While it never got bone-chilling cold in Bellerouge, the weather could still get nippy enough for Weiss to want something hot after walking around outside for a while. Which was why, at the moment, she was buying herself some warm cinnamon churros sold by a local vendor. She felt like she deserved to treat herself today. After all, things were looking up. Joining up with Omar's band had been a good decision on her part, as it gave her the opportunity to throw herself into something. Singing was making her feel good, and it provided a nice distraction if any unwanted thoughts were creeping up on her. Sure, she still had her bad days every now and then, but Weiss knew those would never go away. The wounds she'd suffered might heals, but the scars would always remain. She tried not to feel too down about it though. Plenty of people lived happy, normal lives, even though they had scars. She munched on a churro, letting herself bask in the positive vibes she was feeling.

Wally hadn't exactly been surprised to find that there were not many jobs around. He knew that being the daily delivery boy was nice but it wasn't the stable job that could allow him to support himself. He rubbed his neck in frustration, crossing off another dead end. The thought of possibly seeing if someone needed his help at the Other Units was something but Wally wasn't very good with working with strict people.
Gotta keep trying though. He folded up the newspaper and stuck it in his pocket before rubbing his gloved hands together. The one time he wished he could have had fire gift. Thankfully, he kept his pace to warm up. His day was getting better though. He knew that white hair anywhere, Weiss!
He hadn't seen her since their run in when he was Kid Flash. She seemed different. There was a different glow about her. It was nice to see. Pushing himself into a small jog, the speedster gave him a small bit of speed to at least get a little bit of distance. "Hey there gorgeous." he said giving a small salute.

Weiss jumped as a voice addressed her, and she was surprised to see that it was Wally. Honestly, she hadn't been sure if she would ever see him again. The few encounters they had had been...bumpy, to say the least. No matter how weird or bitchy or depressed Weiss had acted, Wally hadn't really seemed to mind it too much. He hadn't been turned off by anything she'd said. Their last conversation had ended pretty abruptly though, as Weiss had practically run off when she'd found that Wally could get her to open up much easier than anybody else could. And with all the secrets she'd been hiding at the time, she'd considered that a threat. He crossed her mind every now and again, and now suddenly here he was, complete with a smile and a pick-up line. He didn't seem to harbor any grudge against her, although Weiss couldn't be sure. So far, her friends and family had been pretty forgiving about how she'd acted during her time with the shadow spirits. Would Wally be the same? "Wally, hi," she said, her voice a little breathless from the surprise she felt. "Um...how's it going?"

He was glad that he had surprised her. It was nice to see a bit of spark in that life and no anger which is what he would have expected. Then again, there was something different about the voodoo queen. She looked...not healthy but joyful. He leaned against his open hands as he put his arms behind his head. The last time they had seen each other, things had been tense and Weiss had looked like she wanted to be anywhere but in Bellarouge. He was glad to see her.
"Nothing much, what about you?"

"I guess you could say...a lot has happened, since we last met," Weiss said. She wondered how much Wally knew. She knew the tabloids and forums on the Internet had practically had a field day when it was discovered that Weiss's parents had tried to cover up her shadow spirit problem instead of getting her help. But who knew how much attention Wally paid to that sort of thing. Not everyone was totally engrossed in her family's life and any scandals that involved them. "Um...you want one?" she asked, holding out her bag of churros to him. "Or I could buy some for you. My treat." It was a hasty offer, but that was a habit of Weiss's when trying to make people forgive her. She spent money on them, or at least tried to. Her parents tended to do the same when trying to gain someone's favor. Most of her friends had waved away any money she tended to throw at them though. Heck, she'd been ready to offer Omar plenty of cash to let her into his band, and he'd accepted her without a second thought.

"What kind of gentleman would I be to make a lady buy me food." he said pretending to be shocked putting a hand to his chest in mock defense. Even if he was a bit short on cash, he didn't want to impose, but that churro smelled so good, he was just glad he wasn't drooling over her. That would be embarrassing. The look in her eyes made her not want to refuse. "Thank you." he said before taking one of the churros and biting into it.
His green eyes looked out at the park before at her again. He had heard in passing about Thrax's death. Wally had been both relieved that he wouldn't be around to hurt anyone else, but he also wished that the hero had had the chance to punch his lights out first hand. His green eyes glanced at her through the corner of his eye. "Yeah I bet, I heard about that demon's death. That must be a relief huh?"

As expected. Wally wouldn't let Weiss throw her money around, although he did accept one of her churros. She knew that was a bad habit of hers she needed to break. Money wouldn't solve all her problems, and it wouldn't make everyone forgive her. As if they needed bribery in the first place though. Wally mentioned Thrax and Weiss felt her fist tighten around the bag of churros. Any allusion towards the demon, whether his name was said or not, could still give her the heebie-jeebies sometimes. He frequented her nightmares often, although not as much as the shadow spirits. He'd just hurt her physically. She'd gotten over those injuries quick enough. Her shadow spirits had hurt her mentally. Getting over them would take a bit more time. "Yeah, a relief," she said. It looked like Wally didn't know anything about the shadow spirits. While talking about them still made her nervous, she figured that was the least she could do for Wally. He deserved an explanation as to why she'd been acting so weird around him in the past. "So...about the last few times we talked..." She paused for a moment before continuing. "I know I was acting...weird and moody and stuff. There's a reason for that. It doesn't...excuse anything, but it'll explain it, at least."

The sigh she gave was either relief or sad, there wasn't enough to tell but it looked like she wanted to tell him something important. There was no reason to even be funny, this was a serious moment. One that Wally wouldn't do anything to mess up. "Okay, you have my full attention." he said, turning to face her with full attention. He wouldn't be funny or crack jokes. She needed to tell him, he would be a gentleman and listen

Weiss could see the shift on Wally's face. He was listening seriously now. She just had to get the words out. She let out a breath before starting to talk. "So, back during Mardi Gras, I ended up fighting Thrax. He was nearby, and I thought I could take him on. There was this girl that he was about to kill, and I stepped in before he could finish her off. But I was in way over my head, and in desperation I...ended up summoning these spirits. They were dark creatures, and looked more like shadows than anything else. Anyway, they helped me fend Thrax off, and I managed to give him a scar. But, he gave me one too." She pointed to the faint scar that rested over her left eye. "The shadow spirits wouldn't leave me alone after that. I didn't know what to make of them at first. But, over the next several months, they began to manipulate me, and try to get me walking down a dark path. They had me practicing darker spells, they said they were the only ones who were really my friends, and...I believed them." She paused for a moment before continuing. "That's why I got so tense with everyone, including you. They were telling me not to trust you. And I was afraid of what everyone might think if they found out I was partnered with these things. My parents were the first ones to discover them, and they got rid of them temporarily. But they didn't tell anyone. They thought it would damage our reputation. But they came back, and eventually... they took control of me. My brother managed to banish them for good with some light voodoo magic, but it didn't change the fact that I'd still been hurt by them." She wrapped her arms around herself, trying not to remember that night too much. "So, now I'm here, trying to get better. I'm living with my brother now, and my parents are going to get dragged under the bus for all the neglect they've been doing over the years. People have been talking about it online for ages." She glanced at Wally. "What I'm trying to say is, if I've ever been a bitch to you, I'm sorry."

That was a lot of information to take in at once. He had known Thrax had done bad things but to cause all that. It was a lot to take in. He didn't speak for a long time, it did answer a lot of questions though, and it made Wally have a ton of respect for Weiss's brother and less respect for her parents. How could they just ignore their daughter's wishes, and the pain she was going through. "...Wow." he said after a long time. "I...uh, geez that's a lot of information to absorb." He rubbed his neck with a look of sadness. "I can understand why you were angry though, all that happening, I would probably be that way too. So, you are forgiven."
He proceeded to give her a grin to show as much. "But why tell me all this? You didn't have to."

Weiss's arms wrapped around her middle, nervousness quelling in her stomach as the silence between her and Wally stretched. What was he thinking? What was he going to say? But, like everyone else in her social circle, he forgave her for any bitchy things she might have done in the past. She knew her whole story was a lot to take in, but at least he wasn't too freaked out by it all. At his question though, she fell silent. Why had she just blabbed about all that to him? She didn't even like talking about this with other people. Riku usually told her story to people that were curious, and if they got too nosy, her Aunt Sarah stepped in to tell them to buzz off. She was quiet for a moment before she answered. "I know I didn't. I just...I felt like you deserved to know the truth. You were always so nice to me, but I didn't act the same way towards you. I know that probably...confused you."

Wally nodded. "I understand, like i said, if i had that happen to me I would probably be like that too." He was sure that it would have been the case. Some days he thought if he hadn't found an outlet to his powers, he would have probably been worse off, probably off being a fighter in an underground fight club or something. "I'm glad you are okay though. I mean, you do seem like you are feeling better. You got a glow about you now."
Ah geez. Did that sound too cheesy. He hoped not.

Wally seemed pretty understanding, and he wasn't too weirded out that Weiss had unloaded so much baggage on him. That was a big relief to her. Maybe she wouldn't have to beg everyone's forgiveness regarding the whole shadow spirit incident. Maybe they just cared about her enough to forgive her without a second thought. It was still kind of a baffling idea to her, but she was willing to take it if it meant not drowning in guilt so much. She gave a little laugh at his comment about her glowing. "You're not the first person to say that," she said. Everyone agreed that she was looking better. Riku, Elsa, even Omar. And he hadn't even known her that long. Using music as an outlet was really doing wonders for her. It didn't totally erase all her problems, but it sure made them a whole lot easier to deal with.

Wally gave a smirk. "I have a way of noticing things about people. It became sort of a habit when I got my powers." He replied. That much was true, moving so fast that even people didn't notice, Wally had been able to catch little things about them, like ticks and objects. People might have assumed that his world moved on fast-foward but to him when he was in full on running, the world slowed down. "Thanks for telling me."

Weiss could agree with that. Even though Wally hadn't really known about her shadow spirit problem back then, he could at least tell that things were off with her. The only other people who could do that were those who really knew her. But he'd been able to pick up on it instantly. Weiss wondered how much of it was Wally's ability to read people though, and whether she'd just become more of an open book these days. She'd tried so hard to keep herself closed off from everyone for so long. Maybe that was why she'd let something slip every now and then. Part of her was just desperate to let everything out. At least the truth was out in the open now and she could stop hiding her problems so much. She gave a nod as Wally thanked her for telling him what was going on. "No problem," she replied. She felt a little better, now that he knew the truth. And he was okay with it too. It was like a win-win situation. She brushed a lock of hair out of her face, deciding to change the subject. "So, besides dealing my mood swings, what else have you been up to?" she asked.
