"He's good at that," Weiss said. "Ever since he took over the company, people seem to be happier working there." She paused for a moment before adding "He's been a generous person for as long as I can remember. He always thinks of others before himself. Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve it." Adrien had been one of the few true friends Weiss had had growing up, and she'd been drawn to his generous heart. Being surrounded by so many selfish and thoughtless people all her life, meeting him was like a breath of fresh air. Neither of their family situations had been great, and that was what had helped them click together.

Wally had to agree with that. Adrien was too nice, and normally that would have been a downfall to anyone else but Adrien had to be the person who could use that niceness as a strength rather than a downfall. "I think that many people think that about him. I certainly am counting myself lucky I have such a cool boss." Adrien had been pretty nice about the hours and everything else. The superhero fighting would have to wait until night-time.
He wiped his hands on his napkin, it was nice to have a downtime of just hanging out with the girl. He felt a bit more at ease not trying to impress her as much as he would have. "Besides being a punk angel on stage, what else have you been doing?"

Weiss gave a little smile as she sipped her coffee. She was glad Wally was happy with his job. She was actually surprised at how much it pleased her. She didn't realize she had cared so much about it, about him. She took another sip as Wally asked her what else she'd been up to. "Not much, honestly," she replied. "Voodoo's kind of taken the backseat for now. I haven't even unpacked my fencing sword since I moved. I'll get back to them eventually though." Now that she wasn't constantly focused on being the best with voodoo, she wasn't reading spell books like crazy. And really, the only reason she'd taken up fencing in the first place was so she could be better at fighting. That was what a voodoo priestess should be good at. But the charity concerts were her priority right now. She wanted to get her name out there and make people take notice of what she was doing, and that would take some dedication.

[sorry i hadn't responded, i had a bit of a anxiety thing]
Wally's eyes widened slightly. Fencing, singing and voodoo was there anything that Weiss couldn't do? He was surprised but happy that she was moving on from the past and escaping the clutches of her family and the cage that kept her prisoner. She was moving on. A pleasant surprise. "Fencing huh? That sounds impressive." he replied. He had heard that fencing was a delicate and beautiful fighting style. Weiss fit that description. He was more rough and tough, so he was not sure he could handle the whole fencing thing.
"So, what inspired you to start to sing?" he was curious. "Sorry about all the questions about you, but after this you can ask me anything."

Weiss shrugged. "It was a hobby. Although it has come in handy more than once. Combining it with voodoo kind of gave me an extra oomph, you know?" It had certainly worked when she'd faced off Thrax by herself. Then again, she hadn't really beat him all on her own. It was only thanks to her shadow spirits that she hadn't been killed. Even though they'd only done it to manipulate her, she still had to acknowledge that they had saved her. It still felt odd sometimes, to not have them constantly watching her. But she never felt lonely with them gone. She had friends, real friends, surrounding her now, and they'd always be there for her. "Well, I liked doing it when I was a kid," she said, gazing into her mug thoughtfully. "And my parents felt like it was making me into a refined young lady. But it was eventually put aside when they wanted me to make voodoo my priority. I was a LaFayette, after all. We were supposed to be the best with voodoo." She took a sip before continuing. "I didn't really know what to do with myself once I got away with them. But I remembered how singing made me happy, and that was really my main reason for getting back into it. It helped me cope a little better with all the recovery I had to do. Omar let me join his band, and being with them kind of got me back into the groove of singing again." She paused for a moment, realizing that she had just spouted out a lot in a couple of seconds. Was she talking too much? She took a sip of her coffee, suddenly feeling self-conscious. Then again, Wally had always been easy to talk to. At least, in her mind.

Wally listened with a smile. The way Weiss opened up about the hobby, in itself was the way he thought about running. Even before he had discovered his speedster powers, Wally would run for hours, just to escape from the stress of everyday life. But the idea of the parents only having her do it to make her a fine young lady was a ridiculous idea in itself. Weiss seemed pretty ladylike already. How much ladylike could they have made her.
"Well, I would say Omar and his band are pretty lucky. I may have to come see you guys sometime." he replied, his green eyes shining a bit. If he could listen to Weiss talk all day, he certainly would. "Alright, your turn for questions."

Wally didn't seem to mind just listening to Weiss talk about herself. If anything, he listened pretty intently, and was interested in seeing her perform. The idea of that made her surprisingly happy. "That would be great," she said with a smile. "I'll be sure to let you know when we're performing next." At this rate, maybe she and Omar's band would start getting groupies or something. Granted, the Bilge Rats probably already had a fan club, but the idea was still amusing to think about. It was funny, how having fans of her music was different from having fans of her last name. She sipped her coffee one more time as she thought about what to ask Wally. "Besides Adrien being a cool boss, how's the model life treating you?" she asked. No doubt Wally was busy doing photo shoots and posing with a bunch of other pretty models. Did he like any of the other people he worked with? Adrien had said more than once that other models could be a bit snobby, but knowing him, he'd probably employed less selfish people since becoming the boss.

Wally scratched his cheek, feeling a bit more sheepish than cocky attitude he was used to. "It..it is interesting." he replied. "It took me a bit of getting used to to be honest, I didn't know there were so many different types of clothes out there." That had proven to be an interesting experience to be sure. Wally had always chosen simple clothes like jeans and t-shirts, but Adrien and the other models had shown that there was more than just casual wear. "The shoots are pretty interesting as well, nothing too fancy but kind of felt like i was being attacked by the make-up lady."
Models had a lot more going on than just clothes, they also had to be sure that they had the right make-up if needed to show up on magazines. He knew that girl models had to worry about that but had never thought about the guys. The speedster was slowly getting more respect for models. "I always liked to travel and that was one of the perks."

Weiss gave a little laugh. Wally did have a point. Once you immersed yourself in the fashion industry, you could almost be bombarded by how many choices were out there. Weiss remembered her mother getting several dozen magazines throughout each month, trying to keep up with all the latest fashions and trying to get her hands on it as soon as possible. It was crazy. The mental image of a make-up lady actually attacking Wally as amusing, although she was glad to hear he enjoyed the travel aspects. "Exotic photo shoots are always the rage," she joked. This was especially the case during the summer, when everyone wanted to exotic destinations. Most models showed their stuff while on a beautiful tropical island or a stylish European city, almost as if to say that you could go to these places if you bought these clothes. It was a common marketing trick.

Wally nodded thinking about the photographer who was more than willing to tell Wally about the interesting places he had been to take photo shoots. "As long as I was a kid with my mom, i wanted to travel. I guess the idea of just seeing the world was appealing to me. Sure, this speedster thing could make it easy but its not really the same." He couldn't very well just see everything by running fast. In all his life he had never thought a modeling career, it was almost good to have a second job, it helped keep him busy without making a big name for himself as Kid Flash

Weiss nodded in understanding. "Magic isn't always the best option," she agreed. It certainly didn't solve every kind of problem either. Weiss was a prime example of that. She was one of the best in voodoo, and yet it had done nothing to help keep her family together. Sure, there were spells and potions that could force people to get along, but magic that messed with people's emotions could only work for so long. It was more of a quick fix than anything else. After that, there could be irreversible consequences.

He nodded slowly, he sort of agreed with her statement. His powers had the goods and the bad. He helped saved many lives with his powers, which was something he took a great pride in that, the other side was that it had failed to save a life that had mattered to him. Being a model was good enough, and he could hold his power back from that. What good would it do to have his superpowers as a model, it would make things worse, as enemies could go after his fellow coworkers and possibly Adrien.
"I'll agree to that." He hoped that this wouldn't be the last time they could meet with no hard times in this city. For once there was no crime. He hoped it stayed that way for awhile.

"I guess it has its pros and cons just like everything else," she commented. "I know people's powers come in handy when they're dealing with crime." Riki's knowledge of voodoo had helped more than a few cases. And then there was Kid Flash, whose job depended on his super speed. Weiss wondered how he was doing. "Have you run into the Kid Flash lately?" she asked. "I haven't seen him in a while."

Wally's eyes almost brightened at the mention of his superhero name. However, he held it back. No reason to give away everything he had worked for. Despite wanting to tell her everything. it wasn't the right moment. Something like that took time, if he had any enemies Weiss might be targeted. He couldn't have that. "I haven't seen him personally but with the streets being as quiet as they have been, I think that would be a good thing."
It was true, he still patrolled the streets at night, searching for answers and there had been no sign of Eve. Which was both good and unsettling. "But I have a feeling he's still around being a hero."

Wally had a point. If the streets were relatively safe, then that meant criminals were less confident in their shady doings. They were probably a little more fearful of a superhero than a cop. A superhero didn't really have to follow any rules. They could take down criminals however they wanted, rules be damned. Weiss doubted Kid Flash was the type of guy to go to such extreme measures though. He seemed to hold himself to some good standards. "That's good. I'd hate for any cops to think he's a bad guy for taking the law into his own hands," she replied. "At least, that's what tends to happen in comic books."
