"Something more? Well if she doesn't want people to know I guess that's her business. I'm just glad I'm not the only one who knows what it's like" Riku watched as Sunshine explained what her power was, and grinned at the little boy's look of awe when her hair started glowing from the song. He chuckled. Flynn raised an eyebrow and gave a low whistle. "That's a handy thing to have. You're like a holy relic, no? mystic powers of goodness that banishes darkness and heals injuries" He chuckled. "Like an angel" Saya snorted and nudged her husband.
"Bit of a waxing romantic, aren't we?" she teased. "You sure you're not still moon-addled?" Flynn rolled his eyes and 'woofed' at her and Archer. Riku laughed. The family was so full of love, it was quite different from Riku's own family. But that was a good thing. He was happy his best friend was doing so well, and that he could finally meet Archer. It was nice seeing them altogether. It made him suddenly want a child of his own to spoil like Flynn spoiled Archer.

"Give her time. She's shy around people," Sunshine said reassuringly. It had taken a while for Jenna to even open up and start talking. Apparently, it was because she was judging their hearts for if they were true. Like a canine lie detector. The demonstration of her powers was getting an ovation from Flynn and his family, and she gave a small laugh. "I sort of had an...upgrade, too. I unwittingly rescued a Unseelie, and in gratitude, he granted me the ability of having my singing become a lullaby. Basically I sing, my hair glows silver, and out like a light. It gets charged by the moon." Speaking of Moon, Flynn was flirting in a wolfish fashion to Saya, and she gave Riku a grin, booping his nose, jokingly teasing how he had been stuck as a rabbit the first time they met.

"If you give me her name, maybe I can become penpals" Flynn suggested. Riku smiled when Sunshine mentioned the upgrade. He'd been there for that, and had seen the exchange of the gift. Flynn shook his head. "Man, you are lucky. It's unheard of for a person to be blessed by both courts. She's pretty special" he smiled at his wife. "Saya is sort of leader of the pack, we were part of her sled team and while we live in different towns, we always come when she calls to take care of business pack style. She's blessed too, but werewolf style" He gently stroked Saya's cheek. Riku wiggled his nose when she booped it, remembering being a rabbit when they'd first met. It wasn't so different, really.
Archer ran up to Sunshine and climbed onto her lap and touched her hair. "Nightlight" he said in awe and Flynn and Saya laughed. Saya got up to make dinner and Riku reached over to tickle the toddler.

"Yeah, I'll write it down for you," Sunshine agreed. Hopefully Jenna wouldn't develop a crush. The guy was married! And had a really cute kid. She giggled as her husband wiggled his nose at her. It really wasn't so different, the two couples just gabbing like they were old friends when she had only known them for four hours. Archer was in her lap all of the sudden, playing with the ends of her hair. Rather than be confused or worried, Sunshine was smiling down at Archer, cooing and letting him play with it. He called her 'Nightlight', which filled her with the giddiness only a cute child would give.

"That'd be great! I could use all the canine friends I can get" he smiled. "I tend to end up in Paris' dog parks more often than not, playing with the dogs of nightowl Parisians. Saya thinks it's because I don't have many of my pack close by to interact with"
Riku nodded. "It's true, wolves are very social creatures, I'm surprised you haven't gone mad from loneliness, it's common with lone wolves" Flynn shrugged easily.
"I'm a bit doggish, my son and wife are my pack right now. If I get in a place with more werewolves, I'll probably be happier, but right now I'm content being here. And Archer will become a werewolf at sixteen. It's tradition. He already is looking forward to it, actually" Flynn laughed a little. "Plays fetch, like a puppy. It's adorable" Riku looked at the little kid. playing with Sunshine's hair. Yes, it was tradition, but what if he got to be sixteen and didn't want the curse? What then?

Sunshine was in agreement with Riku's falling face. Having a child be cursed at sixteen, with something that probably he didn't want, what was he going to do? She thought maybe humoring the couple for now would be a safe burden. "So, what, do you guys eat dog biscuits, too?" It was an awful joke, but she had seen some were cops go nuts with a box in the break room one time.

"If they have whipped cream and are made by Saya" Flynn answered with a snicker. "Once, I brought a box into the department. Next thing I know, the box is half empty and my human associates are licking their fingers, thinking it's pastries" he was almost howling with laughter. "I didn't have the heart to tell them they were dog biscuits made for my anniversary as a cop" Riku hid his face, snickering at the story.
Saya poked her head into the room. "I was half-done with dinner when you two arrived. So in just a little bit it'll be ready, why don't you wash up?" Flynn nodded and scooped Archer up into his arms.
"Come on little pup, mama says wash your hands"
"Flynn, you still have dirt on your palms from last night. You wash up too" Flynn looked a little abashed as Archer pointed at him and laughed.

Sunshine didn't even know the story well enough, but she was snickering. It was a very cop thing to do, attack a tray of treats and then leave it for someone else to clean up. Or by the time word got out, they were gone and people were stuck licking the crumbs off the table. Saya called them to wash up, sending Flynn and Archer up to get washed. She waved after the little baby. A little gap was starting to fill in her chest. Archer was just a reminder of what she wanted, of what the future would possibly hold. She could see herself in Saya's shoes, making dinner for friends when they came to visit...and maybe a kid running around being cute for the sake of being adorable. But she and Riku agreed to be good parents. So far, Flynn and Saya were perfect parents.

Riku took Sunshine's hand in his and squeezed it. Yes, this was a picture of the life they wanted. A little house, a cozy family, and nothing but love for each other. It was a dream that he'd hardly thought possible until recently. He really hoped they could be as happy as Flynn and Saya and Archer. "Hey Saya, it smells really good" he called and she poked her head out again.
"Poulet de Provincal" she called out to them. "And rare steaks for Flynn. It takes him a few days to be able to eat normal human food after the full moon, so I do my best to accommodate while feeding myself and Archer something edible for us" Riku winced. That had to be tough, but she didn't sound annoyed by it at all. It was just part of life.

“Sound delicious, too!” Sunshine beamed. She kissed her husband in the side of his head. Saya May have been almost done, but a good guest helped out. She stood up asking out loud, “so do you need help with anything?”

"You can help grate the cheese and cut the bread, if you want" Saya said as Sunshine walked into the kitchen and pointed to the necessary items on the counter. The kitchen was small and cheery with lime green walls and roses painted along the sides of doorways. Pink curtains framed a little window.
"I'll grate the cheese" Riku offered and walked over to the cheese and grater. Might as well help if Sunshine was going to.

"Okay. Bread is something I know by the back of my hand. My...family owns a bakery. I was a baker before I became a cop..." She followed Saya into the kitchen. The whole decor was precious and sweet, like soemthing out of a kid's dollhouse. She picked up the knife and measured each slice precisely. No one wanted a thin slice. Especially in bread that practically melted in one's mouth. Grabbing a napkin lined basket, Sunshine arranged the slices to be presentable. No one would deny a piece of it now.

Saya smiled. "Maybe we can swap recipes. Archer has a sweet tooth and Flynn is a sucker when it comes to anything filled with pear" Riku began grating the cheese, watching Sunshine cut each slice precisely. He smiled as she arranged the bread slices in an appealing way. Saya laughed. "It looks like a restaurant spread!" she said, delighted. "Maybe if you stay we can open a restaurant" she joked and Riku laughed a little. Wouldn't that be something.

"I'd like that. It's a fair trade. Flynn gets a hearthound penpal, I get a French recipe buddy," Sunshine beamed. She set the bread back and smiled at the entire presentation. Saya was right. The whole thing looked like a spread foodies would take pictures of. She scooted in the closest chair and smiled. The quaintness reminded her of her family dinners. All that was missing was the laughs and bad jokes.

Saya beamed back. "I have recipes from Alaska and recipes I learned from Flynn's mom" she said happily. "Alaskan cod stew is a specialty of mine, and the only way Archer will eat fish" Saya put down the chicken beside the bread and smiled. "I'll get my boys. I have a feeling they're squirting water at each other and blowing bubbles with the hand soap"
"That happen often?"
"Often enough I expect it when they take this long"
