Namine blinked in surprise when Sunshine handed over her sketch pad. She bit her lip before opening her bag. She pulled out her own sketch pad, hesitating before offering it to Sunshine. "D-Do you want to look at mine?" she asked. She offered Sunshine a weak smile. Her friend was upset. It was really nice of Sunshine to try to do something to help him out. "T-That's really nice of you."

"Only if you want me to look at it," Sunshine shrugged. Artists could be very close to their sketchbooks and only showed it certain individuals. A drawing was like a piece of someone's heart. As a part time hobby drawer, Subshine wanted to be fair, especially given that Namine's sketchbook looked more loved

"I-I don't mind," Namine murmured. She smiled at Sunshine. "E-Everyone at work sees it..." Sometimes without her asking and especially a few of the more rough new officers who liked to pick on her, but it was all in good fun, she kept telling herself. But Sunshine wasn't like that. "I mean, if you want..."

"What do you mean everyone at work?" Sunshine asked gently. Did people pick on Namine about her drawings? Did she do it so often, it made her a prime target for people who could barely draw a straight line? "I won't make fun of anything." She made an x-motion over her heart, her smile widening.

"It's n-nothing!" Namine said quickly fearing she had gotten someone in trouble. "It's m-my job!" It was really all Namine thought she was good for. If she could help in any way she wanted to. She felt she owed her life to the BPD after they stepped in with her father. She had no idea what would have happened if the officers hadn't saved her that night and she was always scared of what the answer would have been. "Lots of people look at my sketch book." She added softly.

So was Namine a full time paid artist? Did she have her own private business to have people do comissions? If Sunshine wasn't so tied up, maybe she could ask Sunshien for advice on starting your own artist business. "Your job? That's pretty cool. But, then again, doing a job you love it one of the best things you can do. No wonder people like looking at your sketches. You must be good if you love it!"

Namine blushed darkly. "I-I don't think I'm t-that good!" she said. She could feel her cheeks burning from the compliment. Yes, she did love what she did. It's what got her through school and a few darker points in her life. "When I'm not working for the police I-I do commissions." she explained. She was working on an album cover right now and a commission for a children's hospital.

The rosy color on Namine's face made Sunshine smile a bit more. This girl got cuter and cuter by the minute. The pages in Namine's sketchbook flew by, revealing intricate details. Not even technology could imitate the pencil marks she put into absolute perfection. However, Sunshine couldn't deny a sense of deja vu as she flipped through. one of them looked like the wards she and Shadow were studying before the whole...incident. The next page was what made her green eyes light up.
It was a very good sketch of one of the bodies they had found, complete with a closeup of the rosary burn in the palm.
"You...you sketch for BPD?" her labored reaction was a wild guess.

"Well, yes," Namine said uncertainly.
She certainly wasn't cut out to be an officer in any means of the word. Gun shy, violence timid and riddled with anxiety, she would be the worst candidate for the job. Tentatively she looked up at Sunshine, biting her cheek and wrapping her arms around herself. She peered over the sketch pad to see what Sunshine was looking at. She paled. Sunshine was looking at her graphic and gruesome work sketch pad. The tiny blonde had accidentally mixed the two pads up. Her work one and her commission pad.
"I-I'm sorry!" she squeaked. "T-That's my w-work pad!"

The embarrassment was written on Namine's face. Sunshine's eyes shifted nervously. If she has been doing this work, it could be seen as peeping. The human cops were pretty ruthless to her other colleagues.
"Oops," she sheepishly shut the pad, "sorry. But even from what I saw, your good! No wonder you were hired."

Namine sheepishly took back the sketch pad. She quickly put it back in her bag. How could she have grabbed the wrong sketch pad? She must have been really distracted when she was heading out that morning. She really had to focus because she couldn't just leave this one lying around. Who knows what could happen if someone particularly a criminal got a hold of it?
"D-Do you mind if I look at yours?" Namine asked as she gestured to Sunshine's sketch pad - the one the long haired woman had put in her hands.

Sunshine handed her own sketchpad to Namine. Coffee stains and a few pencil suds littered some pages, and hopefully it wouldn't b much trouble. If poor Namine had her artwork stained, the police comissioner would have one of two reactions; anger or annoyance. Namine didn't deserve that kind of treatment given to how cute she was. "I'd be insulted if you didn't look at mine," she beamed. Sunshine's sketchbook wasn't as maccabre. It had sketches of nature mainly, and a few art-deco style drawings that would later be transferred into paintings. Some of her stuff was even creations of watercolor, like the painting she did of the bayou with wisteria blossoming through the Spanish moss and lichen.

Namine looked over the other sketch book. Unlike her work pad, this one had beautiful drawings and cheerful scenes. It was much like Namine's commission work sketch pad. Namine was still embarrassed she had grabbed the wrong notebook on her way out the door. She certainly couldn't draw the river in her work notebook. She might just have to stop at a nearby store and get a temporary replacement.
"Y-You're really good!" Namine said happily.

Sunshine felt her cheeks flush with embarrasment. A girl who drew criminal profiles was calling her artwork good? How could anyone brave enough to make up a face to someone who murdered a family of ix call her childish ideas good? "You take far more risks than me," she admitted with a nervous grin. "but...I can take a compliment. thanks"

"Not really," Namine said quietly.
Risks? She didn't see anything risky about her drawings. Sunshine had the more dangerous job. She was at the front lines helping people, whereas Namine could barely muster courage to talk to a stranger. She was just trying to help the police help people like they helped her. When she had needed help the most, an officer stepped in, arrested her father for hurting her the way he had and she had been freed. She thought that if she could pay the police force back somehow then she was doing something worthwhile. Just holding the notebook in her hands, she could feel the soft drift of happiness coming from the book. Sunshine had really put her heart and soul into the drawings, Namine could tell. It made the tiny blonde smile.
"D-Do you draw a lot?" Namine asked.
