Really, Weiss should have expected a question about her scar. Most people ended up asking about it, either bluntly or subtly. Still, it made her stomach churn as unpleasant memories flashed through her mind. She had never been so scared in all her life, and the thought of what might have happened to her kept her awake sometimes at night. The shadow spirits seemed to sense her unease, and while they didn't communicate with her mentally, she could feel their reassurances, like a friendly pat on the shoulder. They were here for her, and they would protect her. While the thought of them always being around might have unnerved her a few weeks ago, now it comforted her. Having somebody always looking out for her was an unfamiliar sensation for her, and it made her feel protected. "Got into a fight with a demon," she said, her words only slightly tense.

A demon? Wait? Was she the other woman that Chat had mentioned Thrax had attacked and hurt. That explained quite a bit actually. He doubted that she would have recieved a scar from a regular criminal. Only demons were probably powerful enough to injure someone with voodoo magic. "I see." he replied. "Well, i think the scar makes you look pretty bad-ass." Was that the right thing to say? Maybe it would help boost her attitude.
Wait...maybe calling a woman a bad-ass was insulting. Did girls ever want to be called something like that. It seemed like such a guy term to be used but maybe it was okay. "I think it also suits you, you look like a warrior princess."

Wally didn't ask anymore questions, and instead actually complimented the scar, saying it made her look cool. Weiss had to appreciate the thought behind that, although she wasn't sure if she was bad-ass or not. People looked at her confrontation with Thrax and usually just called her foolish or reckless. She wasn't sure if she particularly liked it either. She knew some good had come out of the whole situation. She had saved Yang, and had given Thrax a pretty nasty scar of his own. But she just felt like her scar reminded her of the bad stuff more than the good. She had become a different person since then. She was throwing herself into her voodoo studies, and slowly understanding her shadow spirits better and better. And who knew what the end result of that would be. Still, she looked at Wally and said "Thanks," with a tiny smile.

She smiled! Yes! Score one for Wally. He couldn't help but feel proud that he had gotten to at least making someone feel happy especially when they were feeling down. Weiss, while not a downer, seemeded to hide a lot of her emotions. Maybe that was because of the reporters. "No problem." what else could he say. He wasn't sure how she would react to him asking to escort her home. That seemed a bit too out there. Was it being too pushy?
"Hope you don't mind prying into your life so much. You can bug me about mine if you want." While Wally wasn't entirely comfortable telling Weiss about what happened, he could at least tell parts of the truth.
(ooc: this interaction is so great so far)

Weiss gave a shrug. "People pry into our lives all the time. Getting the inside scoop of what the LaFayettes are into is just part of how things are." Whether it was cars, fashion, or golf clubs, the LaFayettes tended to be trendsetters. If they had something, others were desperate to get it. It came with the territory when your family members were practically like celebrities. When Wally said she could ask him some questions, Weiss wasn't sure exactly what to say. Was there anything she wanted to know about Wally? She thought for a moment before asking something. "Well, you said you were new here. Where did you live before you came to Bellerouge?" she asked. ((OOC: I love them too. ))

That was easy to not lie about. There was nothing that he needed to hide from that question. The question however was a bit difficult. Where hadn't he lived? "My mom and I lived all over really. Our most previous home was in New York, but we weren't there for very long." he frowned, thinking about it. Was this whole crime thing the reason why his mom had been so nervous? Or the people he had met before hand? "My mom was very uneasy about living in specific places so we were constantly moving."

New York? That was a long distance from here. This far south, New York might as well be on the other side of the world. Although Weiss wondered what Wally's mom was so uneasy about. Was she an Other that had faced prejudice or something? Some people had, and that was why they came to Bellerouge. There were other creatures like them. Of course, that didn't stop people like Frollo from criticizing them anyway. Weiss was kind of glad the guy was gone. In any case, him being gone gave Elsa one less thing to stress about. "So you're a big city boy who's come on down south?" she teased. Sure, Wally hadn't stayed in New York for very long, and he had been all over, but she couldn't resist making a joke.

Wally nodded but couldn't help but laugh. "I had the same reaction to that actually. I almost didn't really believe it when we first came, especially how different it was compared to the big city." He had gotten used to it now, but the first few nights, were not easy. He was constantly on edge and unsure but not wanting to upset her anymore than it had. "This place has a certain...charm to it."

"Yeah, it does," Weiss agreed. Despite how rough her life had been, she didn't really want to be anywhere else. She wouldn't really know what to do. Bellerouge had its dangers, but it was also familiar. She didn't feel too out of place for being a witch doctor. Of course, her money and last name sometimes made her feel out of place, but every rich kid probably experienced that at some point, no matter where they lived. Witch doctors could have bad reputations in some places, and she may not be so welcome everywhere she went. "New Orleans is pretty cool too. It's sometimes the one place people can got outside the city and still blend in." New Orleans didn't have quite as many Others as Bellerouge did, but it still had a good chunk. Besides, New Orleans was practically voodoo central, so Weiss had been there many times growing up.

Wally certainly felt that way the moment he had come here. Everyone seemed to be much more friendly than in the big cities. Everyone else had places to be back then and didn't care about other people's business. But here in Bellerouge, it seemed like others wanted to help each other, even if some of those people didn't want the help from Others. "It already feels like home to be honest." he said, "New York was nice but it always felt like people were trying to fit in with the cool crowd."

Weiss gave a little nod. New York certainly had a reputation for that. But, in a way, her family was the same. They were always on the hunt for the latest trends and fashions. Wardrobes were constantly changing, the latest cars were always rolling in, and any T.V.'s in the house had to be the biggest and the best. Weiss had gone along with that for the longest time, but lately, she didn't find it as interesting as she used to. Why focus on things like the latest dresses or shoes when she had bigger things to worry about? Her voodoo studies were her priority now, particularly when it came to her shadow spirits. "Well, it's good to see you're adjusting," she said. "Some people are a little shocked when the first get here if they don't know about our city's history." Some people just found it surprising that so many Others were in one place. But that was what made Bellerouge special.

Wally nodded, he had been completely shocked actually upon coming here, every day he was learning more and more. Today, proved that much. Considering that he got to learn about Weiss and her family's history. His green eyes met hers. "I take it there is more to this city than meets the eye? I mean considering there are demons around. There must be many secrets that this city is hiding."

"I guess you could say that," Weiss said with a shrug. "Some of the places here look safe, but are actually dangerous, and vice versa. Same with the people." Weiss was used to the people around her hiding their true intentions. It was just part of the game that people in her social status played. They acted nice, then when your guard was down, they got to what they really wanted, which was usually something like money or influence. That was Weiss's problem with boys that wanted to go out with her. Most of them liked her money more than her, and eventually, she had grown jaded towards the idea of romance. Besides, it wasn't like she had any good role models of it around her. Her parents' marriage had been one of convenience, and because their families approved of their union, and look how well that turned out.

Wally could see that. Every city or town had those types of areas. People were always going to be fishy at some points. Here in Bellarogue though, he seriously doubted that the people here were far more dangerous and sketchy. "That sounds tough, I may not be from a family like yours but it sounds like living under the lime-light can not be easy." He couldn't help but be angry at people who couldn't just leave people like Weiss alone. Her family's business was their business not the whole world's. He may have liked to be on the newspaper but he wouldn't want to constantly be under reporters noses.

Weiss was actually surprised Wally thought that way. Most of the time, when people heard about the life she had, they were envious. To any outsider, her life did seem perfect. She had a big house, lots of money, and she could ask for anything she wanted and get it. Of course, they didn't know about everything that went on behind closed doors, how lonely her life could be, how her parents expected perfection out of her and punished her anytime she stepped out of line. They were so bad, her brother had left. "Seems like you're the only one who thinks that," she said. "Most people would kill for a life like mine." She gave a wry chuckle. "Some of the gangsters around here probably have." The Elementals came to mind, a gang made up entirely of people who controlled any of the classic four elements: air, water, earth, and fire. Rumor had it that they were pretty well off, because the leader Cinder would do anything that would better her "family." There was no telling what awful things she had done to acquire the wealth and privilege she had.
