A lot had happened to Yang lately, and for the first time in forever, she felt like she finally had some time to relax and not be worrying about something catastrophic. For a while, she felt like she'd been failing to protect her friends, and some of the old guilt she'd felt after failing to save her parents had been creeping back up. But she'd had two victories to balance all that out. She'd rescued Adrien before he'd gotten hurt. And she'd been strong enough to defeat several opponents when she'd been forced to participate in a Dog Fight, including Junior, who'd orchestrated the whole thing. It made Yang feel like she was still good at what she did: fighting and helping those who needed it. At the moment, she was on the couch, watching some food cooking competition on T.V. She felt like treating herself to a night in and just vegging out was what she needed. However, just when she'd gotten comfy, there was a knock at her front door.

Adrien rubbed the back of his neck before he knocked on Yang's door. He was put on bed rest until he could be cleared by a doctor, but he was going stir crazy in the house. Namine had been the one to suggest he go see Yang. He practically leapt at the opportunity. Of course he wanted to see Yang! She had, after all, gone rushing into a building full of baddies to save him. He was certain she would tease him for it, because he had been the damsel in distress. But it was worth it.

While the comfy feeling of the couch was hard to leave, Yang soon got up and answered the front door. To her surprise, it was Adrien. "Adrien, hey!" She gave him a smile and a hug. Between her dealings with Junior and Adrien's staff making sure he didn't get kidnapped again, they hadn't really seen each other too much lately. Maybe now they could finally have some time together. Working on their relationship was still important for both of them, especially Adrien. Yang knew he still felt guilty about keeping his powers a secret from her for so long. If they could just work past that, maybe he wouldn't feel so guilty anymore.

"Can I come in? Namine kicked me out... Apparently I was getting stir crazy." he said.
He gave her a weak smile. Namine had insisted he go see Yang and get out of the house. She wouldn't let him take over things with the company until he got a doctor's approval for being completely recovered. That was fine with him. He was in no rush to go back to his usual 9 to 5 but he would have thought she'd let him do something. He was actually surprised at how well she handled things without him.

"Well, she's certainly gotten more independent recently," Yang joked. Anytime she'd been around Namine, the girl had always been a bit quiet and timid. But it looked like she was handling the company well. Heck, she certainly seemed to keep things together better than Yang did. She'd been close to going nuts the whole time Adrien had been gone. "Of course you can. Come on in," she said as she took his hand and gently tugged him through the doorway. She was reminded of when she'd first started her relationship with Adrien. She'd felt hesitant about almost everything, and it was up to Adrien to coax her along. Now, it seemed like things were the other way around.

"Tell me about it. While I was... away, she took over. I think the design team likes her more than they like me!" he feigned lamenting.
Though, he was relieved when Yang let him inside. He had worried that because he hadn't been entirely honest about the nature of his powers that... she would be mad at him. She likely was but didn't want to pick a fight where her neighbors could see. But when her hand wrapped around his, he squeezed back, feeling a tension he didn't know he had melting. Leave it to Yang to reassure him when he was starting to worry.
"How are you holding up?" he asked. "I heard about the... fight club."

Yang let out a little laugh. Maybe Namine helping out with the company could be something she could do along with art stuff. She certainly seemed to have gotten more confident. Adrien asked about her most recent misadventure and she let out a breath before answering. "I'm okay," she replied. "I mean, at the time, it was scary, although I was more afraid for Louie and Jenny than anything else." Her hand curled into a fist, remembering how Junior had sunk low enough to threaten them. It still made her mad. "Junior made the mistake of putting me in the ring though. If there's one thing I'm good at, it's beating the crap out of people." She hadn't been helpless because she couldn't solve a puzzle or figure out where a missing friend of hers was. No, she'd been put in a place where she could play to her strengths, and fighting was definitely one of them. Even though Neo had given her some trouble, she'd still managed to avoid being completely beaten by her. And that was close enough to count to a victory in her eyes.

"Are they okay?" Adrien asked in worry.
He hadn't spent a lot of time with the kids personally, but it was on their behalf that he had been in their place in the first place. Caught leaving gifts for them by Yang. He had wanted to help her take care of them. He couldn't do much for them now, they had their own families. But if they ever needed help in life, whether it was scholarships or even job placement, he would make sure they had it. Not just for Yang's sake. They were good kids who had looked after her as much as she had looked after them.

"They'll be alright," Yang said reassuringly, hearing the worry in Adrien's voice. "Louie and Jenny are pretty resilient. They can bounce back from just about anything." Despite living on the streets for a while, and the crappy lives they'd had before-hand, Louie and Jenny were pretty normal kids. Yang knew they wouldn't let this hold them back. Although their parents would probably be a little more reluctant to let them out of the house for a little bit. "Are you doing okay?" she asked, looking back up at Adrien.

"That's a relief." he sighed happily.
He sat himself in her living room. It had been far too long since he had been over. Maybe Namine kicking him out of the house wasn't half bad. He could spend time with Yang after all without having to completely rearrange his schedule or leave early because of work. Adrien was glad he could spend as much time as he could with her. Even with their working schedule, it was hard to get together for anything.
"I think I'm fine but everyone's worried that I haven't healed... mentally." he explained.

Yang gave a little smile as she sat down beside Adrien, her body lightly touching his. It didn't matter what they were doing, she just liked being with him. She glanced up as Adrien said he felt like he was fine, although others seemed to have their doubts. "They just care about you, that's all," she reassured him. "I mean...we were all really worried about you." Although, if Yang was honest, she'd admit that nobody else had gone nearly crazy like she had. "But if you feel okay, and if you're not just saying it so everyone doesn't worry, then I believe you," she said. Adrien looked like he was doing alright, but Yang didn't want him to feel like he had to pretend if he actually wasn't. She remembered doing that more than once after she'd lost her arm and it hadn't worked out well.

"It was..."
He didn't know how to describe it. He hadn't been kidnapped like that since he was a child. Even then, they had released him only because Natalie and Tom had paid for his release, not his father. To them, money was money. Adrien took a deep breath, feeling himself relax more now that Yang sat next to him. He closed his eyes and leaned against her side. He reached out, taking her hand in his and giving a squeeze. He had so many things he had wanted to do with Yang but his own kidnapping got in the way. He was still weak, he knew that, slightly undernourished and scratched up, but they had never caused him a lot of damage. He was worth more alive and unharmed after all.
"It's certainly more adventure than I wanted." he said.

Yang squeezed Adrien's hand back as she looked back up at him. The pause in between his sentence was a long one. Was he searching for the right words to say? When he finally continued, she gave a little laugh. "That's certainly a nice way of putting it," she said. She leaned her head against his shoulder, quiet for a moment before saying "I honestly thought I was going to lose you somehow. I felt like I was letting my friends down when I couldn't be there for them when they were in trouble. And then when they took you, I just...lost it." Her arms wrapped around his before she continued. "But I got you back, and I'm not gonna let anything like that happen again. Anyone who tries is gonna have to get through me first."

Yang curled up against him, pressing close, as if needing reassurance that he was still there. That was fine with him. He needed the comfort too, because he had almost lost her just as quickly. But he couldn't deny the relief he felt when he realized that Yang had come for him. That she had fought her way through minions and his kidnappers all in the name of bringing him home safely. He carded a hand through her hair and closed his eyes, relaxing against her.
"I knew you would come for me," he said.

Yang might have been afraid of having someone have that much faith in her in the past, but not anymore. Adrien had stuck by her through all the tough times she'd gone through. And she was going to protect him from anyone who'd want to hurt him. He was there for her, and she was there for him. That was all there was to it. Adrien's hand was gentle as it ran through her hair and she responded by leaning in close and pressing her lips against his.
