Elsa nodded. "Our last Seelie cop joked that she had a convertible. The top was ripped clean off to avoid any iron reactions." That car was then used as an undercover vehicle when the fey retired. It came in handy for stings. At least, all the stings the lawyer had been a part of watching.
"Does all that flying stress out your wings?" Sunshine inquired. She didn't know whether or not that was a foot in the mouth, so she just bit into her sandwich

"I wouldn't use the car myself if I retired. I don't really have any fondness for them." she said.
Mostly because she felt trapped inside one if she was driving. If anything she would will it out to the next faery or werewolf the department took on. Those with metal allergies or special conditions. She preferred to fly. It was just one of those things that felt good after a long day, relaxing even, unless she was chasing something or someone like a criminal.
"It's not all that bad, only if I fly non-stop for a few days or I carry something heavy." she said. "Like another person. Then it makes my back hurt."

"Okay, so it's just like every other muscle..." Sunshine said around a mouthful. Crumbs spittled onto her napkin. She swallowed with a nervous giggle, wiping her mouth. She stood up, ready to go back to her desk...but nearly knocked over the coffee with her name scribbled in elaborate hand in a purple pen; her favorite color.
"Aww, Shadow got Mom when he walked in," she held the coffee like a little kid held their favorite toy. After beaming, she sipped it, delighted to taste the hazelnut creamer greeting her.
Elsa shook her head with a smile. It was hard to be annoyed with Sunshine's semi-childish antics "Good to see Wendy is still working there. She was doing quite a tizzy with the Seddon sun healing at the ball."

"I guess so. I'm afraid I don't quite know human biology." Aqua said.
She smiled when Sunshine gushed over her coffee. Seems Shadow knew his partner quite well. He knew who to go to for Sunshine's favorite drinks. Aqua would have to put forth a little more effort with her partnership with Riku. Aqua cast a smile to Elsa. Sunshine was sweet. It was hard not to feel a little cheery when she was around.
"Did you hear that the model that was there... Mr. Agreste's son is covering the hospital bills of everyone at the party who got hurt?" Aqua asked.

"What?" Elsa was sputtering a laugh at the gossip. The Agrestes were putting forth money to pay for the damages that happened at the ball? The money they spent usually went to fashion lines or events that weren't as fancy as the Lafayettes, but were still full of ritz. "How did his family react?" Elsa may have sounded shocked, which she was, but the other truth was she found news of a rich person helping the community refreshing. Nowadays, people spent money to benefit themselves and degrade others or vice versa.
"I didn't know he was a model," Sunshine swallowed her coffee sip. "I mean, he has those big eyes, so contacts I could buy him modeling."

"Well, his dad issued a statement. But Adrien is paying for this one all on his own." Aqua said.
She thought it was nice of the young man. He had come from wealth and gave back to those who needed it because he wanted to make sure that they were taken care of. It was something rather commendable. He wasn't looking for thanks. He was just paying it back to the people in the town. After what happened and how many people got hurt, the city certainly needed a little assistance. They couldn't exactly be picky about how gave it.
"I just know he's a model he did commercials for a cologne my bo- ex-boyfriend used to like." she trailed off after her mistake.

"Okay, those eyes plus cologne equals interesting ad," Sunshine admitted. The modeling world was something that almost cut her deep. The people who sacrificed fresh good just to retain a body that could easily be broken. She swallowed her sandwich's final legs.
Elsa went to the recycling to throw her trash away. The salad scraps were swept down the drain. "Which cologne?"

"I can't... remember. It had a French name. If I saw the bottle I'd know it," Aqua shrugged.
She hadn't needed to buy a bottle of the cologne in over six months. She used to just be able to smell it and know that Terra was or had been nearby. It used to make her feel happy, now it just left a bitter taste in her mouth. She didn't like talking about Terra, but this was like ripping off the Band-Aid, she told herself. She had to talk about it at some point and she had to get over it. For the sake of her new partnership and her new friends. For her own sake so she stopped drowning her sorrows in chases that led nowhere.
"But it was for my ex so it's not important anymore." she said.

"Fair enough. A lot of colognes here have French names," Elsa answered.
"The cologne?" Sunshine sputtered with a laugh. Cologne was one thing, but, "everything in this town has some kind of French name!"

"Probably explains why I forgot the name." Aqua shrugged.
She wasn't at all bothered that she couldn't remember the name of the cologne. She had no reason to buy it anymore. She had no reason to want the scent around. She didn't need to keep reminders of what she used to have. The cologne would have just been one more reminder of what happened. It reminded her to go through and purge more of his things from her apartment later that evening.
"You could always find out what kind of cologne Riku uses," Aqua suggested with a smile.

Elsa had just burst into uncontrolled laughter. The childish crush Sunshine had on Riku was making the blonde cop seem younger than she was. The lawyer had also been in a slight love, not so deep as Aqua and Terra before the rift but also not too shallow to be a crush, so she knew the humor could be found.
Sunshine just sank deeper into the chair. Her cheeks were turning red again. The foil ball was crumbling in her hands. But before she could ask, she just pictured the stern look on Shadow's face if she ever did come in with some perfume outside of her cheap "Amber" body spray.
"I haven't even told Shadow yet. He's still mad about that burglar who hit on me."

"Why would he be mad?" Aqua asked. "Did the burglar say something inappropriate?"
Aqua instantly grew worried. Criminals were never very polite and often looked down on female officers. The thought of someone being unkind or untoward with Sunshine set Aqua on edge. How anyone could do that was beyond her? Sunshine was too good for that sort of behavior. Shadow did have justified reason to be worried.
"And what thief is this?" she asked.

"Some cat burglar who thinks he knows everything because he hacks into people's accounts, and stalks them, and writes down everything about them," Sunshine threw her hands up. Chat was an arrogant, annoying pest. Her eyes were glinting just thinking about him. "He didn't do anything sexual harrasment wise, but man, was his 'flirty gentleman' act getting old. He had the gall to hold up the jewel he stole and say it looked good on me." She felt herself getting hostile, and realized maybe she was overreacting. He hadn't gone too far in terms of flirting, but it did rub her the wrong way that someone who worked outside the law had his eye on her.

"Geeze, Sunshine, steal all the eligible men, why don't you?" Aqua teased.
She then laughed. It was kind of funny. A triangle (though unknowningly a quadrangle) all towards Sunshine. It sounded like a soap opera. Sunshine liked Riku but she didn't know if he liked her back but this burglar seemingly liked her enough to flirt but she didn't like him. It seemed like the thief had gotten away if Sunshine's frustration with the whole thing had been right.
"As long as he doesn't try anything, I guess." she said.

"He at least have some potential clues, so the meeting wasn't entirely pointless," Sundhine admitted. All of Chat's claims were being analyzed now by the department. The bank account was still being waited on, but everything about the families he had stalked here coming up as true.
"There's the Sunshine we know," Elsa pointed, "finding the positive light in a bad situation." She jokingly snapped her fingers, making a tiny flurry of snowflakes, "just let us know if he does something funny."
Sunshine giggled. It wasn't like Elsa to let her guard down and be friendly. But she had been doing it much more lately, and it was refreshing. Suddenly her phone beeped. It was a text from Shadow, saying he needed her in the interrogation room
"Sorry, ladies, I got to go."
