Riku sighed. He had to agree with his partner. There was no way Sunshine could have known what would happen. He hadn't even known. "Sunshine, this would have happened eventually, with or without you. My arm would have healed on its own. I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at Vanitas" that freak of a kid was the reason this had happened in the first place. And for what? Riku hadn't done anything to him! Though now that he cast his mind back to the event... "Aqua, you need to be careful. He said something about hurting you in particular. I don't know what happened that made him hate you, but I got enough out of him during our encounter that he revealed he wanted to hurt you"

Sunshine was crying. Aqua flinched and immediately she knelt before the crying woman. It was a purely Seelie reaction. Crying always brought that kinder nature to the surface. Easy to predict and even easier to take advantage of, but Aqua allowed it to take control. She grabbed a tissue off the desk before pressing it to Sunshine's hand. The badge had been set on the floor once again. Terra. Just having his bloody badge was like confirming her worst fears. But her just putting it down was also a telling sign. If he was gone, she needed to focus on the living. Her new partner and her new friends...
"I don't... think it had anything to do with me." She whispered. "Terra... and Vanitas are connected. I just... I don't know how. I'm not sure if I want to know."
She was scared to find out.

Sunshine's hand closed over the tissue Aqua gave her. Saying nothing, she sat at her desk and proceeded to dab her eyes. She was embarrassed more than anything. The only thing she did once in a while was take a sip of her hazelnut coffee. But somehow, thatvjust didn't taste so good. Sunshine set the coffee aside, asking "Shadow, can you get me a mint tea?"
"Absolutely."
The answer was given to her, along with a pat on the hand. He could finally add comfort to the situation. He didn't need to rub salt to Aqua's pain by saying that to get to the truth, you had to face what frightened you. It was how he was getting answers, wasn't he? By going into high security prisons to face demons that uncannily looked like him? It was why he fought in the Beacon ring, to get more experience with them. The ideas scared him, but the hope of finding answers to he was what kept him forward. "Good luck, Riku," was the last thing he said before zipping off to get Sunshine her request ((End thread))
