"Ooo, that'll be nice," Yang said. Of course, her job took up quite a bit of her time too, but at least she'd wanted to be a cop. The fashion company had just sort of fallen into Adrien's lap without warning. At least he'd done a good job of making sure it didn't fall to pieces after his father's death. And Yang felt like the changes he was making would make it even better. Gabriel had been a harsh guy, but now that Adrien was in charge, the whole mood of the company had slowly changed. Yang felt like the same could be said about the Other's Unit. Each person had their personality and strengths to bring to the table, and each member made the Unit unique. Take one person away and the whole dynamic changed. "Well, we couldn't stay kids forever," Yang said with a smile. "And I think we're settling into adulthood nicely."
"Yang! Yang!"
"Speaking of kids..." Yang's smile grew as Cody and Penny came running back, their faces red from all the exercise they'd been getting.
"We've been running around this park for ages," Cody said while panting for breath. "Have we seen all of it yet?"
"Buddy, I don't think we've even crossed the halfway point," Yang said with a laugh.
"What?" Penny was aghast at that news. "When did this park get so big?"
"It's always been big, trust me," Yang assured her. "Maybe you guys should walk for a bit? Your faces look like cherries."
"Yeah, we ran for, like, ever," Cody said, pointing to the path ahead where he and Penny had chased each other back and forth like crazy.
"I wanna walk. I'm getting tired," Penny said, dragging her feet in mock exhaustion, which made Yang laugh again.
"Come here, girlie girl," Yang said, bending down in front of Penny. The girl instantly brightened up as she climbed onto Yang's shoulders.
Cody instantly looked up at Adrien. "Can I get a piggy back ride too?" he asked him.

"We can go on another date to celebrate," he coaxed. "I think it's your turn to decide what we do."
He couldn't stop the smile on his face. He was glad she appreciated the work he had put into the company now that he took over. He wanted to leave the city something good when he passed on. Jobs and a happier community seemed like a good start. But speaking of happy, the kids came barreling towards them, all grins and boundless energy. That's how his childhood should have been like, but he was going to make sure these two got to stay kids for as long as they could before they had to rush into adulthood.
"Huh?"
He had been taken back when Cody asked him for a piggyback ride. But he smiled, ruffled the boy's hair and knelt down so he could climb on. Once he was situated, he slowly stood back up as not to jar the child. He hadn't worked out in a while, but he was still strong enough to lift the boy and walk. He glanced over at Yang before trying to peer over his shoulder at the boy.
"All situated?" he asked.

That was an idea Yang could get behind. The get-away to the beach had been a great way for them to spend some romantic time together, even if she was still recovering from the loss of her arm. Now that she was feeling better, their next trip could be even better. Exotic locations flashed through her mind for a moment, from tropical rain forests to sprawling cities with lights that shined like diamonds. But she put a lid on it before she could get ahead of herself. She could think about that later. Besides, she didn't want to get too extravagant with her ideas. The more extravagant the destination was, the more money it would cost. Although Adrien would probably say that no price was too big if it meant spending some alone time with her. And really, the location wasn't the most important thing. Being with Adrien was. She had to keep that in mind. Before she could think more about the subject, she saw Cody asked for a piggy back ride from Adrien. Yang couldn't help but beam as he let the little boy climb onto his shoulders. When Adrien asked if he was situated, Cody nodded.
"Look at you Adrien Agreste, you're a natural with kids," she complimented.

"Ha, you flatter me," he replied, "You don't know that. I've... never really spent a lot of time around kids."
He readjusted his hold on Cody, to make sure the boy wouldn't slip off his back. He offered Yang a meek smile. Adrien didn't know the first thing about kids. It's why an outing with Yang and her kids was so important to him. He didn't know if he was making a good impression or not with them. Especially since he dismissed their questions about marrying Yang. They weren't ready for that yet. But someday, maybe. He almost felt like he'd have to ask a long number of people for their permission to marry her before he did anything. Starting with the kids.

"Oh come on, he likes you," Yang said. "Right Cody?"
"Yeah," Cody agreed, nodding firmly. Sure, PDA was gross to a kid like him, but Adrien made Yang happy. That was a good enough reason for him to like him. And Penny felt the same way.
"Me too," she added. Yang had had to interact with some colorful characters while they'd been living on the streets, and not all of them had been kid. But Adrien was nice and gentle. He treated Yang well, and he was nice to her and Cody, even though they'd never met before. He didn't mind Yang bringing them along on their date. Not all guys were like that, and she knew it.

"Thanks you guys." He said.
He ducked his head to hide his pink cheeks. He supposed all of his worrying was for nothing. The kids seemed to approve of him and he was certain that Yang liked him. Still, he was slightly embarrassed that he had put so much worrying in what the kids thought of him. He hadn't wanted their disapproval to make Yang reconsider him. Though, he was used to people walking away after they got what they wanted. He supposed it was why he wanted her to be happy with him. Yang had given him no doubts that she was.

Yang was pleased to see Adrien smile, and so were her kids. Families had been a rough thing for them for a while. They'd either lost them, like Yang had lost her parents, or were treated like crap by them, like Cody and Penny with their alcoholic parents. But they'd managed to fill the void left in them by making their own family. For a while, it had just been them, along with Jenny and Louie. Then, the kids had found other people to take care of them, and Yang got to build more positive relationships with other people. They had a new family now, filled with people that cared about them. And they were glad to include Adrien in it.
