Yang's face fell. "Oh, no, I didn't...I didn't mean it like that," she said quickly. "I just...he just seems kind of stoic, you know? Doesn't show a whole lot. He's usually the calm one and I'm the hothead whenever we work together." She'd seen first-hand that demons weren't just all bad things. Sure, Thrax and Vanitas lived up to that reputation, but Moses didn't. And Shadow didn't either. "He hasn't mentioned a lover to me," she said. "Then again, I guess we usually don't talk about that kind of stuff. If I started going on about Adrien, he'd probably tell me to can it anyway." Pitch hadn't seemed like the type of guy to talk about mushy stuff like that.

Moses nodded. "I see what you mean. He's a very calm and strong person. You two balance each other nicely in your work, don't you? I mean, you're the one that fights, and he strategizes" Moses laughed a little. "He mentioned he knew how I felt, and so I realized he was seeing someone. So I think that was more a slip on his part than an actual admittance. But I am happy for him, he's a good man" Moses chuckled. "He isn't the 'talk about feelings' type, is he? It's okay, maybe his lover will show up and you can meet them"

"I guess that's one way of looking at it," Yang said. "The commissioner said we could pack a lot of power if we fought together. That was his main reason. So far, we haven't run into anything yet that could test that method." Of course, she was sure he had a point. Yang's power was literally explosive, and Pitch could unleash holy hell if he got riled up enough. If the two of them got pissed off at the same time, they could do some major damage. "You're pretty close with him, huh?" she said musingly. She knew Moses looked up to Pitch and stuff, and Pitch had helped him out a lot with his demon problems, but Yang had never gotten the gritty details about their relationship.

Moses nodded. "Makes sense, shadow and light, combined? It's a force to be reckoned with. I don't want to see that combo though, honestly" that combination meant that Pitch or Yang alone was overpowered, and that was a scary thought. They were pretty powerful, and would be near unstoppable together. What would match that? He didn't want to find out. Moses shrugged. "I...don't really know. He seems to look out for me, and was genuinely upset when he found out I had gone against his advice, but he softened up when I told him why I'd ignored him. When I told him I was following my heart" Moses swallowed and looked down. "He's more of a dad than my actual dad, honestly. I respect him and don't ever want to make him disappointed in me, not again"

A father figure huh? That made sense. Yang didn't know the details about Moses's dad, but she knew enough to know that he was a major douchebag. She couldn't picture Pitch being the warm, fuzzy father figure, but it seemed that whatever he did was enough for Moses. It seemed that he'd seen the demon's softer side. Yang herself had only seen it twice: once when he'd helped her come down from a panic attack after her near-drowning experience, and when she'd been feeling down after the loss of her arm and he'd seemed sure that she hadn't lost the spark inside her entirely. He could be a motivational guy when he chose to be. Yang wondered if she'd ever see that side of him more often. "Kind of reminds me of me and Omar," she said, smiling a little. "He was practically the closest thing I had to a dad after I lost my parents. He always gave me those talks about picking my fights more carefully and stuff, although I didn't listen a whole lot." She gave a laugh. "He's always looked out for me though. Gotta love him for that, you know?"

Moses smiled. "Yea, gotta love father figures. I wonder what Pitch would do if I got him a father's day card for a joke" he chuckled a little and shook his head. "It's okay though, because they are looking out for us. They don't care we aren't actually their kids, they care just as strongly. And like, there's no reason? But they do anyway, it's crazy"

Yang snickered at the thought of that. "It might be worth it just to see the look on his face," she laughed. Pitch wasn't exactly the type of guy you got cards for. Then again, she couldn't exactly picture herself getting something like that for any other of her guy co-workers either. She didn't know Dimitri, Jim, or Riku well enough to do it, and if she was getting Shadow a gift, it wouldn't be a card unless it had some crude humor on it. "Seems like that's happened to a lot of us," she said thoughtfully. "We lost our families, or the ones we have are complete shit, so we kind of make our own." Yang felt like she definitely fit into that category. She was family-less after losing her parents, and had slowly built up her own with the people she cared about. Now, the friends she had were like her family, and while she'd always miss her parents, she was glad for the new family she'd made for herself.

Moses laughed. "Right? I'd be almost afraid, and I'm not sure what he'd do but it'd be funny" Almost worth doing it after all. but again, he wasn't sure what Pitch would do and was rather afraid to find out. He smiled a little. "Yea, I hear ya. So many people have broken families, but are making better or stronger ones and healing. It makes me rather happy"

Moses seemed to agree with her on the subject of families. In a way, he was much like her when it came to that. The only difference was that his dad was still around. Although given that he was a total asshole, he might as well be dead to Moses. Yang knew that was how she'd probably feel if she had a father like that. "And now, I guess Vanitas has kind of been added to your family, right?" she said. It still felt odd, thinking about him being in a serious relationship with Moses. But, Moses cared about him, just like she cared about Adrien. He was part of her family too, and she loved him more than anyone else in the entire world. She'd do anything for him, protect him from anyone who wanted to hurt him. Yang knew Moses felt that same protectiveness towards Vanitas. The only question was whether Vanitas would be one of the things that ended up hurting him, and Yang knew how painful it was to be hurt by someone you loved.

He smiled faintly. "Yea, Van's been added to my family. It's just a matter of getting him to the point where he can meet everyone else and not incite a fight" he snorted at the memory of Yang almost burning Van's face off because he'd been pressing her buttons. "Van's got a good heart, somewhere. It's just a matter of bringing it out and encouraging it to grow"

Yang just gave a little nod. She hoped, for Moses's sake, that he could find that good buried deep inside Vanitas, or things were going to end badly for both of them. She finished off the last of her drink and glanced at her watch. Her lunch break was nearly up. "I should be getting back to work," she said. "Don't want to be late clocking back in." She glanced up at Moses. "It was nice, seeing you. And I hope things for well for you...and Vanitas." She may not care much about the guy, but she hoped that he could make Moses happy. And if he broke his heart, well, he'd have her fists to answer to.

Moses got up from where he was sitting and nodded. "Alright, I have to get back to work. I'll see you later, yea?" he touched her shoulder. "Let's not let something like this ruin our friendship again, okay?" he asked gently. He didn't want to lose her.

Yang nodded. "Yeah. BFF's forever," she said with a little laugh. She shared the same sentiment though. Moses was a dear friend and she didn't want to let her stubborn anger towards Vanitas ruin what they had. At least Moses understood that she may never like him, and he wasn't forcing her to. And at least he understood her whole dilemma about Manolo. She'd have to wait and see if he could figure anything out about him through Vanitas. As for what she would do if she got some info...she'd have to wait and see. That was all she could do right now. "I'll see you around." She gave a wave before heading out the front door, feeling like the weight she'd been carrying on her shoulders was a little less heavy.
