Adrien smiled and looked over at Yang. They had gotten up early, boarded the private jet and were heading to the family island for their planned vacation. Well, his family's private island. Yang was curled up in one of the chairs because they had been up extremely early. He thought she was asleep. He looked out the window. Water all around, but in the distance, he could see the island. Not long now before their toes would be on warm beach sand and they could relax. Shadow and Sunshine said no water, but the beach was Yang's idea. He really was a pushover if he couldn't tell her no. He didn't think he minded that too much, as long as Yang was happy.
He was looking forward to the beach and the sun and not worrying about the company. Natalie was taking care of things while he was away. While he didn't manage to find a new fashion designer, he did manage to get the investors to stop bailing on the stocks by producing a bunch of new magazine covers. Not to mention how many countless media companies he sold his soul to in interviews about his father's death, how tragic it had been, how his company had to pull together to get through this tough time and he appreciated everyone keeping him in their thoughts.

To Yang's credit, she had tried her best to stay awake for this flight. She was excited about heading to a tropical island, which in her opinion, was one of the most romantic destinations ever. And she was happy to be there with Adrien. She'd only ridden on a plane once before in her life, and it was certainly not a private jet. A lot of time had been spent checking out all the knick-knacks and doo-dads that came with it. But, the fatigue from getting up early had finally set in, and she'd fallen asleep while leafing through one of the many magazines on board. She'd had some problems with paranoia over the past few months, but even she knew that Thrax or Cinder or anybody else wouldn't get her on a plan, let alone an island owned by Adrien himself. She'd be completely safe, and that thought made her more relaxed than usual. However, she couldn't nap forever, and she stirred slightly as she opened her eyes. "Are we there yet?" she asked groggily. It was hard to tell how long they'd been in the air.

"Less than twenty minutes I suppose," Adrien said. "How'd you sleep?"
It was cute, seeing her all sleepy and absolutely relaxed. No nightmares even. Perhaps it was just the plane, rocking her to sleep. He hoped the island would do her some good too. Just the two of them, minus the staff he had brought along. He asked that they do minimal amount of chores and enjoy themselves. The two of them sat in the front of the plane, in a section partitioned off from the staff but the entire plane was luxurious. Apparently enough so the chairs could be slept in with ease. He brushed some of Yang's hair out of her face.

"Pretty decently," Yang replied. "I didn't know they made chairs this cushiony." It was a far cry from seating in regular planes. You were lucky if the material wasn't something scratchy. And good luck trying to lean your seat back to get some rest. Adrien's hand was gentle as he brushed some hair out of her face and she smiled. "Part of me still can't believe we're actually doing this," she said. "I mean, when we first met, I never thought this was where we'd end up." Who knew that the masked thief she had caught sneaking into her hideout would be the man she would fall in love with? Life was funny that way. And while Yang's life had been turned upside down over the last year, and she'd had many downfalls, she felt like this was the first good thing to happen to her in a while. She just hoped that things wouldn't get messed up.

"Father had the plane custom made. We did a lot of traveling so there were a lot of times we slept on the plane." Adrien explained.
The plane may as well as have been Adrien's home away from home. Between his traveling and his modeling, there was very little time in between for rest. He was going to have to hire new models, to cover venues he couldn't attend to. He decided he could run the company (once he got back) and cut down on his modeling. But he still needed a fashion designer or two. All things to be saved for when he got back. For now, he was cutting all contact with his company, save an emergency line only to be used in the case of an absolute emergency and Natalie had no other option. He wanted to spend his time with Yang absolutely uninterrupted.
"It surprised me too," Adrien said. "But I told you before, I like surprises."
Yang was probably the best surprise that ever happened to him. He would readily admit it if she asked him about it. She was probably the first person who knew all facets of him and liked what she saw. He saw her for what she really was - his princess. Regal, fair, kind, beautiful... He knew things weren't perfect, but was glad that she was letting them at least try. They were both going through rough patches and they needed each other.

Yang wondered if most of the traveling done on this plane was for Adrien's job. She couldn't imagine his dad taking time off to relax or something, although that probably explained why he had been so uptight all the time. He sounded like a stick in the mud. Still, Yang made sure not to mention him. His death still caused Adrien some anguish, and she didn't want him feeling sad on this trip. They could deal with all that when they got back. Right now, it was just about the two of them and nobody else. She had to smirk as he reminded her that he liked surprises. That line had practically been what had spurred her on to kiss him in the first place. It'd probably been one of the most reckless things she had done, but she was glad she had done it. Even now, she leaned over to kiss his cheek before saying "Do you have any surprises in store for me while we're here?"

"A few," he said. "But nothing too crazy."
He was trying to keep this as low key as possible for her sake. Nothing too over the top or too extravagant. This was as low key as jetting away to a private island could be. But at the private island there was no crowd, no media, no stress, just them. They didn't have to worry about anything else. Everything was already provided for them - food, drink, lodging, clothes. All they needed was themselves. And someone to watch Yang's place for her but Adrien figured Shadow had that scored away.
"I know you're not a fan of water... but we could try swimming? Or we could just lay out on the beach?" he offered.
He spared a glance out the window. They were starting to land. The plane touched down on the tarmac and a loud rumbling noise filled the plane as the plane slowed to a stop. He figured taking a boat was a bad idea. Water all around. No where to go if it sank. Great way to set Yang into a panic attack. So no boats. The plane was safer. Not to mention, couldn't be chased by any crazy fans or paparazzi that wanted pictures.

Adrien mentioned swimming as an option, and Yang felt like she could at least give it a shot. The ocean was different from the river that ran through Bellerouge. Maybe being near a different body of water would be okay. At least, that was what she hoped. The ocean didn't seem too bad from up in the plane. And beaches were pretty romantic, in her opinion. That was always where couples seemed to go to whenever they needed a place to get away and be alone. Even the Twilight series had pulled off that cliche. Besides, she could go at her own pace and be in control of how far she wanted to push herself. She knew the last thing Adrien wanted was for her to go too far. They didn't need her having another episode like she did after the paparazzi had cornered them. "Well, the water itself is fine. It's the drowning aspect that gives me the heebie-jeebies," she said, hoping she didn't sound too serious. "But we can try it. Besides, how big can the ocean be?"

"I'll be right there the whole time." he said. "I can teach you how to swim."
It was probably better not to tell her how big the ocean could be. Or how deep it could get. She likely already knew but hearing it from him wouldn't help. They didn't have to go into the water if she wasn't comfortable with it. Sand and shore were just as nice. Not to mention the well kept hiking trails his father had left behind. Adrien's mother had adored nature. Plants, animals and outdoors were some of the best things she said life had to offer. Adrien vaguely remembered helping her in the garden once, before his father had a gardening staff take over all of those 'petty chores' that his wife liked to do.
The plane came to a complete stop. After a few minutes, the door to the plane opened. Light poured in followed by the wafting smells of salt water and sand. He felt himself smile before he rose to his feet, offering Yang his hand. The staff that came with them would bring their things to the house. They could go explore until they got tired or wanted something to eat. Something about the salty air always invoked a good appetite. He was certain Yang would like the way his new chef cooked, hearty, healthy meals that actually had flavor. No more rice cakes for him.
"So, ready to go outside?" he asked. "Stretch our legs some?"

"Eh, I can do well enough to pull a kid out of the river. Not sure I need any fancy backstrokes," Yang said. That was how she had met Louie. According to him, he'd actually built a raft to go along the Antoinette river on, but it hadn't worked very well and had sunk pretty quickly. By the time she had pulled him out, he, and the rest of his stuff, were soaking wet and pretty much water-logged. It wasn't a very typical way of making friends, but it was how she and Louie had met, and they'd hit it off after a while. The jet rumbled a bit as it landed, but nothing too major. Yang smiled at Adrien as she slipped her hand into Adrien's. "Yeah. Let's get this vacation started."

"Okay, then we can splash around like idiots." he teased.
Well, he would be the idiot. Probably tripping over himself like one if she wore a swim suit. He never kept it secret he thought she was pretty. Shaking those thoughts aside, Adrien helped Yang to her feet before leading her out of the jet. The sunlight was bright. Tom passed them both sunglasses as they made their way down the stairs and onto the tarmac. Adrien hadn't let go of Yang's hand. The flight way wasn't a long strip of road, just enough for the little jet to get going to take off and land. He smiled and turned to look at her.
"What do you want to do first?" he asked. "The island is ours."
Theirs to do with as they pleased. If they wanted a bonfire, they could make one. If she wanted to go to the beach, they could head to the shore. If she wanted to sleep all day in the house, they could do that too. If she wanted to eat until she thought she'd slip into a food coma, his chefs were ready. He could feel an excitement bubbling through him. This was his first vacation as well. He never really got to sight see when he was traveling for work. No time to slow down or relax. It was what kept him so active when he was in the city.

Yang had to laugh as she and Adrien made their way off the plane. For a moment, the light was blinding and she blinked several times, trying to get her bearings. She was handed a pair of sunglasses and that helped her see a little more clearly. Once she got a look around, her eyes widened and she went "Oh wow." The beach house was nice, of course. Anything under the Agreste's name was. But that wasn't what had caught Yang's attention. What made her stare was the ocean. She'd never really seen it before, at least not like this. And the immense size of it was daunting. It just stretched on forever and ever, and there was no other land in sight. The waves were harmless enough near the shore, but she could see them get bigger further out. If she got caught out in waves like that, who knew what would happen. That thought made her a little queasy and she had to shut down any mental images of her getting stuck under the waves and unable to resurface. This place wasn't the same as the Antoinette River. Nothing bad was going to happen. She didn't even have to go in the water if she didn't want to. Still, her eyes were stuck on the ocean until Adrien spoke again, asking what she wanted to do. "Um..." It took a moment to get her bearings. "Maybe catching some rays would be good to start off with," she said. That was something easy they could do. She'd wait a while, give herself some time to relax. Then, if she felt like it, she could try some swimming today. She reminded herself that she could go at her own pace, and that Adrien was fine with it.

"As you wish," he said happily.
Adrien picked up a blanket and led Yang along to the beach. He stopped when they were far enough away from the water. He carefully laid out the blanket for them, placing a rock on the four corners to keep the wind from stealing it away or flipping it up. They could just sit and watch the water or if that bothered Yang, watch the clouds. They were out in the sun, but shaded by the palmy leaves of the trees. They wouldn't need sunblock just yet. As long as they didn't fall asleep on the blanket. But he was certain Tom or one of his other staff members would wake them up if that happened. He sat down on the blanket, gesturing for Yang to join him.
"I don't think I've been to the beach since I was a little kid." he told her.

Adrien seemed happy with her decision, pulling out a blanket and setting it up within a few minutes. She sat next to him, the palm tree leaves over her head blocking out most of the sun's glare. It still shone brightly out on the ocean though, making it sparkle like priceless gems. "I haven't been to the beach ever," she replied. Water destinations had never been popular with her mother. Sure, water didn't actually hurt her, but it was still a thing. Any vacations Yang had been on with her parents involved traveling to other cities, maybe visiting some museums or parks where she could run around to her heart's content. "It just kind of...seems to go on forever, doesn't it?" she said, looking at it again. It just kept going, running parallel to the sky until it was hard to tell where one started and another began.

"It kind of does, doesn't it?" he mused.
He hadn't really thought about it, but the water stretched out for as far as the eye could see, perhaps even further before returning to the shore back to the city they had both needed a break from. It was literally just the two of them on the island. Separated from the rest of the world. He laid back against the blanket, looking up at the sky up above. This was... different. A strange sort of good, he supposed. He was still trying to wrap his mind around the fact the two of them were indeed there together. The surreal feeling of being there with her... When she could have had any number of guys with less drama than he did.
"So..." he said, trying to think of something else. "I talked to Sunshine and Shadow... Told them we were... seeing each other?"
He had told them who he was as well. They took it surprisingly well both his identity and his romantic inclinations towards Yang. Shadow was clued in on things that Yang and Adrien accidentally admitted and the papers, but Sunshine had been taken for a surprise. She hadn't had any clue that he was the billionaire model. Which was nice. Still, he had done his part and told his friends, most of his friends. He hadn't spoken to Weiss yet, but he was certain she saw what happened in the papers. It was only a matter of time before her family decided to make a move to get closer to the Agreste family as it was (but that was her parents he was talking about).
