Yang let out a breath, trying not get so hot-headed. Omar said that Davie wouldn't hurt him, and it looked like she had no choice but to take his word for it. It looked like all they could do was wait for Davie to get bored with Omar and that would be enough for him to let him go, for now. Yang still hated the idea of Omar being someone's pet though, and she made a promise to herself to figure out how to set Omar free someday. At least he was glad she was here, and didn't think she was useless for not being able to do anything. That had to count for something. "Okay. I guess that's good enough. But if he ever does hurt you, I'm burning this place down. With him in it." As long as Davie kept his hands off of Omar, he wouldn't have to face too much of Yang's temper. Granted, who knew how much she could actually hurt him, but she could damn well try. She gave a nod as she grabbed a final platter before following Omar out.

"Well, be prepared to lose your badge, not a lot of people are capable of burning a house down with Phoenix fire" he warned gently. "Or being spirited away to the courts and recieving punishment there. He is Mab's favorite. That hasn't changed" He led the way through a short hall to where Davie was waiting at the head of the table. Omar set the food down and motioned for Yang to set her dishes down. "As you are the guest, you sit at his left side" Omar told her gently. He pulled out her seat and motioned for her to sit. "Don't let him tick you off. He is quite good at it" he whispered. "And I would rather be here forever than see anyone I love get enchanted again"

"If she's anything like him, I'll give her a piece of my mind while I'm at it," Yang replied. Powerful fairies obviously scared some people, but Yang wasn't one of them. And while it might be foolish on her part, she saw it more as sticking up for someone who meant a lot to her. Whether it was fairies or demons or something else horrible, she wanted to protect her friends from those who wanted to hurt them. Davie was waiting for them at the table. Yang shot him a look, but said nothing, which in her mind, was pretty nice compared to the list of foul-mouthed names she could call him. And it looked like Omar didn't want a fight to break out anyway. She told herself to play nice, for now.

He smiled and shook his head. Leave it to Yang to try to fight the queen of the dark fey. He caught Davie's look as Davie discreetly pointed at Yang mouthing 'She's adorable!' Omar sighed.
"Stop Davie" he said in old english. "She already wants to hit you"
Davie grinned at Yang. "You don't really like me, do you? But where would you be without him, hmm? I am the reason Omar is alive" Omar grit his teeth. Davie wasn't wrong.
"Food. Davie. Please" Davie laughed and raised his hands to the ceiling palms up.
"I call upon the earth spirits to thank them for making the earth fertile enough to produce food to keep us alive. May our enjoyment be enough to appease you for another day" Davie paused and looked at Yang. "I may not agree with most religious, but they have the right idea here. Food isn't just created by farmers, of any species. Now, dig in and be careful.of what's mine. Pheonixs tripping on anything has never given good results. Except that one time I wanted to put the fear of-"
"ENOUGH" Omar roared. "You want to see if I can lift this table and.smash it through the wall? Stop pushing Yang"
"Do you want to see your friends and family?"
"Not if it means you hurt one of my good friends here, no"

Yang glanced up for a moment. She didn't catch what Davie said, and Omar replied in something she couldn't understand. Was it important? Davie soon addressed her directly though, and she frowned. "Caught that, huh?" she replied. At least Davie knew, although he didn't seem too bothered by the fact. He even remarked how he'd saved Omar's life once. Yang wondered exactly how that had happened. She'd never gotten the details of that incident. The meal soon started, but Omar soon blew up over Davie's comments. Between his anger and Yang's, she wondered if getting through this dinner was even possible. She looked at Davie, wondering if Omar's outburst would make him mad. She wasn't sure, although her body still tensed, ready to jump in if Davie decided to smack him or something.

Davie stared at them, and then started laughing. Long and loud. "You are as fiery as ever, evenly matched with the little lady over here. Do try and simmer down, there isn't a fire proof or destruction proof spell on my house"
"Then stop toying with her and I. I am not interested in you causing her to lose her badge, or something" If Davie could look anymore innlcent at that comment, angel wings and a shiny halo would have appeared. He turned to Yang.
"So, tell me about yourself. I saw you on the papers, dating the little Agreste boy. Is that going well? I do adore his fashion debut. Though colors? Nah" Omar rolled his eyes.

Davie didn't seem to take Omar and Yang too seriously, but he settled down, for now. The conversation moved to Yang specifically, and her love life. The idea of Davie going anywhere near Adrien made Yang angry, but she tried not to think about it too much. "He's fine," she replied. "He's actually been busy helping out the city a lot. His mansion was a safe haven during the apocalypse." No doubt he was making sure everyone who was there had someplace to stay, or was trying to reunite them with their loved ones. That was just the way Adrien was. He had a generous heart and always wanted to help those around him.

"So much for Apocalypse. There are no more red skies and ominous clouds. Birds are singing, skies are blue, not a hell portal to be found and the satanists have crawled back into their crypts" he actually sounded somewhat disappointed. "I always thought there would be more fanfare, and it would last longer than a school semester. But yay, nobody close to either of you us dead" Omar focused on his food and decided not to retort. Nothing was going to happen to piss Davie off. So far, they had been lucky. Would it last much longer though? "I never did speak to Adrien, but his sister is now one of Omar's brood. I should meet jer and Jane, don't you think?"
"You will terrify Namine" Omar warned briefly. Davue shrugged.
"You managed to make powerful friends. I should talk to them, about who you are" Omar visibly tensed.

Yang picked at her plate, trying to eat something in an attempt to be polite. Davie might not have felt like the end of the world was too bad, but for a lot of people, it had been. Yang's mind went to Shadow. He was still alive, thank goodness. But he'd been stuck in purgatory for a while, and had had to go up against Disparion by himself. Yang felt her stomach churn every time she tried to imagine what it had been like for him. She never wanted him to feel alone like that again. Davie mentioned Jane and Namine though, and Omar wasn't a big fan of him meeting them. Neither was Yang. She could just imagine Jane breaking out her gun, or Namine's dog getting protective and pouncing on him. "Depends if they want to meet you," she replied. "I promised I'd give them an update about Omar after this dinner date, and your first impression could use some work."

"I am a thousand and sixty years old. I am Unseelie. I reserve the right to be a mean old man and jackass to everyone I meet. Never did have the luxury of maintaining a young mind with my fairly young looking bidy. I look like bruce wayne with a beard and not a day over 35. But Omar? He might as well be Peter Pan for all the good time has done to him"
Omar inclined his head to hid master. It was a huge compliment, coming from the vain fey who treated him in equal turns as pet and slave. "It is why other fey enjoy my company in the.courts" he acknowledged.
Davie smirked and looked at Yang. "Surely Jane would want to know about her dad's youth? He was a little shit at seventeen. Constantly running his mouth and causing trouble. He stole a sitar from a minstral once. I let him sit in the stocks for a bit, to let him think about how he fucked up anf got caught" Omar smiled at that one. He remembered it clearly.

"Sounds like your immortal life is interesting," Yang remarked in a deadpan tone. What was the point of living forever if you were just going to be a jerk to everyone? At least Omar did some good with his life. As Davie described him at seventeen though, Yang gave a shrug. "I was a little shit at seventeen too. I think we both turned out okay, despite the circumstances." That was probably the reason she and Omar had clicked when they first met. They were both rough around the edges, and had a habit of causing trouble, but had good hearts underneath.

"It's equal parts age and nature. You have a rightcheous and fiery personality. Some of that is simply Phoenix. Omar, when he wants to be, is seductive and loves children"
Omar shrugged. "While I agree trolls have an almost Cupod like power despite our looks, and are known for seducing princesses, I credit who I am to my experiences. You were closer when you called me Peter Pan" Davie just shrugged.
"Then I suppose it was life that made me bitter, little lady. Lots of circumstances that make me wholly mistrustful of humans not in the courts. And how you folk treat your land and things"
"Davie, you're hardly better" Omar.said gently. "cursing entire forests or groups of folk to not be able to grow anything, giving girls sheep or cows heads because someone is jealous, I could go on. How many places have you turned desolate, how many lives have you ruined? No species on earth is perfect"

Omar had a fair point. If life hadn't treated Davie very well, then he certainly wasn't making it any better by acting like an asshole. Besides, bad things happened to people all the time, and not all of them turned out to be jerks. Yang and Omar were prime examples of that. They'd both lost loved ones and had each gone through their own hardships. Yet instead of trying to make the world as miserable as they felt, they chose to help others instead. Even when Yang had been screwing around with underground fights and pick pocketing, she'd still gotten kids away from guardians who neglected or abused them. She nodded in agreement with what Omar said.

Omar smiled at Yang. She understood. "Nobody was responsible to her, Davie. She was young, new. Had no control" Davie's face was pure fury.
"My sister's death wasn't an accident. Mavka-"
"Mavka was sixteen. And Seelie" Omar turned to Yang. "Some court fey will marry one from the other court. Davie and Mavka were children of that sort of union. The child will be whatever court they most act like. Unseelie, Seelie, depends" he turned back to Davie. "You know they never found her body" Davie lost control of his illusion, his eyes black as ink and wings uncurling from his back, soft and fragile with the appearance of a rainbow in the fog. His teeth were sharp, and antenna moved agitatedly. Omar.stood up and went to him. "Yang, finish eating, and I will see you to the door. First, I need to take him to his room" he looked back at his master, his face full of affection and grief. Grief for the first person he had ever loved.
