Wally was not used to seeing things so peaceful around the town. It was a bit disheartening to say the least. He didn't want crime to be a regular thing in the quaint town but since Thrax had disappeared, all the bad guys seemed to be in hiding. Maybe it was because Thrax was stronger and now that the main terror was gone, everyone was scared to try. It put a hero's job at a stand-still, but the bright side meant he could look for more answers. It also meant that the modeling job wouldn't get tangled in with the side job of hero. he still couldn't believe he had even gotten the job. It made him feel a bit more like he was becoming an adult. An adult that his mom could be proud of.
The talk of the bakery always seemed to be a bit of gossip Wally had never gotten into, but now the smells were enchanting and inticing enough to go inside. So many delicious sweets, filled the window and it was all too tempting. It was a quiet day with a few stragglers inside, a few adults but no one seemed to eager to stay once they had gotten their food. There were so many choices, that his mouth was practically watering. "I'll take a few of those." he pointed at a few pasteries. One covered in chocolate and what looked like powdered sugar. He would have plenty of time to play detective later, right now, it was time to enjoy the day off.
'Nice to see people at peace again.' he thought, as he made his way to one of the tables in the bakery, his green eyes softened as he watched the people coming and going, smiles on their faces. Who would have thought that one criminal could have caused such fear and that his death would bring about a different peace all together. It was almost too good to be real.

If Weiss was honest with herself, she'd admit that she was still riding off the high from her first charity concert, and telling her parents off afterwards. She still smiled every time she thought about it. For the first time ever, she felt like she was really in control of her life. She was doing what she wanted, and most importantly, she was setting goals for herself and thinking about the future instead of being stuck in the past. The physical scar Thrax had given her would always remain, as would the mental scars left behind by her parents and her shadow spirits. But that was all they were now: scars. The wounds had closed and healed over. And while they may be painful now and again, it was something she could deal with now. So, it was with a cheerful mood that she entered the Nevermore bakery for some coffee and scones. The place wasn't too crowded, but she failed to notice that there was a familiar face among the few other customers inside.

Green eyes wandered around the interior of the cafe. It was quaint and cute. Very homey. That might have been the point of the whole thing. To make the place feel like home. It was warm, and comforting, almost like being in the room was taking any worry away. With no crime, it was doing its job. The door opening didn't draw his view away from the baked goods in front of him, not at first. The warm gooey chocolate filling in his mouth made him sigh with relief. Then the flash of white hair caught his eye.
The last time they talked, Weiss had said that she was feeling better, a weight had been lifted. From life in general. So, he shouldn't have been surprised to see her here in the bakery of all places. But he was. With crumbs still on chin, he rose from the chair. "Weiss." he said or rather asked

Weiss turned around at the sound of her name, and a smile lit up her face. "Wally, hi!" she greeted cheerfully. She quickly grabbed her drink and scones and hurried over. "Nice to run into you again," she said. It seemed like that was always how they met. But Weiss didn't mind. Maybe she was just lucky in that regard. It looked like Wally was enjoying whatever he ordered, judging by the crumbs on his chin. She gave a small laugh before saying "I think you got a little something on your face."

"Do I?" he asked, before pushing a thumb along his chin to find the crumbs on his finger. Well, that could have gone better but she didn't seem to care. Wally didn't either as he wiped the rest of the food away with one of the napkins he had grabbed before smiling. "Just the food here is really really good." It was better than good. The bakers seemed to put their heart into it. "Nice to see you again as well, how's life?"

"I know, right? It's great," Weiss agreed. "It's my favorite bakery in Bellerouge." Of course, part of her opinion was biased now that Sunshine was her sister-in-law. But she'd liked the place even before she'd gotten to know her. "It's been good," she replied when Wally asked how she was doing. "Really good. I finally found something worthwhile to do." She wondered if Wally had seen any news about her first charity concert. Granted, it wasn't world-breaking news, but reporters had wanted to cover every juicy detail of the event, particularly how Weiss had pretty much bashed her parents in song form.

Of course Wally had heard about the charity concert, it wasn't big gossip but a few people had talked about a girl who blew away the crowd with her voice. Wally hadn't thought about the voodoo queen being the star of the concert but Weiss had once said she liked to sing. So this was how she was getting away from her family's grasp. Good for her. "Rumor has it, you were a big hit on stage at a charity concert." He could only imagine how pissed her parents were about the whole thing but Weiss seemed to glow with a different happiness, she really was moving past all of it. "How did it feel to get up on stage?"

Weiss couldn't help but feel a little proud at hearing that. Even Wally had thought she had sounded good. The thought pleased her more than she had thought it would. "Yeah, it went great," she said. "A lot of money was raised. I'm hoping we'll get even more at the next one we do." Granted, Weiss was still figuring out details for that, but she already had a few ideas bouncing around. There was a lot to think about: which organization to help next, which songs to do, where to perform. But Weiss liked the work. Putting all her effort into something worthwhile really had a positive effect on her. "It felt so good," she replied with a smile. "It was a little intimidating though. I kept worrying something would go wrong. But it was so great." She gave a little laugh. "It was kind of funny to see everyone's faces when they saw I was in the same punk get-up as Omar's band. They were pretty shocked." Wearing black t-shirts and ripped up jeans hadn't exactly been Weiss's style before that. But she'd wanted to match with Omar's band so they could have a uniform look. And the style was starting to grow on her. Now that she wasn't trying to keep up with the latest fashions anymore, she could fill her closet with whatever clothes she wanted. And she'd purchased more than a few jeans with holes in them and converse sneakers.

At her description of the outfit, Wally raised an eyebrow. It certainly wasn't a look that he would have ever expected a girl like Weiss to wear. She held herself in such dignity and grace that the punk look certainly did not match that. However, half of the outfits were probably something that she had picked out or her parents thought suited her family's image. "I can't imagine the look on your parents face." he said trying not to laugh at the idea of that playing his head. "And that's great to hear, about the money I mean. What were you raising the money for?"

"They were kind of angry about the whole thing," Weiss said with a nod. "But honestly, they've been upset with me ever since I moved out. So it's nothing new." If Riku could handle being on their parents' bad side, then so could she. Besides, she was building up a pretty decent new family now that she was away from them. "Oh, it was for an orphanage," she replied. "I figure if I keep bringing attention to organizations like them, then maybe higher-up people will finally start helping them out a bit more. And who knows? Maybe we can change things so we don't have a bunch of orphans and homeless people in Bellerouge anymore." Of course, change like that would take time, but Weiss was ready to put in the effort. If she could use her last name and talents to help those less fortunate, then she was willing to do it. "Mind if I sit?" she asked, gesturing to the empty seat in front of Wally.

"Please. Go ahead." Wally said, happy to have the company. He was very eager to hear more about the concert and Weiss sticking it to her parents real good. They deserved to have a decent dose of reality that not everyone could be bent to their whims. His green eyes lit up at the idea of the orphanage getting more money. Even though he wasn't rich, Wally was more than willing to lend his support to help the orphans. "Well, you have my support."

"Thanks," Weiss said with a smile, feeling glad that at least one other person didn't think her idea was too crazy. She could raise a lot of money now, but if she became the Voodoo Queen, then she could get some real change started. If she had the people on her side, then it wouldn't matter if her parents supported her or not. The public would be happy to have her in charge if she showed that she cared about them and wanted to help. She sat down in front of Wally, sipping from her coffee before saying "Oh, Adrien told me that he hired you as a model. I'm glad you found some work." Granted, modeling wasn't probably the first career choice for a guy, but at least Wally could make a steady income. And Adrien treated his employees fairly. Weiss hoped he was happy working for him.

Wally's cheeks warmed, he wasn't expecting Weiss to know about it yet, let alone hear about it from Adrien. He supposed it made sense. Adrien did know a lot of people, and it wasn't unheard of that Weiss's family wouldn't know about his future. It made things a bit easier rather than the white haired girl see his face on magazines. "Thanks. I gotta admit though, its going to take some getting used to." The idea of the world seeing his face as a normal guy, not as his superhero alter ego.
"He was pretty cool guy, though gotta admit. Was not expecting my boss to be younger than me."

"Trust me, he only looks like a teenager," Weiss said with a little laugh. "I think he got that look when he was sixteen and it's stuck with him ever since. Who knows how long he'll get that youthful face to last." Knowing Adrien's fans, they would probably start grieving when he got his first gray hair and noticeable wrinkle. But maybe by that point, he'd be off the runaway altogether. She knew he was doing less of it ever since he got in charge, and he liked it that way. He'd only gotten into modeling to make his father happy. Now, he could let other models shine in the spotlight while he made sure the company was successful and treating his employees well.

Wally nodded thinking of how well Adrien had held himself under the stress of adulthood, unlike Wally who had lost his parents early on. Adrien had to take on the pressure of running the business that his father had left him. Wally wasn't sure he could have done that at his age without going crazy. "He certainly knew how to make me feel more comfortable during the interview. I was a nervous wreck."
