be a test dummy for any voodoo she wanted to shoot at him. She didn't feel quite angry enough to do the last option, and she was starting to feel more confused than angry at this point. "Why are you being so nice to me?" she asked, her voice a little less cold than before. She'd been glad to see him at the beginning of this conversation, she could admit that much. But her emotions had just gotten out of control and she didn't know why. What was going on with her?

He normally would have been all flirty and say I am just that kind of guy but that wasn't the right thing to say or do in this conversation. No one had asked him that kind of question before. The speedster didn't want to leave Weiss in an emotional state. She needed a friend even if she didn't want it. "Why? Maybe its because I want to get to know you and help you even when I know you don't want it. You seem like a really amazing person, your family life may be complicated and I know I can't help but maybe I can help be that ear if you ever needed to vent."

"You don't want to get to know me. There's not much good about me," Weiss said. Despite Riku and Aqua saying otherwise, she still felt like she wasn't the greatest person in the world. Would a good person keep secrets from their friends? Or snap at people when they were trying to help? Or delve this deep into dark voodoo magic? She still felt like she had to have had some bad in her. Otherwise, who else could she have summoned the shadow spirits? Of course, they would say that good and evil was a matter of perspective rather than a defined line, but still. She couldn't be too good of a person if she was able to summon creatures like them.

"Good or not you still deserve to be a little bit happy. At least to me." He rubbed his neck, to be honest that may have not been the right thing to say but so far Wally hadn't seen anything bad in Weiss, what he saw, well what he thought was saw was loneliness and a lot of anger. Just like he had had, like he still had but didn't want to admit.

Weiss sighed. Why did everyone always believe the best in her? They just didn't get it, and she couldn't tell them why. If they really knew what she was doing, they probably wouldn't think she was so good. How Wally could still think it was beyond her. He knew even less about her than Riku and Aqua did, yet he still believed she deserved to be happy. She felt like she could only be happy if she was the voodoo queen though, and he probably wouldn't approve of what she was doing in order to reach her goal. She was quiet for a moment before speaking again. "What I want to be happy...what if it's something that other people might not like? What if...the way I'm going about it is...questionable?"

That was a difficult question. Wally put his hands to his mouth as if thinking. He wasn't sure what Weiss would do but if it meant hurting herself or others then certainly he would say don't do it but it didn't seem like that. "Not all choices are going to make everyone happy. All things like that have risks. At least that's what my mom believed." He tapped his leg with thought.
Risk. "Do you think that its worth taking that kind of risk?" he asked. "To not have people like you because of it?"

"I don't know," Weiss replied, dropping her head in her hands. She knew becoming the voodoo queen was important to her. It had been her goal for so long. But if becoming it meant doing these shady things, and possibly having everyone hate her in the process, was it worth it? Maybe part of her knew the answer to that question already. She always believed that once she became the voodoo queen, all her problems would be solved. She would be in charge and nobody could control her again. If she had that power, did she really need friends? Even if she didn't have them, she'd always have her shadow spirits. They would always be around to keep an eye on her and protect her. Maybe she didn't need friends, as long as she had them.

Wally watched her, wanting nothing more than to take all her burdens on him instead. He hestitated for a minute, before placing a hand on her shoulder. The thought of putting his hand on her hand was too much but he put his flirty on hold. What could he say or do? "If you truly think that this is what you want, a choice that will make you happy then you should take it."
He wanted to ask if its what she truly wanted or what her family wanted for her. "But if you aren't sure then you can come to me and talk about it. I won't apologize or anything. I will just listen as a friend."

Weiss jumped slightly when Wally's hand gently rested on her shoulder. She looked up at him. He seemed so sincere. She didn't know why he cared so much about her, but his offer to tell him everything was tempting. Carrying around so many secrets was tiring and it seemed to put her at odds with even her closest friends. Maybe, if she was going to tell anyone, it'd be Wally. Maybe he was the only person in the world who wouldn't judge her too harshly for what she was doing.
Weiss.
Weiss stiffened at the sound of her name. She had only heard it in her mind, but she knew exactly where it had come from. Her shadow spirits were watching her. They knew exactly what she was about to do, and they disapproved.
We're the only ones who understand you Weiss, remember? You tell someone about us and they'll think you're a freak, a monster. They'll send us away, and who will be left to protect you? You know you can't rely on anyone. We're the only ones that can keep you safe.
Weiss let out a slow breath. They were right. They were always right. If anyone found out, they'd find a way to send the shadow spirits away, and what would happen then? Anyone could hurt her. If Thrax showed up again, she wouldn't stand a chance. She needed the shadow spirits on her side if she ever hoped to beat him if they ever met again. She had to remember that. She couldn't trust anyone else, and she had to leave before Wally made her forget that.
"I...I have to go," she said, hastily standing up. "I'll...I'll see you later." She wasn't sure if she would, but she just wanted to say something before she left. She turned on her heel and quickly walked away, her stomach churning with uncertain emotions. Interacting with people nowadays always left her feel drained and sometimes upset. She just wanted to stay in her room with the door locked and the curtains drawn, so she could be alone with the only things in the world that understood her.

Wally blinked in surprise. Had he really said something so wrong? Had he really been so bad to her? Maybe it was something involving her family or the voodoo thing. She certainly seemed like she wanted to get away from everything. Damn it. He mentally thought as he kicked the ground, of all the powers he had. Why couldn't he do something more?"S-see you later...." he called out. He was supposed to be good at the hero thing (at least that's what he liked to tell himself.) Now, he wasn't so sure.

He glanced over his shoulder once more, to see she had disappeared from sight. Shoving his hands in his pockets, the speedster started walking down the park road to his own little home.
