Omar had gone through a sound change when he had recovered Jane. He had stopped being and feeling so angry. Of course, the absence of raging at the police had caused more introspective moments and drunken nights weeping and reading old letters that Cindy had given him when she had gone on short trips. “I miss you” always the words he focused on. He would never get to see her, being immortal. It was lonely. At least he had Jane. He strummed on his guitar as his new drummer and back up singer/guitarist backed him up. When necessary Sinbad busted out the electric guitar. Of course, they went to their more popular songs from the old stuff, but they focused mainly on their new sound.

Well, an unexpected guest had come to listen to the band. Shadow has just come in, wanting to drown out the voice in his head telling him about what he had to do to regain his memories. And his choice of drowning out; cherry cola, bourbon, and pomegranate juice. He was sipping when a flash of red hair came on stage
Omar.
The troll was up with his band. They had been respectful during interrogations, and Omar's passion for his band had been shown. He listened to the band, nodding once in a while for each swing.
He took one swif before approaching the stage. A few wadded bills were thrown into the tip jar before he settled back to his bar stool

Omar started on an oldie but goodie of his when a wad of money was tossed into his tip jar.Tat was pretty early. He usually didn't get anything till later in his show. He almost lost the beat, staring at the money and looking for the tipper. It was the hedgehog looking humanoid cop. Omar stared and then continued the song.
“ We unite, you and me.. In death Our bodies decay.. Undressed Your cold breath feels so warm in the cloud Gorgeous ash, shake the dead in their shrouds
Bitter defeat, yeah I wasn't so clever Just give me one dance before I lose you forever
When we die, we will be lovers in heaven Uncharted world, brave and new On the starlit stage, we'll be cloud dancing in heaven I'll kiss and taste all of you When we die, we will be lovers in heaven Join me in death my old love On the starlit stage, we'll be cloud dancing in heaven I kneel for you from above “
He swayed to the sound of the music as he sang and imagined Cindy dancing to the song from wherever she was. He wondered if she could hear him.

Oops, beat got skipped. Well, a musician who made mistakes was proven to be human, no matter if the musician was Other or not. Shadow continued to sip his beverage, noting that Omar was...emoting quite well. The lyrics were going back and forth between staying with a lover even in the afterlife or...a bizarre sex routine that even E.L. James would call fluffed, the cloud analogies were not helping. But, he just avoided the lyrics, focusing on the sound, ad nodding as some people applauded.

Omar got through the song, lingering on the next note before he put down his guitar and nodded to his back-up singer, a humanoid fox woman named Kitty. "Alright folks, this is a new one of mine I just wrote for a special little girl. She's not here to sing it with me, but I hope when she hears it she likes it anyway" He coughed and began with Kitty singing along.
"Omar: Held in my arms, held so tight
then dreams of loved turned a fright
one awful night you disappeared
my baby girl my little dear.
Where have you gone?
On a journey so long
grown from babe to woman
may the wings of your mother enclose you
keep you safe till you come home.
Kitty: Life is a blur,
a piece of me always missing
You let me slip through your fingers
I was gone.
I missed you,
I missed you!
Where have you gone?
I’m lost on a journey so long
grown from babe to woman
may the wings of mother enclose you
keep you safe till I come home...”
Omar grew a little teary eyed as he sang and hoped if he ever sang it again, Jane would be there to sing it with him. As it was, it sounded good and he liked the harmonization of Kitty with him. It sounded pretty decent honestly. There were some minor tweaks he felt, but otherwise it was pretty good.

Next to Omar was Kitty, the cat girl who had been with him during the arrest. They sing a duet, which Shadow picked on, was filled with somber mess. He had mentioned a kidnapping when they first met, and the song did sound more appropriate for a father-daughter. He took a swig, but his mind relapsed.
Maria was kneeling against a console, coughing. Her face was pale. Shadow was standing by her, holding her clammy hand. Kneeling near by was a balding man in a lab coat, who looked at the girl.
"What happened?" He asked.
"I just..tried singing, Grandpa" Maria answered in a break of her coughing. "Then when I started to dance, I just...started coughing and fell."
Shadow had nodded. "It's true. I managed to get her before she got hurt."
The scientist patted Maria again, color was returning to her face. "Shadow. You know I'm counting on you."
"I know, Professor." Shadow blinked back as the memory faded. He was back at the Bourbon. But who was the professor? Why did he remember him now? The duet got him. Omar and Kitty. Father daughter. That's right

Omar and Kitty finished singing and Omar nodded to her. He did a version of Billie Jean, which got a roar of approval from the crowd, and then finished up his set with a few more old songs. Then he went to the bar and sat by Shadow, who seemed lost in thought. He ordered one Kicker with a garnish of rosemary, his personal favorite garnish strange as it was and nodded to Shadow. "Looked like you seemed to enjoy the set" he said conversationally.

No surprise that none of the band mates were around. But Shadow was glad to see the troll held no ill will towards the tangle up after the brutal battle of the bands. He took another sip of his drink before replying, "You said it yourself, I'm some who appreciates the rock genre. Nice cover of Billie Jean. Not many of these people know that classic."

"You definitely don't look like a guy who enjoys opera, and besides classical there's rock. I could see you rockin an electric more than a violin anyhow" Omar smirked and sipped his drink. It was good, as per usual. "Bah. People who don't know Billie Jean aren't worth my time" Omar waved his hand dismissively. "Classics are still new songs in my book though, being immortal, but Billie Jean is going to be timeless. I'll make sure of that" He nodded to Shadow's drink. "What'er ya havin there?"

"Immortality comes with a price. You keep things close but watch time decay sons precious parts." There were times Shadow wished he could take his own comments. He of course was talking as a fellow immortal, but the precious parts...without a past it was tough to say. He pointed to his drink at Omar's question. "This? They call it a Chaos Blast. Named after a...signature move I have." He patted his inhibitor rimgs, which winked in the light. "These babies hold my power back so I don't cause a bar fight."

Omar sighed and nodded somberly into his glass. "You don't know how many lovers have died in my arms over the centuries, or the descendants I've had to bury. The most recent being my Cindy and my son Danny" his voice shook a little with repressed emotion. "I know time eats away the hurt, but it always is a slow wound to heal" He sighed and then smirked. "I'd like to see that some time. Not aimed at me of course" he chuckled slightly.

Why was Omar telling him this? He hardly knew him. There was sympathy, it was just hidden beneath the indifference. At least he and Omar had a common ground on losing a loved one...or if that was the case. Was Maria someone he cared about? Was she a decoy? Who was she? He pushed the thought aside. Memory lane was broken. He added a dry laugh to Omar on girls. "At least you have lovers. In case you haven't noticed, nobody wants to get intimate with...a...hedgehog. The ones that do are either very drugged slash drunk or very strange."

Omar eyed Shadow up and down and downed a drink. "I wouldn't mind you, man. I've had stranger lovers in my time. One was a Jesus Christ Lizard woman with control over water named Calamity Jade. I was damp all the time. I think she still lives in the swamp, actually" He shrugged. "And no, I'm not hitting on you. Dunno what my daughter would say and I'm not a fan of cops generally speaking. You seem fine enough. You like rock music, that helps"

Shadow narrowed his eyes. Even Omar had been joking, there was not a requited interest. He held up an arm much like a vampire or the rainbow wrap sneeze. A punch would be too cruel, and besides, the arm was always defensive. But he lowered the stance when Omar said he wasn't hitting on him. "Did you and Cindy ever, you know, tie the knot?"

Omar chuckled at Shadows reaction and was glad his response didn’t warrant getting punched, Omar would have hit back. Omar sombered at the question and shook his head. “No. We had kids together, but never really wanted to tie the knot. I asked once but Cindy said she wasn’t the marrying type. Just as well for me, I’ve been a widower I don’t know how many times. It was....easier, actually. With not being married” he swallowed and downed his drink in two swallows before ordering another. “Ever had someone like that, or was work your love?”
