Wally's smile slowly turned to a small frown as he took out the newspaper in his hand. "Looking for jobs actually." He folded the paper back again, trying to hide all the red x-marks on the pages. "Can't really earn a living saving the world and while delievery jobs are good its not exactly a steady living."
He couldn't really afford to live on his own with the money he was earning. In fact he was pretty sure that he was breaking quite a few laws by even living alone.

"Are you sure about that?" Weiss asked. "I met a superhero a few weeks ago that had super speed like you. Maybe he can hook you up or something." Granted, Kid Flash probably didn't get paid for saving people and stuff, but maybe he could help Wally out in some way. Wally wasn't exactly knowledgeable about the job market. She didn't really need to worry about earning money right now, and she didn't really get paid for the stuff she did with Omar's band. Money wasn't important to her right now anyway. Her parents constantly chased after it and it made her sick to her stomach. Of course, for someone like Wally, making enough money to live on was a priority. She wished she could help in some way.

Act surprised. She can't know that you were that hero. Act cool and surprised, but not too surprised. "Really? There's another hero out there with speed like mine?" he cocked his eyebrow and crossed his arms with a stubborn look. "Who would have thought, and here I thought i was special, oh well, maybe I will hook him up." Darn he hated lying to her but it was better this way. He needed to just keep looking for information and then only then, he could tell her. Keep her safe. Weiss may hate him for it afterwards but he couldn't risk it. "Thanks for asking, and glad things are doing better for you." He didn't want to ask but it was on his mind ."Have the press been on your case?"

Weiss gave a smile. She hoped Kid Flash could help Wally in some way. And she hoped he was doing alright. The only reason she'd really talked to him at length was because of his warning about Eve. Her arms wrapped around herself, wondering what his encounter with her had been like. She'd liked Eve at first, but now that she wasn't being influenced by her shadow spirits anymore, she knew how dangerous it had been to be taking advice from someone like her. Their last meeting had been a long time ago, and it was hard for Weiss to remember some of the finer details. She remembered one moment where she'd been very angry, so angry that she thought she'd explode. Then, it had suddenly stopped, and Eve was gone. She didn't know exactly what happened, but the memory left a slightly sick feeling in her stomach. She looked up, realizing that she'd been spacing out and Wally had asked her a question. "Not too much," she said. "They know I've got some friends that'll jump down their throats if they try anything." Riku was a skilled witch doctor, Elsa was a top-notch lawyer, and Aunt Sarah had a short temper. Reporters were hesitant to cross any of them.

"That's good." He said nodding, if he had been in his superhero costume and had seen the press he would have given them something more than that. He would have surprised them really bad. It was still nice to see Weiss so happy. Despite all she went through, she was willing to keep going, it meant she was strong. He was glad that he warned her about Eve when he did. Something told him that voodoo queen with shadow spirits plus that demon would be bad news. "Powerful friends huh, remind me if I meet them to get on their good side." he smiled brushign the small amounts of cinamon off his pants and turned to the horizon. "It's nice to see the city like this at peace for a day. With all the news in the papers, the city deserves a chance to have some down time."

"I'm sure you'd get along fine with them," Weiss said. "Some of them are part of the upper class, but they're not jerks. Their hearts aren't connected to their wallets." Even before she'd left her parents, Weiss had appreciated having friends like Adrien and Elsa, who knew some of the struggles of being part of a rich family. Everyone had such high expectations of you while also trying to butter you up to get some kind of favor. They could go from praising you to criticizing you in a flash, depending on what they wanted. It was infuriating to deal with, and it made it difficult to form real relationships with people. At least Weiss wouldn't have that problem anymore. "Let's just hope it actually lasts a while, and doesn't end up just becoming the calm before the storm," she commented. She agreed with Wally: having things so peaceful was nice. But how long would it last? Bellerouge was a tumultuous city. With so many Others and humans packed into one place, things were bound to boil over eventually. The only question was when it would happen, and how big of an effect it would be.

"That's good, we need more people like that." The old him would have said, "i thought you would be like that." since he was always sour towards those kinds of people but after getting to know Weiss, he realized there was more to people then just the houses and money that those people had. The idea of the peace being broken was something to come for another day. "For now, its nice to just enjoy it." He turned his gaze towards the sky. "When that trouble comes, we will deal with it."

Weiss nodded. The city did need more people like that. If others just acted a bit more like Adrien and Elsa, maybe things would be a bit better. At least she had abandoned her old ways and was trying to better herself now. Better late than never. Although she wondered if part of her would always regret taking so long to come around. Riku had managed to leave much sooner than she had. Even when she'd known how bad her parents were, she'd wanted to stay so she could have a chance of gaining some control in her life. She let out a breath, trying not to let her negative thoughts overwhelm her. She couldn't change what happened in the past. She had to keep telling herself that. At least she was here now, trying to do better and being nicer. That was good enough. Wally seemed pretty optimistic that they could handle whatever troubles the future had in store, and she tried to take some comfort in his positive outlook. "You remind me of my brother's fiance," she commented. "Always looking on the bright side of things."

When his mom had died, he hated the world and had wanted nothing more to believe in. He had thought that there was little faith in the world after that. Then he discovered he could use his powers to help people. Be a hero that others could look up to. When he saw that what he was doing made the world a bit of a better place did he really start to believe again. "I try to at least. My mom always taught me to look at the positive rather than the negative." He smiled leaning back on the bench thinking about it. He wondered what would happened if Weiss had met his mom. How different life would have been.

"She sounds nice," Weiss commented. At least, compared to her own mom. Her mother used to be nicer, but that was early in Weiss's life. She could barely remember it. But the toxic family dynamic had turned her hard and cold. She and Weiss's dad were like a unit, always coming onto her and Riku with full force to make sure they stayed in line and didn't embarrass the family name. It looked like Wally was on good terms with his mom though. He spoke of her fondly. Weiss wondered if she could ever get to a point where she could look at her parents and not be filled with fear and hate. She wasn't ready to forgive them for how they'd treated her, and she wasn't sure if she ever would be.

"She would have been proud to know how you stood up for yourself. She liked people who refused to be walked on." He didn't know his father and the teen wasn't sure if it would have changed anything. The rest of his family was a mystery. He wished that Weiss's parents treated her differently. Obviously, he didn't know about the whole high-class family problems but the boy wished that Weiss's parents could see how strong their daughter was. How being different wasn't a bad thing.

Weiss looked up, finally catching on that Wally referred to his mom in the past tense. He spoke about things she would have liked, not necessarily things she did like, almost as if she wasn't here anymore. "Is your mom still around?" she asked, before realizing that that had the potential to be too personal a question. She immediately looked away, saying "Sorry. I...shouldn't have asked." She didn't know what made that slip out. Could she and Wally even be close enough to talk about stuff like that? Sure, she trusted him enough to give out some of the gritty details of her life, but that didn't necessarily mean that that trust was reciprocated.

Wally smiled and shook his head. It wasn't easy to talk about but Weiss hadn't asked the way others had. Many hadn't really considered how his feelings were taken into account so it didn't bother him when Weiss asked. "No, she's not around anymore. She passed away not too long ago." Murdered had been a strong word that he almost wanted to say had happened but he held his tongue on that. "You wanted to know, nothing wrong with wanting to know, at least you considered your words." Some kids would blurt out anything no matter how hurtful.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Weiss said. She knew that probably wouldn't make Wally feel better, but it was the customary thing to say when someone spoke of a loved one they'd lost. Although Wally didn't seem to feel too bad about it. At least he didn't think Weiss had asked in a rude way. Maybe her social skills weren't as lame as she had thought. Or maybe Wally was just very forgiving of her. Who knew? She found it ironic though. Wally's mom was a good person, yet she'd lost her life. Her parents were horrible people, but they were still around. Granted, she wasn't sure she wanted them dead, but death seemed to act in ways like that a lot. It seemed to take a lot of the good people while leaving the bad. She wondered if Wally's dad had died too. But she decided not to ask about that right now. Asking about his mom was enough venturing into sensitive territory for today.

Wally rubbed his wrist nervously, but shook his head. "It's alright, its not like you knew about it." he replied. "There was a fire sometime ago. I wasn't fast enough to get there in time," though at the time he had only just discovered his powers, so one couldn't blame him. However, he blamed himself. His green eyes turned back to the horizon. "That's why I am trying to help others with my powers."
