"A-Ah, I... Don't know. Omar s-says it can be done b-but I don't know if he wants..."
Sharing his last name? Namine would like that. But like all things with Omar, he just bullied his way through them. Figure out the details later, just get it done now. She didn't know what all it would entail. It was an immortal adopting her after all. Nothing she did would change the fact she was barely even a breath in his lifetime. All the blonde knew was that she now had a family of her choice, not by blood.

"Oh come on, it has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?" Adeline joked. "Seriously though, I'm sure he wouldn't mind. I mean, he is making you a part of the family." If Omar really wanted Namine as his daughter, why wouldn't he want her to share his last name? "What's he like anyway? I don't think I've ever met him." The most she had seen was any news about him once Namine and Jane had been rescued. The photos of him made him seem more like a punk than a dad. Maybe he had a softer side though. Some people were like that. Heck, Pitch was as serious as all get-out, but he was a caring person once you got to know him.

Namine blushed. She would have to talk to Omar about that little detail when he went to whatever lawyer who would actually help him with this. Her biological family was either non-existent or a dead beat - as Aqua put it. She hadn't thought about names until Adeline brought it up. But it made her feel happier. If she had been as emotional as when Omar proposed the idea, she might have cried. Luckily, for both her and Adeline's sake, she was not.
"He d-does get into fights, but h-he's really nice. He w-walked me home w-when we first met." Namine explained. "A-And he w-went to get the police e-even though he probably h-hates them as much as Jane."

Adeline gave a little chuckle. "Tough guy with a heart, huh?" It almost reminded her of Axel. Granted, she hadn't seen him beat anybody up, but still. He could be a little intimidating, with his fiery red hair and sharp green eyes. Plus, there was the fact that he was a demon. Still, he listened to Adeline whenever she had a problem. Heck, she could complain about her love life to him and he'd listen. Although, she wasn't sure how she'd give him an update about her and Pitch, considering that their relationship was best kept a secret for now. She was hoping he wouldn't ask about it, but knowing Axel, he probably would. And she had no idea what kind of answer to give him if he did.

Namine nodded happily. That was Omar to a T. He acted all big and tough, but he was so kind and sweet. Yet, he had a lingering sadness around him. Maybe it was because the centuries hadn't been kind. When was life ever kind? Namine wasn't sure what she could do to make the look in his eyes go away. And when Vanitas had given him the phone to talk to Namine and Jane, he had sounds so scared and so frightened, despite what he kept telling her, his reassurances that he would save them, that he cared about her like she was his own daughter, that she just had to be brave.
"H-He made me a cake after... what happened." Namine said, as if only confirming Adeline's statement.

Adeline laughed. "Cake does have a way of making people feel better," she agreed. Heck, the coffeehouse here sold slices of cake pretty often, and they were delicious. Although, Adeline had to admit, she was pretty partial to their muffins. Hers was already gone, leaving just her drink to quietly sip on every so often. "I guess Jane gets her toughness from him?" she guessed. It sounded like the two were pretty alike. It tended to happen with parents and their kids. Adeline was no exception. Her love of books and studious nature came from her mother. Her quiet nature and determination to master whatever she put her mind to came from her father. Of course, neither of them had tried to summon a demon like she had. That was her own mistake, and she couldn't blame anybody else for it.

"It does d-doesn't it?" Namine mused.
She hadn't thought of it that way. But when Omar had shown up with a cake in hand, she couldn't help but feel a little better. She wasn't sure if it was because of the cake itself or because he put the effort into making one for her. To be fair, Namine had a sweet tooth and she wouldn't likely turn down anything he brought her.
"M-Maybe?" Namine said. "I d-don't know w-what she was like before."
Jane was a tough, take no prisoners type of person. She looked after herself just fine. But she also had the same sort of heart that her father did. One that was easily shared with everyone she knew, who deserved the kindness. However, if you wronged her, as Vanitas had, Jane was liable to knock your teeth out.

Namine's reply did make Adeline wonder: How much was Jane like her mother? Namine had said that she, along with Jane's brother, had died. What was she like? This family dynamic seemed interesting to her, and she wanted to know more. But, she felt like she had asked several questions about her already. Maybe she should save anymore she had for another time. Or she could ask Namine to introduce her to her new family. That could work too. However, at that moment, her phone vibrated. She picked it up. It was a text from her mom, saying that she had been out for a while and wondered when she was getting home. Adeline knew what that meant. When her mom started wondering when she would get back, it usually meant that she was worried. And now, with all that had happened, her mother's concern had doubled, as had her father's. Adeline figured it was probably best to head back. Heck, she could even tell them about Namine. At least, the non-worrying parts. She sipped the rest of her drink before saying "I'd better get going. My mom's starting to worry." She paused for a moment before asking "You wanna head out too? I can walk you back to your place." Adeline figured her parents would at least allow that. Besides, she didn't want to leave Namine alone if it would make her nervous.

"O-Oh, um... Only if it's not too much trouble." Namine said.
She knew it was silly to depend on escorts everywhere she went, but she was still scared. She didn't want Adeline to go out of her way for her. Especially if her mother was getting worried about her. Still, Namine was a grown adult. She couldn't let this shape her forever. That much she had taken away from her conversation with Adeline, but how to go about moving past everything, left the blonde at a loss. She finished the last of her tea.

"It's fine, don't worry about it," Adeline assured her. "I think my mom will just be happy that I made a new friend in the first place." She gave a little laugh before sending a text, explaining that she was walking a friend home and would be heading back after that. She knew her mom was worried about her being so isolated that she never made any friends. Heck, her dad worried too. But Adeline felt like she was doing better in that department. Sure, she didn't have a ton of friends, but she had Pitch. And Axel. And now Namine. That was a good start, at least. "Is your place far from here? I've got a bus pass if we need a lift."

Namine shook her head. "I-I'm only two blocks over." she said.
That was the nice part about it. Not far from work. Not far from the cafe. The only place she was far from were the good art stores, with the supplies she liked, but Namine didn't need supplies often. Plus, the way things got delivered these days, at one point she could have become a shut in and no one would know. But now she had people who did care and would push her out of the house at the first chance they got. It was overwhelming but only in the best way possible.
"I-Is that out of your way?"

Adeline shook her head. "Nah, it's fine. Really." Adeline might have to walk a little farther to get home, but really, she just wanted Namine to feel safe on the way back to her place. That was worth going a little out of her way for. She headed towards the front door of the bakery, making sure Namine wasn't too far behind. "My parents and I live in this neighborhood not too far away from here. The only time the walk is annoying is if it's super cold or, like, 100 degrees out and I'm wearing black or something." She gave a smile, hoping she was lightening up the mood a little bit. It was true, though. While Adeline usually liked dark colors, she couldn't wear them much in the summer since they absorbed so much heat. And summers in Bellergoue could be brutal sometimes.

Namine quickly gathered her things before trailing behind Adeline, falling in line like a little duck. It was probably a little silly that Namine felt better knowing there was someone with her. But it had been drilled in her head that there was safety in numbers. She took the numbers where she could get them at times.
"Y-Yeah, but m-maybe you could try a different color?" Namine suggested.
Namine saw color coordination as an artistic palette. She wore white because she felt she was bland and fit into the background. Colors were for people who were meant to pop. Aqua favored water colors: purples, blues and greens. Adeline didn't have to stick to blacks, but if she liked them then Namine couldn't try convince her other otherwise.

Adeline chuckled. "My parents would probably have a heart attack if I wore pink or something," she joked. "I don't think I've worn that since I was, like, five." Namine's solution was a simple one, though. Just wearing lighter colors would make walking around in hot weather a little easier. Maybe something lighter would be nice though. Maybe some greens, or blues. Or maybe even white. Although, if she wore that standing next to Pitch, the contrast would probably throw people off. Like her, he was usually in black. Maybe it was just a demon thing. Who knew?

Namine giggled. No. Adeline was not a pink sort of girl, just as Namine wasn't. Neither of them were lace and frill sort of girls either. They didn't typically favor those types of clothes. It wasn't comfortable for them. It was like trying to make Shadow wear pink. It wouldn't look right, just based on personality alone. Namine couldn't help but smile. They went from her 'trauma' with Vanitas to color palettes? How strange.
"I didn't say pink, but maybe p-purple? Or... um, grey even? Grey can be like bl-black but it's lighter?" Namine offered.
