Aqua decided to hit up Tony's Pizza instead of her usual diner on her way home. She had gotten off a shift at work. She and Riku were slowly working on getting things better. They were taking things slowly. She and Omar were moving forward too. Tentative texts here and there (mostly from her since he wasn't as tech savvy). Not to mention, she had missed going to his performances, since his hands were still healing they would have to put that on hold but she could still listen to him at the poetry slams, not that they had gotten that far. Adrien's party had literally just been last week.
She smiled and took her pizza to a table. It smelled absolutely divine. It made sense that this was a favorite of a lot of the police officers at the precinct. The perfect amount of garlic and sauce ratio, melted cheese and other toppings, with a sweet tea to chase it all down. The shop was cute and quaint. A small business that happened to boom, just like Nevermore. Though, Aqua wouldn't be surprised if the cooks in the back were equally as gifted in cooking as the Seddon family.

Yang knew that eating too much junk food wasn't the best for her, but when a craving for pizza hit, she couldn't ignore it. Sure, she could swing by Adrien's house and his army of personal chefs could make a pizza for her in no time, but Tony's was a favorite of hers. She'd frequented the place quite a bit during her days on the streets, and her kids had liked it too. Nothing had been better than having enough cash to get a couple of pizzas and split them between the five of them. The kids always tried to see who could eat the most slices in one sitting, which Yang had found amusing. She had just been content to let them eat as much as she wanted. Even though she could probably eat a whole box herself if she wanted to, she got a single slice of pepperoni, along with a pepsi. The place wasn't too crowded, although Yang soon spotted someone she recognized. The blue hair was kind of hard to miss. "Hey Aqua!" she called, waving with the hand that held her soda while the other gripped her pizza.

Aqua looked up when she heard someone call out her name. She smiled before waving Yang over. She could use the company. She was in a much better mood now that she was finally getting her life in order. The party had done something good for her. Aqua now had her partner back. She had braved things with Omar once and for all. She was all but floating on cloud nine at the moment. Aqua almost felt like she was glowing in absolute happiness. Yang was doing much better too. She had hit rock bottom but had made something better for herself. In a way, they both climbed and fought their way back up to where they were.
"How are you Yang?" she asked. "Would you like to join me?"

"Doing good, doing good," Yang replied with a smile. "About to overload on calories, but hey, we all have to treat ourselves every once in a while, right?" A little pizza and soda every now and then wouldn't hurt. Besides, she'd probably burn it all off with her next workout, or if she got tangled up in something intense on her next shift. Granted though, the most action she'd seen so far had been with the mysterious skeleton thief she and Pitch had run into. She hadn't seen any signs of him since their last encounter, and Yang wondered if the Others Unit was missing something or if this guy was just biding his time until his next robbery. Either way, she wanted to get him. She didn't want her first mission to end up in failure. She shook any gloomy thoughts about the case though as Aqua asked if she wanted to join her. "Sure," she replied as she sat down across from her blue-haired friend. "How's life been treating you?" Omar and Aqua had left Adrien's party all smiles, and Yang hoped it meant things were heating up between them.

"Of course," Aqua laughed. "Pizza was just too good to say no."
She didn't often eat out, but she had gone through a lot that week. She and Riku caught some earth elemental that was robbing electronic stores of all things. Turns out he was turning around and selling the goods at his store. One way of keeping costs low, she supposed. She had also gone toe to toe with Dorian. That hadn't been fun, but she had things that were going good for her. She was trying to put the negative things behind her, end the week on a good note, like pizza. Warm, greasy, and tasty.
"Things have been... good," she said, a little shyly.
She knew what Yang was hinting at. The last time she had seen her, they had been talking love lives. Namely, Aqua going after Omar once and for all. She had to fight to keep a straight face. The whole 'relationship' thing made her feel juvenile. Like she was a giggling gossipy teenager. She has still coming to terms with the fact that yes, Omar was her boyfriend. They hadn't gone out to do anything yet, but it hadn't been long, not even a few days.
"I uh," she cleared her throat, "Took your advice and asked Omar out."

Yang had to smile at Aqua's slightly hesitant answer, and her grin grew even bigger when she basically confirmed that she'd asked Omar out. "Knew you'd come around," she said with a wink. Aqua and Omar would be good for each other, she just knew it. She knew Omar wouldn't fall for just any Joe-schmoe. It'd be someone special. And Aqua deserved a guy like Omar after all the heartbreak she'd suffered from Terra. "At the rate my friends are hooking up, we'll be going on quadruple dates or something," she joked. Love was certainly in the air, and Yang felt like that was a good thing. Although she knew it wasn't happening to everyone. Shadow was still in the friend zone, although he finally seemed completely cool with Sunshine and Riku. Maybe now he could finally that all behind him and move on, maybe find someone in the future.

"I think it's a bit early to say it's hooking up." Aqua said quickly. "We're taking things slow."
Omar was a sweet guy. But Aqua was still afraid to jump into anything too quickly. She had a lot of concerns about starting something with him, namely pissing off other faeries who might actually succeed in killing him if they went after him again. She didn't think she could take more blood on her hands. Dorian might have mocked her for being a 'delicate little brat' crying out for attention but she didn't want this sort of attention. She didn't want pity. She just wanted what everyone else had, friends and family who cared.
"I'm certainly not jumping onto a jet with him to some private island unlike some people," she teased.

"Hey, whatever floats your boat. I'm not judging," Yang said. Omar and Aqua hooking up did have its consequences. She still got mad anytime she thought about Omar and the injuries he'd suffered. She knew Omar wanted her to stay out of the whole conflict for her own safety, but she still had half a mind to punch the culprits in the face if they ever tried hurting him again. That tended to be her reaction when her loved ones were in pain, which often led to her getting in trouble. But that part of her wasn't about to change anytime soon. Aqua changed the subject to Yang's love life though, and made a joke about their little escape to Adrien's private island. "Hey, that was a nice vacation," she objected. "Adrien finally got me to not be scared stiff of the water. I consider that an accomplishment." Granted, she wasn't about to become a professional swimmer or anything, but he'd certainly helped her be more chill with the river that ran near her house. It hadn't made her feel queasy or scared in a very long time.

"To be honest, I don't know what I'm doing." Aqua admitted, "There's not exactly a playbook for how to start dating after your ex is killed by a demon."
All she knew was that she liked being with Omar. He understood her, probably better than most of the guys she had also tried to date who either wanted to move too fast or were self absorbed. She had a long list of guys who never made it past date one after Terra. Omar had managed to finagle a few out of her before she even knew that he was trying to court her. For now, Aqua was going on pure feeling - good feelings. Not easy for her to do, but she was trying. Her worries about what their relationship meant did get the better of her from time to time.
"I know," Aqua said softly. "And he's been real good to you."

"Who ever knows what they're doing when they're dating?" Yang said with a laugh. "If someone ever did write a playbook like that though, he'd probably become a millionaire overnight." Dating advice was always sought after by a lot of people. People always wanted to know what to do, what the next step was. But really, every situation was different, and sometimes, you just had to go with your gut. That was what Yang had done. Her mind had been telling her to kiss Adrien when she'd gone to comfort him after his father's death, and that was exactly what she'd done. Sometimes she still felt like she could have revealed her feelings in a more appropriate way, but Adrien hadn't seemed to mind. Falling into a relationship had kind of been easy, because in a way, they'd been doing it for a while. They just hadn't admitted their feelings to each other at the time. Talking about the tough stuff, spending time together, they still did that as a couple. There was just a bit more kissing and "I love you's" involved. She nodded in agreement with what Aqua said. "Yeah, he has," she replied. She gave a little chuckle before saying "What'd we ever do to get guys like Adrien and Omar? Am I right?" In a way, Aqua and Yang had both been broken people. The loss of Terra had hit Aqua hard, and Yang's spirit had been broken by the loss of her arm. Yet Omar had been there to help Aqua give love a second chance, and Adrien had helped Yang get back on her feet. They were lucky to have guys like them by their side.

"I'd only believe it if a cupid wrote it," Aqua laughed.
There were plenty of people out there who claimed to be love experts. Cupids themselves were truly the one and only love expert out there that everyone could trust. She supposed the best advice she had gotten in regards to her heart was from Yang and Sunshine. To give Omar the chance he had so desperately asked for. She simply didn't know what to do since the depths of his feelings for her did strike her by surprise. He had already broken out with how much he 'loved' her. It was intimidating. But the only way she would ever get past her own hangups was to try. She hadn't been doing that in the time that Terra was gone. She hadn't been living since Terra had gone.
"I.. honestly, didn't expect this." Aqua said. "I mean I arrested Omar! In a bar fight! Not to mention his own personal history with cops and faeries..."
It was hard to move past these things. The fact that Omar was choosing someone who was both an officer and a faery told her about his internal strength. She wasn't sure what he saw in her. After Dorian's dressing down she felt even worse about herself.

"Hey, when I first met Adrien, I was ready to burn his face off," Yang said with a laugh. "I doubt most couples have stellar beginnings." At least Adrien had gotten over that pretty quickly. Although Yang had to admit that any forbidden romance going on between her and Adrien was kind of long gone at this point. Most people were either cool with them being together, or indifferent on the subject. Anyone who minded were usually stuffy upper-class people that Adrien couldn't care less about. Omar and Aqua's forbidden romance was a bit more complicated. The stakes were a lot higher, and some people weren't afraid to do dirty things if it meant voicing their opinion on their relationship loud and clear. Yang wished they'd just get over themselves and leave Omar and Aqua be.

"Aside from Riku and Sunshine?"
The power couple was too adorable to have any bad beginnings. It was more of their past hurts that caused any problems for them. They didn't have to worry about their own kind trying to kill their loved one just because they were 'inferior' or that the media would take their love as a scandal because Riku aws no longer a big part of the LaFayette society. Though, it did end up in the papers, so maybe? She didn't know. She only wished this was less complicated. That things weren't going to end up getting someone killed.
"So, saw that Omar gave Adrien the third degree about Namine. How'd that go?"

Yang chuckled. "Yeah, aside from them," she answered. As far as she knew, their relationship had progressed relatively normally: they'd met through work, they'd gone on some dates, then Riku proposed. Although the circumstances where they met hadn't been entirely happy. Shadow had been missing for a while at the time, and Riku had been Sunshine's partner a few times while he'd been away. Sunshine had been worried about him, as had everybody. Aqua then asked how Omar and Adrien's chat had been during the party. "I think it went well," she said. "Omar knows Adrien's going to treat Namine well. And I know he is too. With both his parents gone, she's kind of the only flesh and blood he has left. He's not about to squander that away." Family meant everything to Adrien, whether they were actually related to him or not. After having such a depressing family life for so long, Yang knew he was determined to build it back up so it was a happier one instead. She was happy to see his social circle filling up with people who actually cared about him.

"I have a feeling he's getting a two for one deal with Namine and Adrien." Aqua mused.
It was his biggest fault and greatest quality all at once. Even though it infuriated her to the bone. He didn't seem to have any sense of self preservation. Not even after he had been tortured, he had volunteered - on Shadow's behalf - to talk to Unseelie faeries about things Shadow needed to know about Disparion. From the sounds of things, Adrien needed a positive role model in his life too. His dad was an absentee parent at best. Omar collected the broken souls and did what he could to repair them, with lots of love and lots of attention. Still, he managed to look past her brokenness and see something in her that she didn't. For the second time in her life, someone chose her. If she were in his shoes, she wouldn't pick her.
"So... If Adrien decides to marry you, who does he ask permission from? Shadow or Omar?" she teased. "Or both?"
