Omar took a breath and let it out slowly. "Good. Please, think it over? Us? I don't care that you're a faery, you're still someone worth everything for, and I honestly mean everything" he tried a weak smile. How many other guys could say they'd literally been tortured for their love? Probably not many nowadays. In the renaissance he wouldn't have bet against it. Or the days of the Spanish Inquisition. Those were some dark and messed up days. He smiled weakly. "I might do something in the future, you never know. If it was for a kid, or a friend or a belief I agreed with strongly, I'd do anything. Just a fair warning, to both of you" he clapped his hands and winced at the shooting pain. "Okay, enough of that. How have you been Shadow? Better I hope"

Aqua managed a meek smile. There she was, crying her eyes out (though the tears had finally stopped) in front of both Omar and Shadow like some sort of overly emotional child. She wiped the last bit of moisture away from her puffy red eyes. She let out a shaky breath. Her head hurt. Her cheeks felt dry and sore from the salty tang of tears. She felt emotionally drained. After all this, Omar still wanted to be with her. He had suffered so much all because he wouldn't renounce how he felt for her. All he was asking was for her to consider the possibility that they had a future together. A future probably laden with faeries who wanted to kill him for even considering to date her.
"Okay," she relented.
She turned to look at Shadow, who had been so accommodating while she had her meltdown. She had to hold back from hugging him too, because she figured he wouldn't want her to. He probably didn't know what to do even if she did hug him. She took another deep breath, trying to calm herself.

Shadow gave Omar major credit. Anyone who could boast about being medievally tortured for the sake of loving a woman was more than deserving of the girl. Aqua deserved love just as much. For once, envy of something he didn’t have wasn’t there. He just sat by, looking up at the duo. A clearing throat came by, and Wendy Seddon was approaching with a cup.
“Anti-bruising,” she explained to Omar, setting it down. “on the house. Also your black coffee, Shadow,” another cup was given to him, “I’ll tell Sunshine you said hello.”
Shadow nodded. “Thanks, Wendy.” As the blonde bakery owner went back, the homunculus followed Omar’s lead in talking about his life. “Could be more adventurous. I’m turning into a hermit with studying my past.”

Omar looked round to Wendy and took the cup offered with silent thanks. He didn't think to give her the basket until it was too late and then sighed quietly. He'd have to give it to someone before he left. But the anti-bruising tea, that was nice. He sipped it. It wasn't bad. It warmed his bruised chest soothingly so that was something. Omar smiled slightly. He put a hand on Aqua to help calm her and nodded to Shadow. "Careful you don't get too lost in it. You have forever to figure this out, don't forget to live in the moment while you have it too"

"Right," Aqua said, agreeing with Omar. "And if you need help, let us know?"
Shadow was a do-it-himself sort of guy. He didn't exactly tell everyone how he was feeling or what he was doing. Aqua herself was opening herself up to something different. She gave a glance to Omar before turning back to Shadow. She didn't know what Shadow was going through but she had sat on the side lines feeling sorry for herself long enough. So many bad things had happened. She used to think it was her job to help people. It was something that came natural. She didn't even know the last time she helped a random stranger or cast a good luck charm for someone. Too long.

“I have forever, but the people of Bellerouge don’t,” Shadow pointed out. He grabbed a chair and faces the troll and faery. Omar had been through heck when Disparion spoke the first time. Putting him and Aqua through more torture than they had been through in the past 24 hours? He couldn’t let it happen. Not again. “Even the memories Disparion gave me back I’m starting to doubt. Pitch openly admitted to taking them...a demon doesn’t let their payments get corrupted so easily.”

"Yes, we'll help where we can" Omar shrugged at the comment Shadow made. Cities came and went. So did nations. He could see where Shadow was coming from, but over time the city would collapse and die despite the hedgehog's best efforts. But hopefully that would be a long way off and not because of Disparion. "But Pitch once did what Disparion said" Omar pointed out. "He might have been forced to give up the memories. You never know"

Aqua frowned. She wasn't sure it was a good idea that Shadow keep chasing these memories, but this was what Shadow wanted. For closure. For Maria. She couldn't argue because that would make her a hypocrite. She had done the same with Terra. Let that hurt fester and rot until it nearly consumed her. Riku was the one who saved her. His friendship had brought her back from the brink. Shadow just needed to be reminded he wasn't alone in all this. Despite her not entirely knowing the depth of what was going on.
"But... Disparion would only want you to see the bad memories, wouldn't he?" she inquired. "Or they could be fake."

"And that's what I don't know, Aqua; If the memories are fake or true."
Some of the memories were easily traced back to the professor's journal. There was one hole missing from the professor's notes, and it was the piece that Shadow wanted to know, and why he wasn't exactly trusting of people that knew the past. That piece was how word of a secret laboratory using black magic had been snitched to the government. The government's raid had basically shut the project down, and not even the professor knew who it was that snitched. One of the scientists? Perhaps. A demon that knew about Disparion's deal and whispered it to the people below? That was another possibility.
"The only ones I know are true are the ones based around Maria. The others...not so much."

Omar nodded slowly. "It'll be difficult to get your memories back. Is there a way to make a deal with Pitch to get your memories back so you know for sure what's a lie and what's real? I mean, if someone else besides you has to make the deal..." Omar would volunteer, every time. These people trusted him, were kind to him. He wanted to repay that kindness any way he could.

Aqua's lips pressed into a thin line. Making a deal? It seemed an awful lot of those were going on lately. Her two for Sunshine and Riku? Dorian's with Constantine for Anna's life? Now another one for Pitch and Shadow? She didn't want anyone to make anymore deals. It was like playing with fire. They were only likely to get burned. She shifted uncomfortably in her spot. Judging by the determination blazing in Omar's eyes and the set line of Shadow's jaw, things weren't going to go well. They both wanted to see this through. Damned be the consequences. But she couldn't protest either opting instead to say nothing despite her own conflicted feelings on the matter.

"No."
Shadow said this firmly, without resolve. Really, it was the one tone of vice a lot of people associated with him. But in the refusal lay something else. Something he wouldn't admit out loud for reasons of, admittedly, pride. He was afraid. Yang had lost her arm, Omar had been beaten and bruised, Terra had been killed, and despite not knowing him the guilt of knowing his death and then relaying it Aqua...Chat had probably also gotten into a hair raising situation because of him. Disparion was right. No matter who got involved, somehow they got hurt. The last thing he needed was Omar making deals.
"This is my deal to put up with. I've seen too many people get hurt because they wanted to take my place."

Omar looked at Shadow quietly. "I get it you lost a lot of people, and more people get hurt every day. But you're my friend, this is my city and this is my life. If Pitch won't deal with you, I'll try my hand. Who knows? He might say no to me too. But I want to try. This isn't about taking your place and fighting your battles for you, it's helping you get the strength to fight them on your own. Preferably with us by your side" he nodded resolutely. "At the very least let me come as back up when you talk to Pitch. I want to be there for you, like you were always there for me"

"Well, um, maybe we can talk this through?" Aqua insisted hastily. "Why don't you tell us what you remember and maybe a second set of eyes can help you think this over?"
Anything to get the self-sacrificing notion out of Omar's head. She didn't want to see anyone else making anymore deals. Nothing good came of it. It's how Shadow lost his memories in the first place! Terra made one to save her. It cost him his life. Dorian made one to save Anna and now he was working on that damnable serum that nearly killed her. She had made one for both Riku and Sunshine. Admittedly, she got off light, but she knew the consequences of her actions. The courts knew about her now. Which was why Omar got hurt in the first place. No one in town ever really knew she was fey until she told them. It was rule her parents instilled in her when she was young. Go out and the glamour goes on.
"Let's look at this from another angle."

A din of silence fell over the homunculus. The intense throbbing has cut him silent. This was the dark power of Disparion riding, provoked by Omar and Aqua’s Offers to help. He was keeping it silent, holding it back where it manifested as a throbbing headache. He pressed a hand to his temple, staring into the void of his coffee.
The reflection of his red eyes looking back with a glare shook him. The sooner he got this done, the better. The pain died and he sat back,
“I was created with Disparion’s blood. I befriended Maria Gerald in a hidden laboratory. We were attacked, and Maria was gunned down by the government. She sent me away, making me promise to protect the city. I remember...anger...then just wallowing sadness....then Pitch taking my memories with a smile...and that’s all I remember. I just don’t know what happened between those gaps. What made seek out Pitch? He says I asked him to take them...”
