Weiss shifted her bag on her shoulder as she walked, her shadow spirits not too far behind. Night had fallen a while back, and she was late on getting back to the house. Still, she felt happy. She had finally found some texts on dark voodoo magic at the library. She was sure there must be some things in them about these shadow spirits and how she could control them properly. Of course, now that they were actually talking to her, she felt like she was understanding them a bit better. While she was still wary around them at times, she was learning more about them each day, and that eased some of her worries. People always said that things were a lot scarier if they remained unknown, after all. At the moment, the shadow spirits fluttered here and there, enjoying being out at night for once. Of course, they still stayed out of people's sight. They didn't seem to want anyone to know about them yet, and frankly, Weiss wanted the same. She wondered if they were afraid people might separate them from her, if they found out. Regardless, she walked quickly, hoping her parents wouldn't get onto her for staying out so late.

The night breeze was just what the boy had wanted. It helped calm his nerves quite a bit. While most of the time, the speedster would be out in his mask and suit protecting those who needed it, but the town was very quiet tonight. Even heroes needed time off right? Still, his conversation with Chat Noir was still haunting him. There was a demon out there, not to mention other criminals. What was the plan? When would they make a move? Just who were they? So many questions and little answers. Not to mention he still hadn't been able to find anything behind the circumstances of his mother's death.
The teen shook his head, and adjusted his jacket as he walked. Walking felt so weird now but running would only give himself away. His green eyes rose from the ground. There in front of him was a beautiful girl, beautiful wasn't the right word but Wally didn't care. Her hair was white as snow. She almost looked like a princess. His mother always taught him to be a gentleman to a lady, and with the streets and criminals running loose, Wally wanted to make sure she was safe.
Not just that he wanted to talk to her. 'Alright, just play it cool West, don't say anything stupid,' he thought, before smoothing his hair and making sure he didn't look like he had just come out of a street brawl before approaching. "Evening Miss." he said politely.

Weiss noticed her shadow spirits skittering away and wondered who was nearby. She soon got her answer when a boy greeted her, with bright red hair and green eyes. He seemed polite enough, but Weiss had never met him before, so she wasn't about to trust him in a heartbeat. She was usually like that with strangers. Sure, she was still formal and polite, but when it came to her actually confiding in someone, that took a very long time. Her shadow spirits watched unseen from behind a bush. They didn't seem too wary though, not like they were with Eve, so maybe this boy wasn't much of a threat. "Evening," she replied cordially. She wondered what teenager took strolls around the neighborhood at night. People still seemed wary about being on the streets after dark ever since the jail break. But maybe this guy was running late getting somewhere too.

Wait. Wait. She had actually responded back to him? Most girls would have never given him a time of day. What did he do now? Crap. He didn't think that far through. He supposed it did come off as a a bit a weird for him to approach her at night. 'Say something you idiot?' he thought, 'Don't just stand there like an idiot.'
"Nice night tonight isn't it?" he asked, hoping he wasn't coming off too nervous 'Almost as beautiful as you.' That unspoken pick-up line came into his mind. He had a feeling that his flirting would only make her more suspicious and think he was some kind of sleaze-ball who wanted to just hunt around for pretty girls.

"Yeah. I guess it is." Weiss glanced up at the sky. Despite the city lights drowning out most of the stars, the moon was still visible, which was nice. It was nearly full, but not quite. It'd probably take a few more days for it to become a full moon. She hoped it wouldn't give any werewolves running around here too much trouble. "So, what exactly are you doing out here at this hour?" she asked. She may have come off as suspicious, but she felt like it was a legitimate question. Sure, it wasn't midnight or anything, but people didn't exactly go for a stroll after the sun had set. She at least had an end destination in mind: home. She wondered where this kid was going.

Wally frowned a bit, "I have a lot on my mind, actually. Walking around kind of helps me clear my head." he replied. The streets weren't exactly safe but it didn't matter, he had his speed if things got only ugly. However he wasn't sure if other people including the girl in front of him had powers but that's what he always had to be on the look for. "No destination really in mind."
What else could he say, he didn't want to get into his troubles, especially his life with someone who, he just happen to meet on the street. Despite the late night or even with people around it was still a bit hard to even think about talking about what happened with anyone. "What about yourself? A beautiful lady like yourself shouldn't be walking around at night on their own?"
Why? Why did he just say that? What the hell? What was wrong with him? He probably just pissed her off.Not to mention probably sounded even more like a creeper. Girls could protect themselves, he knew that, so why did he have to jump the conclusion that this girl couldn't?

Weiss raised an eyebrow. What troubles could be on this guy's mind? He seemed perky enough. However, he didn't go into details, and Weiss didn't ask for them. Butting into people's personal lives was rude. Besides, she wasn't about to spout her problems to a stranger. Why should she expect this boy to do the same? He soon asked what she was doing out though, and she had to frown at the "beautiful lady" part. It reminded her a little too much of boys from the past, who wanted to get with her only because of the perks of her last name. Women used to do the same with Riku. "Just coming back from the library," she said as she patted the side of her bag, which had all her books in tow. "Ran a bit late. I'm just on my way home now." Sure, her parents might worry about her being out too late, but she doubted she'd be in any real danger. Most threats around here could be taken care of by her shadow spirits. No doubt they were amused at the boy's comment about Weiss being out here on her own. As long as she had them around, she was never really alone.

He thought all women liked to hear that they were beautiful. Maybe there was some harsh things in the past that made her hate that? Well, if that was the case, he could think of something more better. Enchanting? Yeah, that could work. After all she looked like a princess maybe enchanting was a better word for her beauty. 'Don't do anything else stupid, just be yourself, smile and introduce yourself. Maybe offer to walk her home?' So many choices in his head. What was he meant to do first. Why couldn't he have incredible powers that could make this easier. Normally pick up lines came easy to him but something told him that using a line would make things worse. Pick up lines would wait. "Ah, I see." he replied. He barely been to the library but maybe she liked to read "Were you studying? Or just going there for fun?" Say your name idiot! Introduce yourself.

Weiss wasn't sure if her demeanor was making this guy nervous, or if that was just his personality. The former had happened plenty of times. If boys weren't trying to go out with her because of her last name, they were usually intimidated by it. The LaFayettes were at the top for a reason after all, especially in the voodoo world. When he asked what she had been doing at the library, she hesitated for a moment. What exactly could she say? The stuff she was looking into wasn't exactly for fun. It was serious work. And she wasn't really studying it for school. This was more like a soul-searching thing for her right now. She hoped that if she found out more about these shadow spirits, maybe she could find out more about herself, and whether she was light, dark, or somewhere in between. She decided to go for the simplest answer and replied with "For fun, I guess. I wanted to learn some new things about voodoo, and I finally found some new material."

"Voodoo huh, that's a new one for me." He rubbed the back of his head. He kind of forgot that he had barely gotten into this town and didn't know everything there was to know. Voodoo. Who would have thought that was something that people studied. Maybe she was a gifted then. That could only be an explanation. "That's an interesting subject to be studying didn't think that anyone studied something like that anymore." Okay, now it was getting a bit easier to talk to her. Maybe it was just the frown that had set him off. "West, I mean uh, Wally West, that's me. Nice to meet you." There. He had done it. Now all he had do was smile and lay on the charm. That got all the ladies.

Weiss gave the boy a look. Was he new in town? She felt like that was the only explanation for him not knowing much about voodoo. The LaFayettes were known for it, and New Orleans, one of the biggest hubs for witch doctors in the country, wasn't too far away. Heck, she was surprised he hadn't recognized her. Most people did, although not many of them actually walked up and talked to her. They regarded her as being on a level they just couldn't reach, that she was above them all. Weiss had liked that feeling when she was younger, that feeling of being above everyone else, knowing that she was better. But it had gotten tiresome for her as she had gotten older. Now, she resented it. Being a LaFayette made it hard to her to make friends. She could probably count all of the ones she had on one hand. And even then, she couldn't tell them everything. Otherwise, she would have confided in one of them about her shadow spirits by now. "Voodoo's prominent around here, and even more so in New Orleans," she said coolly. "You'll see the more time you spend here." The boy introduced himself as Wally West. It sounded ordinary enough to Weiss, although it did have some nice alliteration to it. "Weiss LaFayette," she replied. "Normally, I'd say that you already knew that, but it seems that you didn't." It was interesting, meeting someone who didn't know who she was. Even she could admit that much.

Though news travels really fast. I have already learned quite a bit about the news that's gone around though." Living here was certainly much more different than any other town or city he had lived in, news certainly traveled much more quickly here. "I would however, love to get to know you a bit more." Yeah, there we go, back in the groove. He wasn't laying it on too strong to the point it was creepy or uncomfortable. Some would call it cheesy and desperate. But that wasn't the point, it was how he rolled if nothing else he really did want to get to know Weiss more maybe by doing that he could learn much more about this city . And if nothing else, he wanted to be sure that she got home safe. Even if she was into Voodoo and could protect herself, the speedster felt it was his job to at least make sure of things.

So, Weiss's suspicions were correct. Wally was new. He wanted to get to know this place better, and her. But she wondered how much she could say to the guy. It was no secret to her friends how she felt about this lifestyle, and her parents. She may be able to play the part of a perfect little daughter, but she knew that most of the people surrounding her and her parents were fake. They did things just to please them, in the hopes that they would gain favor. They were usually after money or power. And people like her and Adrien were trapped. Elsa had a bit more control of her life, but the damage had already been done. She was reserved around others, even to the point of coldness. She knew the people around her were fake most of the time, just like Weiss did. Weiss felt like she couldn't spew all that stuff at Wally, not when they had just met. Besides, would he even understand? Most people didn't, and sometimes, it was hard to explain. "Okay. What do you want to know?" she asked, glancing back up at Wally. Based on what he said, it sounded like he had heard a bit about the jail break and Thrax. That wasn't exactly a secret. She did wonder if he had heard about her involvement with him though. Some news sources had reported about her fighting him off to save Yang. Of course, nobody knew about the shadow spirits she had summoned in order to survive. That was still a secret.

She was quiet at first, which was understandable. It was pretty spooky stuff hearing about the demon breaking other criminals out. Maybe he could start her off slow. According to his mom, when she had been around, Wally had had a way of lightening a tense mood and was easy to talk to. He thought about that for a moment, on how he could make this a little less tense. At least she was willing to talk to him. "You mentioned voodoo. Is that a family practice?" Start by asking about herself, he did want to know about the demon attack and everything else. But that seemed to be too soon. It was better to ease into things like that, rather than jump the gun.

She nodded. "Yeah. All LaFayettes were tied to voodoo, one way or another." Of course, some used voodoo for different purposes. Riku used it to helped out the Others unit. Meanwhile, her parents tended to use it further their own influence and oversee others in the voodoo community. They tended to have the final voice on any decisions made. "Someone in the family has held the position of Voodoo King or Queen for several generations now. Once I'm old enough and prove my skill, I'll get the position next." It still wasn't a 100% sure-fire thing, but Weiss felt like if she kept on the path she was going, then she would surely get it. She knew a lot of spells, was decent when fighting, and was on her parents' good side at the moment. Getting their influence was important. Without their blessing, she'd never get the position. And once she had these shadow spirits under her belt, she'd become even more powerful.
