Wally had a point. If the streets were relatively safe, then that meant criminals were less confident in their shady doings. They were probably a little more fearful of a superhero than a cop. A superhero didn't really have to follow any rules. They could take down criminals however they wanted, rules be damned. Weiss doubted Kid Flash was the type of guy to go to such extreme measures though. He seemed to hold himself to some good standards. "That's good. I'd hate for any cops to think he's a bad guy for taking the law into his own hands," she replied. "At least, that's what tends to happen in comic books." Taking the law into his own hands huh? He supposed that the idea of being a unknown vigilante was a red flag to cops. Weiss did have a point, many comics had the type of hero he was striving to be, they didn't get along with the cops. At least not buddy buddy, some did have mutual respect for each other but the majority of the law wanted that hero gone. Wally hoped that he wouldn't be that type of person. What did the cops think of his actions? "Well, hopefully the cops will be able to take it easy now that the chaos has stopped. Seems like the streets were filled with crime lately...they deserve a little break." |

"Yeah, they do more work than people give them credit for," Weiss said. She still remembered her parents' party when she had snapped, and the truth about her shadow spirits had been revealed. It had only happened because some woman was dissing the Others Unit and Weiss couldn't stand it anymore. She knew some people thought they were freaks, especially with demons being on the team. But Weiss knew they worked hard to keep the city safe. Her brother alone was evidence of that. And she'd only seen it more as she'd gotten to know some of the other cops, like Aqua and Sunshine.

Wally nodded, the police didn't seem like much to others but Wally held them in a high regard.He hadn't gotten to meet many of the cops on the force, the only one he remembered was the hedgehog. Shadow? Was that his name. It sounded like it was. He wondered if the officer got treated badly because he wasn't human. It seemed likely but Wally didn't want to downright accuse people of doing such a thing. Not to good people. Powers or no. He had to wonder if any of them ever had to deal with mental abuse every day. It felt like a pit in his stomach.
"If it weren't for them then I don't think things would be as peaceful." wally replied. "But I think they might need a little support from people. To give them a better name." he joked of course but it was true. The more good people spread about officers like shadow, the better the approval and change that people would see.

"Maybe that's something I can help with," Weiss said thoughtfully. "When I told people that I was going to be helping others less fortunate, they seemed pretty happy about it. Well, except my parents, but you get the point. Maybe if I do something in tandem with the Others Unit, maybe it'll help the public be more accepting." Of course, what exactly she could help the Others Unit with was a question that would be hard to answer. She wasn't about to get involved in helping them solve a case. They'd never let a civilian do that. And getting involved in one of their all-out fights with criminals would probably be a bad idea too. Riku wouldn't want to put her in harm's way. And part of her kind of wanted to get away from fighting if she could. It reminded her too much of when she'd been craving power and control. She'd have to think about it.

Wally couldn't help but nod in enthusiam. "I think that sounds like a good idea. From what I've heard, you seem to be pretty good with people." he said, blushing slightly at the fact he had said that out loud. Though, coming from such a family, Weiss was probably good with speaking to people since the press would be on them all the time. "I can try to talk to others too. Since I have powers, I can see why people would be wary. Maybe, i can see if Adrien has any ideas of how to promote the BPD. I don't know if modeling will be any good with taht but there's a chance."
He was babbling but it was the first time that he had a good chance to really talk with Weiss without her problems, or without him worrying.

Weiss found herself smiling at the compliment. "I guess it shows how far I've come," she said. "I used to be a real jerk sometimes when talking to people. You probably saw some of that." Of course, she hadn't been a bitch to everyone. She'd always been on good terms with Elsa and Adrien. But quite a lot of people had seen her bitchy side: Wally, Omar, Riku. Riku especially had seen a lot of it during the days when she'd been mad at him for leaving. And she'd acted even more recluse and angry when her shadow spirits had been constantly by her side. She'd made a lot of strides since then.

Wally gave a small smirk. "If anyone went through what you went through, they wouldn't blame you for acting that way." It probably wasn't the best thing to say but he shook his head. "I just meant that i don't blame you for acting that way. I am sure no one else did either." Great, now he was fumbling again, he could only hope that Weiss could get what he was saying, no matter how foolish it was. "Just gotta keep up the good work, the both of us." he looked at the girl before giving a thumbsup. "We should do this again, sometime. It was nice to just talk."

((It's all good.  )) "You do have a point there," Weiss agreed. Nobody had harbored ill feelings towards her for how she'd acted. Sometimes, she still felt like she didn't deserve being forgiven so easily. But she did know the reason she felt that way was because she'd grown up with such unforgiving parents. They didn't tolerate failure or slip-ups. She smiled at Wally's comment before saying "Yeah. Both of us could do a lot of good." Without even realizing it, her hand slid over to rest on top of Wally's, as if emphasizing the fact that the two of them were united in trying to make the city a better place, whether it was helping out the poor or just trying to better the image of the Others Unit. However, the fact that her hand was touching Wally's soon registered in her brain, and the color rose in her face as she pulled away. What the heck was that? What was she doing? Only couples did stuff like that. She and Wally weren't anything like that...were they? |

The motion of his hand being touched, caused his attention to be drawn. Wait? Did she just touch his hand? They weren't a couple or anything but the feeling felt like more than friends. He had seen couples do that all the time, holding hands and other things but he had never thought that they would be anything other than friends. Sure, Weiss was beautiful, sweet and smart. He knew that he was flirty but he felt like something different with her? That maybe, she could be the one, they could be a couple. in the back of his mind, something held him back from doing anything. Her family's approval was one of them and putting her in danger from his hero work.
She pulled away, breaking him from the thought of that. . "A lot of good." wow. Really Wally. That was your reply. Giving an uneasy cough, trying to hide his own blush. "I-should probably get going." he said, though his brain urged him to stay. The red head gave a warm smile. "Next time you are in concert, I'll be sure to be there."

Weiss felt the awkwardness level of this conversation sky-rocket through the roof. God, why did she have to do that? And just when she was feeling like maybe she could have semi-normal conversations with people. Wally made a quick exit, but promised to see her next show. She felt herself giddy at the thought, although there was also the confusion as to why that made her so happy. Tons of people wanted to see her next show. Why did it make her so happy that Wally wanted to go too? "Y-yeah. Thanks," she replied, which immediately made her cringe internally. That was a lame reply. She gave a smile though, hoping it looked natural.

Wally watched her smile and felt more than happiness in his own heart at that. He was happy to see such a smile on her face after all that happended to her. He made a promise that no matter what, he would see her sing and go to her concert. If nothing else, just to see a difference she was making. Hero work or not. He had to push himself to work as hard as she was to help change the world for the better. Not wanting to feel more awkward than he already was, he turned away to hide the blush rising to his cheeks and gave her a quick two fingered salute before finally allowing himself to break away from it.

Wally made his exit, leaving Weiss to stew over her feelings. Why the hell was she acting like this? She didn't behave this way around anyone else. Sure, Wally was a good friend and all, but she hadn't known him nearly as long as some of her other friends, like Elsa and Adrien. So why did she feel so giddy at the things Wally did? Why did he matter to her so much? Why did he give her this fluttery feeling in her chest? She sighed as she sipped her coffee, but it was at that moment that the answer finally came to her. It was the only logical explanation for all this. Hell, it was practically staring her in the face. Somehow, Weiss had gotten a crush on Wally West. She set her cup down and said the first thing that came to mind.
"Shit."
