Omar kept silent after his piece. There wasn't anything to add. He watched Shadow though. He suddenly didn't look so well, and confirmed this by placing a hand to his temple. Omar wondered what exactly was going on inside him. Did he have ties to Disparion that went beyond blood? well, beyond what else they knew too. He listened with interest as Shadow talked. "Somebody must have met you before you got your memories erased. I know this city, I know people. I can ask around for you and see if anyone knows you from before. It doesn't hurt to ask"

"There's always Namine?" Aqua offered. "I've been helping her with her magic lately. She's gotten much better than she was before. But memory magic is delicate."
Except Namine was petrified of hurting someone. It shook her to the core more than Aqua had realized at first. The girl who had been harmed in the past, afraid to do harm onto someone else. She didn't want to risk turning someone into a drooling blank slate with not even the memory of their name. Though if they were truly backed into a corner and had no other leads, surely she could be convinced? Namine had made recovery in leaps and bounds after what happened to her. She was even going out with friends, stammering less around people she knew (and trusted) as well as getting help for her anxiety and magic.

Met him before the memory wipe? Well, the answer was obvious, Shadow didn't even remember if he had met anyone prior. Omar said he knew the city, and the big factor he had as opposed to someone else volunteering to help him was that he trusted Omar. He wouldn't let a stranger go and ask 'hey, did you know this cop'. Aqua brought up Namine, and he had a vague flashback to the time he did talk to her. He had been half asleep, and had somehow made a shockingly non-grumpy conversation with her. She had mentioned her powers, but also the fear. Aqua said she was helping but he was hesitant. "I don't want to scare her or overwhelm her." If Disparion was tainting his memories, what would it do to Namine if she tried to purify them? Would it attack her? He couldn't risk that, not someone innocent.

"Then last case scenario?" Aqua offered. "There's no pressure on you or on her, remember that Shadow."
If either of them put their foot down then that would be that. Namine's power could be back up plan Z if it came down to it. She was a sweet girl. Aqua would hate to make her feel uncomfortable using her powers, even if it was in Shadow's benefit. Namine still had to build up confidence before she even considered using her powers. Right now Namine was good to magically clean the house. Not anywhere near as complicated as the human mind or... Other mind, Aqua supposed.
"We could always try potions?" Aqua suggested.

"I'll be careful asking around. But I have...connections to Unseelie who've lived here since the founding of this city. If anyone knows who might know you, it's them" granted Omar would probably have to do something for them, but that was alright. He really didn't mind, though he knew other people minded for him. So he'd keep this on the downlow and just not talk about it. "Potions could work, and Namine, but I don't want to push her. She's not completely over trauma. But she'd probably do it if I asked, and if anything happened, we'd be there to help her. Hell, that Lafayette you have on your force is supposedly good at driving out supernatural forces. He was a good cleanser and voodoo priest before he joined the force. I had to get his services once" he had been convinced his dead girlfriend was haunting the apartment. Turned out it was a boggart, but it had still been freaky.

The last thing Shadow needed was getting tied up with the Unseelie again. Omar had nearly been killed by them. His clenched hand shook, and his coffee cup shook in time. Having them inside his head,or the prospect of being associated with him. True, Shadow has Unseelie blood in him, even if a little, bit it didn’t sit right. The topic diverted to potion and he bit back a laugh. He had a hard enough time taking medicine. Their only option was...
“If the two of you can convince Namine, it’s the safest bet we have. She’ll listen to you two.”

"No more faeries." Aqua insisted.
She herself was sick of her own kind. She wanted nothing to do with them and didn't blame her parents one bit for leaving the courts when they had the chance. They were like a fungus that she couldn't quite get rid of and not the good kind of fungus either. She didn't know how Omar could suggest going to an Unseelie so easily after what had happened. The thought sent an unwelcome shiver of fear through her. She wanted to avoid going to 'her kind' from this point on. Was there a way to cut ties with a group of people that acted more like a cult than a species? She would have to look into that in a way even the Queen didn't know.
"Whatever we decide to do, you're not in this alone, Shadow." Aqua declared.

Omar opened his mouth to protest, looked at both the faces of Shadow and Aqua and sighed. "Fine. No fey involvement. But what about troll kind? I know pretty much every troll here. There has bound to be one or two that ran into you, or know someone who ran into you" truth be told Omar knew someone from just about every species in the city. If anyone knew Shadow from before his memories, Omar could find out. He nodded slowly. "We can talk to Namine. She should be willing if she knows how important this is to you. And Aqua's right, you are not alone in this. We're going to help you find answers"

"That's a possibility. I did leave in the streets before I joined the force. Chances are some trolls were in the area." Shadow still found it odd. He could remember the days of street life, eating dumped food and holing himself in an alleyway of Garcon Perdu in a broken furniture box until fate stepped in, but he couldn't remember incidents of ten years ago. While he was grateful for the couple helping him, he didn't dare say it. The last time he showed gratitude, someone ended up hurt. He had thanked Yang and what happened? Her arm got cut off. He thanked Chat and what happened? His father died. He wasn't allowing them a chopping block seat.

"Then it's settled. One step at a time." Aqua said.
She smiled at the both of them. She felt exhausted. This was far more emotionally draining than she thought it would be. Granted, she hadn't expected to run into Shadow or Omar at Nevermore though since it was a frequent hang out place, she should have known better. And she still had to go home to make herself dinner. She hadn't gotten her tea, but perhaps it was for the best. She would at least try and sleep at some point that night. Probably sleeping better than she had in a while, since she had gotten one heavy matter off her chest.

Omar sipped his tea that Wendy had given him. It tasted good. He nodded at Aqua. "One step at a time" he grinned. "I'll drop these quince off and then I'll go and ask a few people that immediately come to mind. I worked with some trolls at the harbor ten years ago and their kids were way into the street life. It'll be not a problem to ask the kids if they remember a giant hedgehog wandering around. I imagine you stick out in people's memories" he had no intention of going home and feeling sorry for himself or Shadow. The only way to live was to keep moving.

"And I should probably get back to Namine." Aqua said. "I'll ease her into the idea."
It would take a gentle touch and a lot of coaxing to help Namine get comfortable with the idea. But Aqua was sure that the blonde had come far enough to unlock a few memories for Shadow. She simply had to have more confidence in herself. Namine could be good, if she put her mind to it. Situations like these, where someone needed her and depended on her instead of the other way around, should help her. But like she said, they would have to take this easy. Memories were as delicate as Namine's fractured confidence. If they would use her, even as a backup, they had to do it on her terms. So she wasn't afraid and Shadow wouldn't get hurt.

"Quince?" Wendy had returned to collect empty cups and plates nearby. She checked the basket Omar was carrying. The yellow fruits were perfectly ripe, and the matriarch of the Seddon family smiled at Omar. "Well, thank you. I'll tell my daughter you all stopped in as well." The basket was picked up and rushed to the kitchen.
Shadow had been characteristically quiet through the event. The harbor had been one of his slower haunts. But if trolls were in the area, and most of them were good at passing off as humans, it was plausible. It could be a start on getting information from people he trusted for once. He in no way trusted the demons who were feeding him stories. He did trust Aqua, and t seemed to be her way of repaying him when he told the truth about Terra. He had ended a painful search for her and now she was assisting in ending his. He also trusted Omar. Time and time again the troll put himself on the line, and had openly called him his friend. "Okay. One step it is," he agreed. ((End thread))
