In Jacques and Ciri's eyes, Weiss was recovering very well. Their daughter was being obedient, polite, and not getting herself into trouble. They were only too happy to let her leave the house every now and then, provided that she was back before dark. They were eager to let everybody see that Weiss was recovering just fine and perfectly normal. Of course, Weiss was anything but normal by this point. With her shadow spirits constantly mentally linked with her, she was becoming more withdrawn from everything else around her. She hardly practiced fencing anymore, or her music. She stayed in her room with her shadow spirits, constantly exchanging information until their consciousness were practically welded together. She only went out when told to, and her shadow spirits always stayed close behind. The cemetery was secluded this part of the day, and that made Weiss happy. She and her shadow spirits could spent time here, content and not worrying about who might see them. Then again, someone discovering them didn't worry her as much as it used to. She didn't feel things much at all anymore. With her shadow spirits to protect her, and her voodoo power growing all the time, what did she need to be afraid of? She was never really alone, not anymore. She was heading down the dark path, and she felt that was where she belonged. As she sat under a tree, talking silently with the shadow spirits, she noticed them become tense and glance to the right of her. She turned her head, knowing what that meant. Somebody was here. On instinct, her shadow spirits fled from sight, although the mental link remained. If the stranger proved to be dangerous, they could leap to Weiss's defense in an instant.

Soon enough a figure appeared a short distance away, making no effort to conceal themselves and approaching at the same pace. As the person drew closer, the delicate features and startlingly white hair revealed who it was that had seemingly stumbled upon Weiss by accident...
"Well, I thought I recognized the shadows lurking about here."
Lilith smiled as she slowly made her way along the path to where the young woman was sitting, her expression friendly enough but something darker seeming to flash deeply within her eyes.

Weiss relaxed slightly when she saw who was approaching her. It was the woman she knew as Eve, and while she'd only met her once before, she seemed the closest to understanding Weiss and her connection with her shadow spirits. Speaking of which, they joined with her now, knowing that they didn't have to hide themselves from her. But that didn't necessarily mean they liked Eve. They still didn't trust her, and Weiss could see the suspicious looks they were giving her.
What's your deal? She's not gonna hurt us.
She could if she wanted to. She has enough power. The shadow spirits looked down at Weiss. We're the only ones you can trust, remember? Anyone else can turn on you in a second.
Weiss had to admit that that was true. Anyone around her could hurt her if they felt like it. Her father or mother could hit her, or abandon her. Her friends could leave her in an instant if they found out what she was doing. And Eve was powerful. Weiss couldn't deny that. She doubted she would hurt her, but she could if she felt like it. She glanced back at the woman, realizing that she had spoken and that Weiss had been completely silent the whole time. That was the one benefit of having a mental connection with the shadow spirits now. They could have entire conversations inside their heads, without anyone hearing.
"Eve," she greeted, giving a small nod of her head. "It's been a while."

"Yes, it has. And I see you decided to take my advice."
By that point Lilith was standing only a few feet away from Weiss, the smile on her face never changing even as she looked from the young woman to the overly-protective shadows that had formed between her and their Master. Others might have been ill at ease with such a force right in front of them but not her. After all, these spirits couldn't harm her or go against her no matter how desperately they wished to do so. The charm wrapped around her wrist and made from Weiss's own hair would see to that.
"And I only just heard a most interesting piece in the news the other day... Something about a young woman kidnapped by a Demon who managed to single-handedly take him down..."
The smile didn't falter but 'Eve' cocked her head to the side ever so slightly in a gesture of curious inquiry.

Weiss glanced back at the shadow spirits. They were still eyeing Eve with suspicion. Weiss didn't feel very worried though. Fear wasn't something she felt much anymore, not like before. She remembered being so scared of her parents, of people finding out what she was doing, of Thrax. But not anymore. And speaking of Thrax, Eve mentioned him, and Weiss glanced back at her. It looked like even she hadn't been deaf to the news about him. If she hadn't seen it in every newspaper and news blog, she'd probably heard everyone talking about it. A flash of anger coursed through Weiss as she remembered everything she'd gone though, and how close she'd been to finishing off Thrax herself. Sure, Cinder had killed him shortly after, but Weiss could have done it. She hadn't though, and she hated that her trivial emotions had gotten the better of her. She wouldn't hesitate like that again. Her shadow spirits had seen to that. "Is that why you wanted to chat?" she asked. "You want all the juicy details about that?" Truthfully, a lot of people had, and it irritated Weiss to no end. Couldn't people just mind their own damn business? But Eve was different. Weiss could probably tell her everything and the woman wouldn't even mind how close she'd been to becoming a killer.

"Not really, no. I've heard enough about that already. I just wanted to know if there was any truth in what everyone else was saying."
As she spoke, Lilith bent down so that she was crouching close to where Weiss was seated. She balanced perfectly on her feet and let her hands go around her knees as she looked at the Voodoo girl and the powerful spirits that had attacked themselves to her. They could sense that she was up to no good in regards to their Master and she could tell they wanted to warn her of the threat that sat only a few feet away. However, a small brush of her thumb along the charm and the spirits were forced into a calmer state. Cryptic warnings were all they could give now.

"Pretty much, yeah," Weiss said, deciding to be blunt about the subject. "Thrax kidnapped me, wanted to make me his little demon-possessed sidekick. I managed to break out of the little prison he built for me right when the Others Unit showed up. I almost killed him, but not quite. Cinder has that honor." The words came tumbling out, almost rushed. She just wanted to explain it all so Eve had no further questions. She didn't want to talk about it anymore than she had to. "I could have fought Cinder and her cronies off, the night they took me, but..." She only faltered over her words for a moment before continuing. "My parents found out about my shadow spirits. My mom did some heavy-duty light voodoo magic, hurt them bad enough that it took them a while for them to come back. I haven't told anyone about them, and they haven't either. They want to keep it all under wraps so the family's reputation doesn't get ruined." Her voice became more bitter and angry with every word she spoke. Her parents didn't really care about her recovery, not really. As long as it looked like she was okay, they were content. It was all about looks for them, and she hated it. She'd kept everything under wraps for so long, it felt good to finally tell someone, even if it was a person Weiss barely knew.

Lilith merely knelt before the young voodoo girl, her figure perfectly still but her eyes watching Weiss so closely that it would make anyone else writhe beneath the violet gaze. Weiss, however, was too focused on her own bitter emotions to notice and continued to speak of what she had endured. Thrax kidnapping and torturing her, nearly killing the Demon in her attempt to escape, the abuse and bondage she had suffered under her parents. And as Weiss spoke of all she had suffered through and endured, one clear emotion seemed to practically radiate from her pale and slender frame.
Rage.
Lilith could feel the fury almost as a physical heat as the young woman gave way to her fury and vented those feelings that she had concealed for so long. And while she remained perfectly still as she sat before the powerful voodoo priestess, as she watched her Shadows respond to her anger and coil about her, she felt a rush of dark pleasure and fulfillment. Ever since their first encounter the She-Demon had thought that Weiss might be one of the four she had been sent into this pathetic world to search for. Even back then she had vaguely sensed the anger the girl harbored and the potential for it to bloom into something savage and powerful. She had 'helped her' by pushing her towards the temptation of the Shadows and how her simply plan for young Weiss had thrived.
The façade of the high-society girl who was the pride of the Lafayette family was gone. Now all that was left was a shattered mask and the horrible, boiling rage that had hidden behind the porcelain face. Indeed, Weiss had become one of the very things Lilith had been searching for: The Vessel of Rage.
At long last Lilith finally spoke, blinking so that the horrible look in her eyes seemed to disappear and was replaced with a sympathy that seemed all too real. She even moved closer despite what appeared to be a threatening display from the Shadow Spirits.
"You have suffered greatly at the hands of those who are meant to care for you. To have your own family try and banish away the very thing that could have protected you from that Demon.... the very thing that ended up saving you."

Eve was very quiet as Weiss vented about everything that had happened to her. Although, truth be told, Weiss didn't really give her enough room to comment on anything. The words just kept coming out, everything she couldn't tell her friends or her family. Eve was really the first one to truly know everything, and while it was a relief to get all of it out, the memory of it all just made Weiss angry. When Eve finally spoke, it was with sympathetic words, although she pointed out one of Weiss's true sources of anger: her parents had sent her shadow spirits away when she'd needed them most. If they'd been there, Cinder and her cronies wouldn't have been able to lay a hand on her. Or, at the very least, she would have been able to put up a better fight. Instead, she'd been pounced on and knocked out within seconds. She'd hardly been a challenge at all, and if there was one thing Weiss hated, it was feeling weak and helpless. "I know," she said. "They were idiots. And I don't want to feel weak like that anymore. Not ever again. Once I'm Voodoo Queen, nobody's going to order me around or hurt me or keep me locked away..." Her voice trailed off. That day, when she was finally in charge and calling the shots, it was one of the few things that kept her going. It was the goal she'd worked towards for so long, and she felt like she was getting closer to it every day with her shadow spirits helping her.

"Becoming the Voodoo Queen...."
Lilith nodded her head slowly in response to Weiss's words as if she agreed with her. And as she finished, a slow look of excitement suddenly came across her face even as she knelt on the ground. It was the kind of look that seemed to proclaim the development of an idea, a great idea that held so much potential.
"I think I know a way to help you!"
The she smiled widely at the younger girl but the excitement in her face suddenly changed into a look of wary concern and uncertainty. She dropper her eyes to her hands where they rested on her knees and bit lightly at her bottom lip.
"Wait, no. It might be too dangerous..."

Weiss looked up when Eve suggested she might know a way to help her. She was intrigued, to say the least. The shadow spirits reacted less kindly, hissing like snakes.
Shut up! Weiss snapped in her head. If you're going to act that way, you can go skulk somewhere else!
You're really going to trust her? Even though anyone who's not us could stab you in the back and betray you?
I thought you could protect me from anyone who wanted to hurt me. Did you lie?
That stung the shadow spirits' pride. Protecting Weiss and keeping her safe was their priority right now, and they didn't appreciate being doubted. They were silent, although Weiss knew they were just sulking. She turned back to Eve.
"They think you're going to hurt me," she said bluntly. "If not now, then later."

When Weiss didn't say anything and her shadows reacted even more agitated then they had been, the expression on 'Eve' slowly became one of uncertainty and mild worry. And when Weiss revealed what her spirits had told her, a certain amount of sadness crept into her eyes, a sadness that bespoke of how cruel the world really was.
"I suppose in their own way they are right and I won't lie about this. Weiss, I've lived longer than you and I can tell that that no matter what we always end up being injured by everyone, even the people who mean the most to us. Even if they never intentionally try to, they always hurt you in some way. Eventually I will end up hurting you in some form, but that is why this is all the more important. This is my chance to help you draw closer to your spirits, to aid you in reaching your goal."
'Eve' spoke with utter conviction and her voice was filled with a sympathy that was impossible to ignore. She knelt in front of the young girl for a moment longer, hesitating, before she suddenly reached out a hand to her.
"Please, let me help you unlock your power so that no one may ever harm you again."
Her kindness and the words she spoke were so hard to resist. Even the small smile on her lips made it seem like she was speaking from the depths of her heart and that its core was good. However, as she looked at Weiss with her hand outstretched, she kept her other hand behind her back and, pressing against the charm on her wrist, spoke to only the Spirits.
You know what I am but I know what you desire. You want this girl, to possess her and make her yours forever. You resist me because you think I will steal her from you but if you play along in my game, I assure you that you will have what you seek. All shall have what they came here for.

Eve spoke with such conviction, Weiss could feel it winning her shadow spirits over. She could sense the shift in them, and they viewed her with less distrust than before. Maybe the fact that Eve could help them get stronger made the idea more appealing. Either way, they backed off. They'd let Eve do what she must, although that didn't mean their guard was down. They'd step in if they had to, or felt like she was about to harm Weiss. Weiss smiled, just feeling glad that they were seeing sense. Eve was the only one who understood her, who wasn't judging her for the choices she was making. They weren't like her parents, who thought the shadow spirits were just evil monsters. There was no good and evil anymore. Weiss felt like the line was blurred between them, until it barely even existed anymore. "Okay," she said as she placed her hand in Eve's.

Weiss paused for a moment that seemed to stretch into eternity and Lilith could see a hint of uncertainty in her blue eyes. However, the hurts from the past were too much and her rage blinded her to the danger that sat in front of her wearing the face of an angel. All this swam within the depths of her eyes as she reached forward and took Lilith's hand.
The She-Demon felt a pulse of pure excitement fill her entire frame but her face didn't change in the slightest and didn't falter as she rose from her kneeling position and stood up, keeping a hold on Weiss' hand.
"Follow me."
With that, she turned and began to lead Weiss deeper into the cemetery.

Weiss followed along, wondering slightly about what exactly was going to happen. But she didn't care that much. Anything she worried about these days didn't concern her as much as it used to. Her shadow spirits were by her side. And if whatever Eve had in mind worked, then it would make them stronger than ever. What more could she want? She didn't care about right or wrong anymore. Having a viewpoint like that had never helped her in the past. Why should it now?
