"Aw, Princess, I might swoon." he teased.
Except he felt a bloom of warmth in his chest. Happiness. He smiled brightly, he doubted he could stop smiling for the rest of the evening. Or their trip. Or well, any time he was around her. With her he felt happier, like his father's death was far away. He gave her hand a squeeze. Having never been in love before, he didn't quite know what he was supposed to do in a relationship. He was making things up as he went, but it seemed Yang approved either way, so he had to have been doing something right.
They strolled into the house, hand in hand. A few of his staff smiled at the passing couple. Adrien smiled back a little sheepishly. He supposed that even when they were alone, they weren't quite alone if he brought his staff. To their credit, they just went back to what they were doing.

"Isn't the princess the one who usually does the swooning?" Yang responded. Still, she was glad that Adrien was happy at her words. He needed a lot of reassurance that she loved him and not the amount of money he spent on her. But, she felt willing to remind him of that any chance she got. If he needed that extra reassurance, she was happy to provide it. Just like he always reassured her that he loved her, whether she had one arm or two. Those were the things that they were the most insecure over, and they had each other to take those doubts away. Yang didn't miss the way the staff glanced at them slightly as they made their way inside. She wasn't sure what they thought about all this, and even if she asked them, who knew if they would tell her. Staff were supposed to keep thoughts like that to themselves. Although they did smile at the two of them, so maybe they approved at some level. Still, she wasn't quite as comfortable around them as Adrien was. Being around servants was still a new thing for her.

"But we haven't conformed to those sort of gender roles, remember?" he chuckled.
Their running joke of him as Robin Hood with Yang as mix between Little John and Maid Marian. He was fairly certain that Yang could make him 'swoon' if she wanted to. He didn't think he would mind that at all. Not when Yang was involved. He only wanted their vacation to be the best that Yang ever had. Or at least the best she had until he had to outdo himself for the next time, but he was mainly hoping to impress her enough so there would be a next time.
"We can get cleaned up and then have dinner," he said.

Yang laughed. "True," she said. They were kind of unconventional when it came to that stuff. Although their "forbidden romance" was a genre that had been done over and over again. Although, to be fair, it wasn't that forbidden anymore. The only people who wouldn't approve would probably be any rich snooty people in Adrien's social circle. Yang knew that everyone on her end was probably fine with it. Shadow and Sunshine certainly seemed to approve. After suggesting they get cleaned up first, Yang nodded. "Right. See you in a few." She gave him another kiss on the cheek before heading back to her room. Once she opened her suitcase though, she had no idea what she was supposed to wear to this. She'd packed a dress in case they did anything fancy. Was this considered fancy? They weren't exactly at a five-star restaurant in the middle of town. She ended up settling on a pair of white shorts with a blue tank top. It wasn't like she had to dress to impress anyone here. Her hair wasn't too wet, and it was nothing a hair brush couldn't fix. She found herself feeling a little anxious, although she wasn't sure why. Maybe it was because everything had been going okay so far, and she was worried something might happen? Maybe she was reminded of the last time she and Adrien had had a meal like this? She could still remember the fear her flashback of Thrax had made her feel, and how her anger had nearly gotten out of control. If Adrien hadn't been able to snap her out of it, who knew what might have happened. She shook the memory away, willing herself to not think about stuff like that. She was here to relax and spend time with Adrien. That was all she needed to worry about. Feeling like her emotions were more in control, she peeked her head out of her room, wondering if Adrien was ready.

Adrien gave an almost dreamy sigh, that he hoped that she did not catch, after she slipped into her room. When he did retreat to his room, he let out a slow deep breath. He had it bad. It was hard for him to focus when she kissed him so easily. He didn't mind that either. Yang just being around made all of his worries and stresses melt away. He could think for the first time in weeks - though the topic was only her. It was still a vast improvement from the impending worry that his company was going to be crashing down around his head.
He quickly rinsed off the salt and the sand, dressing in something nice but still casual. No need to break out a suit, though he did wonder if Yang was the type to make sure her dress (if she wore a dress because she might just prefer a suit) would match his. He wore a button up t-shirt over a tank top and a pair of cargo shorts. He stepped out of his room, trying his best not to laugh when he saw Yang peek out like she was about to get scolded if she left.
"I'll be your escort this evening, princess," he said.

Yang was kind of relieved Adrien had taken the casual route as well. Then again, he'd probably tell her she'd look beautiful in anything she wore. He tended to say things like that. And frankly, Yang thought the same about him. "Oh, so polite," she said teasingly as she wrapped her hand around his once again. "Do they start the gentlemanly training with you guys early?" Knowing Adrien's family, they probably did. Rich people tended to be particular at the sort of stuff. It was different from the way Yang had grown up. Sure, her parents still had rules for her. Don't throw food at the wall, pick up your toys when you were done playing with them, brush your teeth twice a day. But those were basic things that every kid had to learn. Some families back in Bellerouge seemed to think that they could train kids to be mini adults, and that just wasn't how children worked. They needed time to act young and stupid and run around a bit. Yang had had plenty of time to do that when she was little.

"Mmmm... Maybe you're just lucky," he said.
He happened to be polite, simply because, it was harder to do. He could be rude if he wanted, a spoiled brat that he knew he wasn't or kick up a tantrum over stupid things like people expected him to simply because he could get his way any time he wanted. His father had too many rules to count. His mother only had one and that was to treat others how you wanted to be treated. He had always wanted to make her proud of him. If she was ever found or if she ever even came back at all. He wanted her to know he had followed her advice.
"Or maybe it's just because I'm with a pretty girl?" he teased.
He led her to a room not far off from either of theirs. With a little forethought, he had the study prepped for them to have dinner on their own. For the sake of privacy. He even paused to open the door for her. The smell of their dinner wafted around them.

"Oh come on, you've been around plenty of other pretty girls before me," Yang said. "And you don't jetty all of them out to a private island in the middle of the ocean." She'd heard of guys that were into that sort of thing, and it was lucky that Adrien wasn't. She was the only girl for him, and she relished in that fact. The dining room turned out to be the study that had been changed up a little bit to give them some privacy. Still, Yang had to oogle for a moment on how nice the place was. It had typical study stuff, like tons of books. But there was still a table set out for the two of them, where dinner was already waiting for them. "Oh wow. This is so cool," she said with a grin.

"That's because those girls were only pretty on the outside." Adrien replied. "You're pretty inside and out, Yang. That's what I like about you."
Yang was beautiful, whether she believed it or not. Inside and out. Her inner beauty all but dazzled him. She had selflessly taken in orphaned and homeless children, when it was really just an inconvenience to her to look after them at all. She was kind and loving. She had a confidence about her, that he was just seeing come back for the first time since her run in with Thrax and that alone nearly sent him over the moon. He walked over to the table that had been set up for them and pulled out the chair for Yang. She might call him old fashioned, but he preferred to think of it as manners.
"Figured we could try having our dinner date with just us." he explained.

Yang smiled as Adrien pulled out her chair and she sat down. It felt like they'd been listing all the things they liked about each other ever since they got here. But, she liked hearing it. And she liked making Adrien feel happy by saying it as well. "This is quieter than a restaurant downtown," she agreed. She liked that it was just the two of them here, although she was sure at least some of the staff would like to peek in on any of their romantic endeavors. Everyone liked stuff like that. It was why romance movies always did so well. Still, just her and him together made her happy. She looked at the crab for a moment, which seemed to have been formed into some sort of classic crab cake. She remembered some vendors selling them sometimes during the summer, but they probably weren't as refind as this. She took a cautious bite, then smiled. "Wow. That's good," she said.

"That's the idea with a private island." he teased. "The paparazzi can't chase us here."
He wouldn't let them get withing fifty yards of her ever again if he had his way. They would not scare her off with their ways. He sat down across from her. The crab cakes were probably for the sake of easy eating. If they had to crack their own crab, things could get messy, not to mention, the meat would be cold by the time they ate it. No. His chefs knew best. Yang seemed to treat the food like it was going to bite her, but she declared that she liked it, which, despite the fact he hadn't cooked, was a relief.
"That's great," he said. "Here I was starting to worry sea food would be too adventurous."

"Have they ever tried?" Yang asked. Sometimes, it seemed like nothing would stop them. She had heard some stories before about reporters climbing over fences and getting chased by guard dogs just to get a photo of a famous celebrity. Getting to a private island probably wasn't that much harder. Mr. Agreste had been quite the mysterious person. The paparazzi were probably dying to get a shot of him, even if it meant following him to his private island. Then again, he hadn't exactly believed in vacations much, so who knew? "Hey, if I can get into the ocean, I think I'm up for anything," Yang said as she took another bite. It was a slight exaggeration, but she felt like it was a little bit true. Going into the water was a bit harder for her than trying some new food. Crab wasn't about to kill her.

"Maybe when I was little. Father made an example of the first and last person who tried. Had him arrested for trespassing." Adrien said.
His father had zero tolerance for rule breakers. Which was why he had been so angry with Adrien for pursuing Yang. It wasn't hard to find that Yang had a record and run-ins with the police. Not to mention their different social standings. Yang broke every rule his father laid out for her. Adrien would happily follow suit just to be with her. However, she wouldn't thrive in his 'world'. Modeling and high class parties weren't her thing. He would likely wither in her 'world'. He didn't know anything except modeling. His father's idea of education wouldn't get him a job in the 'real' world. He was lucky he even knew how to drive a car, let alone order something from a restaurant. And yet, they made each other happy enough to look past those differences.
"Maybe we can do something like that on our next date." he said. "Pizza and movies will seem tame."

"Ouch." That must have sucked for the reporter. Although, if Yang was honest, she'd probably try and do the same. Maybe that was the one thing she and Mr. Agreste would have agreed upon: the paparazzi sucked. She doubted that would have made their relationship any better though. He hadn't even tried to talk with her once he had found out about her and Adrien. He'd just immediately asked his son to drop all contact with her. She was quiet for a moment before asking "Do you...ever miss him?" She wondered if Adrien still felt conflicted about his death. His dad had been an asshole, and things were less tense now that he wasn't here. But at the same time, he was his dad, and the only part of his family he'd had left. That had to be rough to deal with. Adrien suggested pizza and a movie and Yang nodded in agreement. "Tame, but nice," she said. Heck, that was what couples usually did. Dinner and a movie was practically Dating 101. Still, she wouldn't mind doing that with Adrien. He had a way of making typical things fun.

"I... don't think I miss him as much as I miss what we could have had." Adrien said. "He was my dad... I would have thought... It should have been..."
His father should have been happy for him that he had found someone that he liked so much. He should have been teased and told not to make him a grandfather too soon. So Adrien could groan and complain and blush and insist he wouldn't. His father should have invited Yang over to dinner to get to know her better. They should have done a lot of things. His father never gave him the chance for normalcy. He was just a tool of the industry. His feelings came second. He had wished so much for the day his dad would have actually been a dad, but it never happened and would never happen. His father had been too attached to material things for him to see there were people behind those things.
"You can school me on all the movies I don't know but should." he told her.
Simple. Something nice and easy. He'd like that. Just cuddling up on the couch and laughing over bad films or hiding because of the scary ones. Pizza and popcorn and all those other things that would make Yang proud he was blowing his model diet.
