Yang didn't know how Pitch had managed to keep himself hidden for this long while probably losing more of his humanity every second, and slowly being affected by his Promise Scar. But, he was managing to pull it off, as nobody had seen hide nor hare of him since his confrontation with her and Adeline. People were starting to feel desperate. Pitch was powerful, and he could do serious harm if he chose to. Not to mention, Adeline was driving herself crazy with worry. So, she'd gone to one of her demon friends for help, a bartender named Axel. And while he didn't have the answers they were looking for, he knew someone who might: Cruella D'Enfer. And so, Yang waited nervously not too far away from the Mina, keeping an eye out for Axel. She'd never met the guy in person, but Adeline had said he'd be hard to miss with his bright red hair and green eyes. Heck, Adeline probably would have come on this little mission herself, if she hadn't pissed Cruella off some time ago by driving some teenagers away from the club not too long ago, saving their lives, but making Cruella's cronies miss out on a tasty meal. Yang tugged on the sleeve of her sweatshirt, trying to hide her metal arm as much as possible. While she wasn't exactly recognizable on sight like Adrien, most people knew of a blonde on the Others Unit who had a metal arm and a fiery temper. If she got recognized at this club, she'd be dead meat.

Going back to Cruella's was probably the last thing Axel ever wanted to do. But he was hard pressed to say no to Adeline. The kid was like one of his staff members, like family. And a person simply didn't hurt what a demon saw as theirs. Hands in his pockets, he strolled the familiar path to Mina's. This was a delicate situation and he was gong to have to keep his temper in check. And Cruella would bait him. Taunting and smug that he had to come crawling back to her for answers (even on someone else's behalf). It was like letting the old hag win.

The line of people waiting outside was practically laughable. Cruella was sitting in one of the fine chairs, counting one of the stacks that had been presented to her. She thumbed the bills and held one to the light. Nope. Nothing counterfit. As she was finishing her study, a flash of red hair in the large line caught her attention. A spark flared. Axel. How dare he show his mug here? Yet despite the spark in her dark eyes, she snapped her fingers for the bouncer. Despite how many contracts she herself had bent, the policy of letting former employees enter without a cover still held.
“Let the fire demon in,” she barked.

Yang caught sight of Axel at just about the same time Cruella did, although she wasn't aware of it yet. Pulling the hood of her sweatshirt over her head, she hurried over before anyone starting wondering why she was lurking outside the club. "So, I finally get to meet the infamous Axel," she said, trying to keep her tone light, although the situation was anything but. Still, Adeline had mentioned Axel quite a few times in the past, mostly about how he always looked out for her like a big brother. He looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here though, even if going to Cruella had been his idea. Yang didn't blame him. She could have sworn she saw a few people inside throw nasty looks his way. Or maybe she was just being paranoid.

"And you must me the firecracker Adeline told me about," he said.
Ironic coming from a literal fire starter demon like him. Though he was on edge. Being back in Mina brought back a slew of bad memories that he didn't like dealing with. The only thing Cruella did right was treat her people well. Axel did the same. And they had an unspoken truce about their workers who decided to leave for other work (namely working for the competitor). It didn't make it any easier walking in the way he had. People blamed him for leaving. Hated him for it even.
"You sure you're ready for this, blondie?"

Tossing her large fur coat to avoid the candlelit tables, Cruella approached them with a wide grin. Her canines were sharpened, hinting at her bestial nature beneath the true joy. There was a hooded person next to Axel, but the interesting thing was she didn't look dirty or like any drug dealers she saw through Garcon Perdu. This person was tall and looked like they had a sense of purpose. She sniffed the air. No. The hooded girl was not Adeline. There was something rather...spicy in her scent. She was good with fire like Axel then. Well, best see what was going on. Flies were caught better with honey than sugar after all. "You must introduce me to your friend, darling."

"Oh totally. Walking into a vampire-infested club has been on my bucket list for years," Yang joked. Still, how much worse could it be than some of the things she'd done in the past? She'd once stormed a building that had been full of thugs and magic users in order to rescue Adrien. Vampires couldn't be that much harder, right? Cruella soon approached them though, and Yang could instantly see why she was the head honcho of this place. She had a powerful air about her, one that demanded respect, or they would become her or somebody else's meal. And she was eyeing her up just as much as Yang was doing to her. "Acquaintance might be accurate," she replied. "Or 'friend of a friend.'" In a way, she wasn't lying. But she still wanted to try and act casual for now, just so the tension was kept to a minimum.

"Might want to cross it off your list," he said.
Still, Axel was on edge. The club reminded him of all the dangerous things he used to run with. How he used to live on adrenaline and spite. He burned the candle on both ends. He certainly didn't miss that life. He would have ended up chewed up and spit out like the refuse that her pack saw their clients like. They would sooner turn on him than turn to him for help. Or that's how things used to be. He used to like the strong solo act until he got in over his head and realized that he was just a tool for Cruella. A bright burning tool.
"I'm just here to introduce you and make sure you play nicely while the little miss asks questions."

Cruella's very finely plucked brow, already at an intense arch, rose slightly. The joke Yang was spouting had an air of anxiety to it, but to exploit it would spoil the fun she was going to be having. She said that she was a 'friend of a friend' through Axel. The fire demon interjected to say he wanted them to play nice, and that this blonde had questions. Cruella instinctively looked to the rest of the club. Nothing out of the ordinary. The feeding didn't start for a while, so the messes wouldn't be looked at for a while.
"All right, then. A little Q and A never hurt anyone, especially here. Apologies for the dim lighting, don't want my pack getting hurt and thus setting off a chain."

Cruella seemed slightly skeptical, but she didn't look entirely suspicious yet either. Yang figured that was as good a start as any. Cruella mentioned the dim lighting and she remembered that vampires and sunlight didn't exactly mix well. At least that meant her fireballs might do some extra damage if this went downhill. But for now, things were still amiable, if a bit tense. "I've got some questions about demons," she said, looking back up at Cruella. "And apparently, you know a thing or two about them." Technically, Axel had used the word "demon tradings" when describing Cruella's knowledge, but still, if she had an idea of what had made Pitch go haywire, then she was worth asking. And if it was something illegal, then she might even know more about it than Shadow, which was why Yang had mentally designated him as Plan B for this investigation.

Axel folded his arms across his chest. He was just there to look big and intimidating and just... make sure that Yang didn't lose her head. Adeline would have been very put out if Yang lost her head. And unfortunately, Axel didn't know the information being sought, despite being a demon. Otherwise, he would never have suggested coming to Cruella of all people. After all cruel was in her name. She liked seeing people suffer and squirm. Plus, it didn't help that what they were looking for was some pretty black market info. Not exactly something you can find in your wholesome local library.

"Demons? Go on..."
If the questions had been about vampires and werewolves, then the two of them would have been out the door. Preferably as blood drained corpses. But demons? What wasn't Axel saying to her. Then again, she had read the front news story about an officer on the BPD having supposedly gone rogue, and she took wicked delight in it. The same demon that had destroyed her best supplier, Constantine. He had been so good to her girls, and now thanks to a demon, he was gone. Oh, the irony was as delicious as a glass of AB+ laced wine.

Now came the hard part: trying to ask what the heck had happened to Pitch without Cruella knowing that was who Yang was talking about. Criminals weren't exactly a big fan of the guy, considering he was one of the toughest and meanest members of the Others Unit. And Cruella wasn't some mindless henchman or lackey. She would probably get suspicious in an instant if she or Axel said the wrong thing. "Is there something out there that can bring a demon...back to their roots?" she asked. "Or, say, make them fall in line if they're starting to stray from what their superior wants them to do? Like..." Yang tried to think of a good analogy, and she got an idea as she pulled out her cellphone. "Like wiping your phone clean and making it like it was when you first bought it?"

A factory reset but on demons? Axel shuddered at the thought. He would loathe to be like his past self. Violent, angry and an even shorter temper than he had now. He would kill a person for looking at him funny let alone just walking down the same path as him. This was important for him to know as well but he was afraid to say something because it would detract Cruella so she could jab at him for not knowing this crucial bit of information about his own kin.
"Old broad like you would know, right?" he remarked.

Cruella ignored the obvious snub directed to her. Lashing out would only make what she saw as the seed of a perfect revenge go to waste. The blonde illustrated her point about a phone being wiped, and Cruella looked at it long and hard in thought. "Only a very few demons are capable of such abilities. Those anointed by Disparion himself. He was the one that could give the demon power. Well, now that he's gone," she snuffed out a candle with a pinch of her fingers. The hiss punched through the club noise, "it would appear that the skill to, as you say, reset, is starting to go into effect to those that been under his control."
