"Well, I...paint more than I draw," Sunshine answered. The sketches in the book were really prototypes for what she wanted to paint. "I...kind of use everything as a canvas. Not that I don't do graffiti or anything," she let out a nervous laugh, "wouldn't want to lose my badge." She fiddled the embroidered wallet that held her badge. The gold star with a demonic face over it; the badge of Bellerpuge Police Others Unit. Only officers in that group had that badge.

"T-That's okay," Namine said. "I don't really paint a lot. But it's f-fun!"
It was nice to have someone she could relate to. She offered Sunshine her sketchbook back with a smile. She caught Sunshine playing with her wallet, which confused the little blonde. Perhaps it was just a nervous habit? Was Namine making her uncomfortable? Or was it the idea of painting and doing something illegal? She wasn't sure. Sunshine seemed to be so well rounded. She was a cop so she was brave, kind and good. Plus, she was an artist, so she was creative and adventurous.

Namine was at least beginning to open up. Sunshine took the right sketchbook that Namine was holding out, smiling warmly. "Yeah, it is fun. But then again, getting messy is kind of the fun part," she chuckled. There were times when she got paint on her. Once, she had gotten a streak painted green, and the officers wouldn't let it go to be a joke. Someone asked if she had been kissed by a dyrad, to which she had made the comeback of working with one.

"You too?" she asked.
Namine gave a small laugh, holding up her hand. There was a hint of graphite along the side of her hand, what she used in her sketches. Sometimes it was charcoal, others it was colored pencil, but today was graphite. The dark stain contrasted heavily in the light colors she wore and the pallor of her skin, normally hinting she had been at her drawings for a while. It seemed they had a lot more in common than Namine thought.

The dark smudges were all too familiar of the story. The good news about them was with just some soap and water, it could wash away easily. Sunshine gave an understanding laugh. Artists were prone to messes. "It's always paint or batter with me. Good for a snack," she joked.

"You b-bake too?" Namine asked in surprise.
Really Sunshine was a jack of all trades. An officer, a baker, an artist. How did she have time for any of it? Namine would have thought a schedule like that was too much for one person to handle. She was like a one person wonder woman. It was so surprising! But admirable since she did so much good.

"Yeah!" Sunshine grinned with a giggle amid her exclamation. "My stepdad owns Nevermore. When I'm not on patrol, I'm in the back whipping up bread and pastries and...whatever they want me to throw in the oven. Kind of helps when your family can bend your schedule so you aren't juggling everything at once." Well, that and she had support from the officers from the BPD, especially Shadow. He had been nice to her since the day they got out of that manor; if it weren't for him, she wouldn't be a cop talking to a fellow artist.

"N-Nevermore is my favorite cafe." she admitted.
She felt rather childish about doing so. She had gone in on every single one of her days off, ordered a different pastry and a different non-coffee drink. Namine and coffee was always a bad mix for the already jittery little blonde. However, the pastries and sweets were really what kept her coming back. She had made it her mission to try each pastry at least once. She had yet to accomplish it but she had a good start.

"Maybe that's why you looked a bit familiar," Sunshine mused. There had been talk of a blonde girl who came in to try the daily pastry of the day. But she usually came either before or after Sunshine's shift. "I sometimes see you when I'm working."

Namine blushed. She hadn't realized that she frequented the shop that the workers recognized her without knowing her name. But she supposed if she made a habit of these things then it was bound to happen.
"M-Maybe," Namine agreed. "B-But I only r-remember you from the s-station."
It was hard to forget the officer with such long hair.

"Really? You never sa..." Sunshine shook her head, "to be fair, I am more often in the back whipping up whatever John wants me to bake. I hold a record of three minutes in preparing a dozen chocolate chip cookies. Maybe I'll bring some by to the station hen I'm called back for duty, leave some for you. Uh...where exactly do you work in the station, if I may?"

Namine smiled a little guiltily. She never stayed at Nevermore long. It often got crowded and the smaller blonde never did well with crowds. It was only a sign of how popular the place was. It was good for business. Namine particularly liked the place because the staff was nice and the police officers frequented, which made her feel safe there.
"You d-don't have to!" Namine insisted. "B-But I'm sure the other of-officers would appreciate it... I, uh, don't h-have a desk or anything to send it to. T-That's okay! I d-don't really need one."

"Namine." Sunshine's tone was firm but gentle. Yelling was not in her agenda unless she was dealing with rowdy customers or creeps who wouldn't cooperate. Besides, someone like Namine didn't deserve to be yelled at. Not now and not ever; if anyone ever did, she would pull up to them and give them a piece of her mind. "I don;t have to, but I want to. Appreciation is something I want to give to everyone who works at the BPD, and that includes you."

Namine looked down at her feet rather sheepishly, looking rather scolded by the off duty officer. She brushed a lock of hair out of her face. With her head bowed, she spared a glance up at Sunshine. Namine didn’t think she did enough to warrant cookies being brought to her. She was just a sketch artist. She was no one important. Not like the officers who risked their lives to save people.
"O-Okay," she murmured, since she couldn't argue against the other woman.

Sunshine sighed with a small shake of her head. "So..." she flipped her hair over her shoulder, the casual tone coming in "outside of taking my family's sweets and drawing, what else are you into doing?" No sooner had she asked that, then her phone let out the mellow tones of Jonny Cash's cover of You Are My Sunshine. "Hold that thought." Only one person had that setting for her ringer. "Shadow?" she asked as she picked up. "Yeah, I'm fine...Yeah, I'm out at Riverfront talking to a friend...Look, I know it was one of them okay? How could I forget that...I'll be fine...take your time. You may run at hypersonic speeds, but that doesn't mean you have to run to find me....I'll head over to your place when I'm done, okay? Because you being by yourself isn't healthy! For me, Shadow. Please? Thanks." She hung up, her green eyes full with nervousness. "Sorry bout that. That was my partner. He's concerned about...something that happened."
