Yang just smiled back, although she was wondering if she was taking things too far. Was she being a little too flirty? Then again, Adrien flirted with her all the time, and he usually didn't mean it. Or he did it just to try and make her smile. And usually, it worked. "Man, classy restaurants are seriously like that?" she asked as she got out of the car. "I thought that was just a thing that happened on T.V." Despite managing to get around while she had been on the streets, fancy upper-class stuff had been off limits. Yang hadn't been bold enough to try and, say, crash a party in the upper-class neighborhood, or steal a millionaire's car. The most she had done was pick their pockets every once in a while. Regardless, whenever five-star restaurants were shown on T.V., the portions were usually small, they cost a ton, and half of the names were unpronounceable. Yang didn't know how anyone could order what wine they wanted. All the names usually didn't sound the way they were written.

"Sometimes, depends on where you go. It's mostly the high end French and Italian places." he said.
He took her inside. Once they were at the host stand, he dropped her name, not his. He gave her a slight glance. He hoped she hadn't minded that. There would just be a lot of gossip and chatter if anyone knew he made the reservation in his name. It was a sure fire way to get every magazine in the city at that restaurant. He wanted to take her hand again, but wondered if that was too bold. Instead, placed a hand on the small of her back and guided her through the restaurant as they were being escorted to their table. A room had been set up in the back of the restaurant, where all of the tables were empty. He walked, like he was meant to be there and kept his gaze straight a head until they were at their table. He pulled the chair out for her.
"Princess," he said gently.

Yang was surprised that Adrien had made the reservation under her name, but then again, he couldn't exactly drop his name here. Reporters and photographers would have been waiting for them the moment they arrived if he had. Yang tried not to feel self-conscious as she and Adrien made their way to the back of the restaurant, where there was a private room for them both, but she still couldn't help but feel like everyone was looking at her. Or were they looking at Adrien? Did any of them recognize him? Her mind was close to blowing into full panic mode and she had to remind herself to take a deep breath. This wasn't any different from the few times she had gone out before. She had to stop worrying so much. Of course, half of her anxiety was from her wanting this to go well. She was paranoid that she would do something that would screw this up, and she didn't want to ruin this for Adrien. She sat down as he pulled out her chair for her. She felt better once she was off her feet, but her anxiety was still simmering, causing her to glance in the direction of everyone else every once in a while.

Yang had been tense at his side from the moment they stepped inside. He made sure the waiter shut the door to the room behind them. So that it was just the two of them. Alone. Without a crowd. The noise was blocked out at least. He took a seat right across from her. He wondered if he shouldn't have just brought lunch to her. Or taken her somewhere secluded and had food waiting. Maybe next time, if there was a next time. It might have been too much too fast for her. As far as she knew, people came to her, not her going to a crowd of people.
"You did great," he reassured her.
He reached across the table, scooped up her hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. She had done something she wasn't comfortable with, all for the sake of humoring him for a date.

Yang sighed. "A stupid crowd shouldn't make me so nerve-wracked though," she muttered. Normal people didn't act that way. She did okay when everyone in the room was a friend, like at Sunshine's party, but when she was surrounded by strangers, her paranoia kicked up a notch. She couldn't help but imagine the worst possible scenarios, like one of them suddenly attacking her, or someone actually turning out to be Thrax or Cinder in disguise. Still, having Adrien's hand around hers did feel nice and it helped her relax a little. She had to remember that he wouldn't let anything bad happen to her. And she wasn't completely defenseless. She could still let out a burst of flames if she wanted to, although her fire/combat skills had suffered a set back since losing her arm. Channeling fire through her right arm was impossible for her now. It felt like without her hand, there was roadblock there that her powers couldn't get past. She'd heard stories about some amputees that overcame stuff like that, and how one woman managed to still use her water powers with both arms missing, but who knew if she would ever get to that point.

"I get nervous too." he said.
He was afraid for certain reasons, obviously different reasons from her. He wasn't scared of being attacked, only mobbed by fans. He didn't want his fans to go crazy over him in front of Yang, because one, that was unappealing and two, they would turn on her quickly. She didn't need that drama. He just wanted to help her ease back into things. Small steps to reestablish that confidence of hers that made her so radiant. Granted, he thought she was still pretty no matter what state she was in.
"If you want to leave, just say the word and we're gone." he said. "You get uncomfortable and we can go home."

"No. I mean, we're already here. I don't wanna just leave..." Yang's voice trailed off. Abandoning this now seemed like a cowardly thing to do. And Adrien had seemed so excited for this. And he had gone all out too, what with the flowers and the car and the private room. She hated for all that to go to waste. She let out a breath before giving a smile. "It'll be fine. I'll feel better once I get some food in me." No sooner had she said that when their waiter arrived, with two menus in two, introducing himself and listing off all the specials and deals going on that day. If he was surprised at her lack of a right arm, he didn't show it. Maybe that was just a thing people at his job did. Pointing out stuff like that wouldn't be very great for customer service. When asked what she wanted to drink, Yang replied with "Oh, um, some cola is fine."

"We're going at your pace," Adrien said. "The food will still be just as good if we take it back to your place."
But she seemed to dive right in, getting herself a drink as the menu was explained to them. He did the same. He wasn't paying particular attention to the waiter or really what drink he ordered. It wasn't alcohol. He couldn't drink and drive. Yang couldn't drink at all either. She was too young to drink. But he ordered a soda, just like her. Had to blow his diet if he was going to do this right. Maybe she would think it was funny.
"So... those oreo things for desert then? At least we have one thing planned." he teased.

Adrien was pretty adamant that they could bail if Yang wanted, but when she decided to stay, he didn't press the matter. She wasn't sure if he thought she was being stubborn or trying to take on more than she could chew, but regardless, he kept his thoughts to himself. Heck, he was already looking at the dessert menu and pointing out some deep-fried oreos. Yang was actually surprised a place like this had those. Fried oreos were more like carnival food than anything else. Then again, there had to be a first for everything, right? She laughed a little as she said "Looking at the dessert menu already? We haven't even ordered lunch yet." Still, they did look good, and would be a nice way for Adrien to end his day of blowing his diet.

"If I'm going to cheat my diet, I'm going to cheat bad," he laughed. "Loaded baked potato and something greasy."
Ironic that he was the one who had to 'watch his figure'. But between his extracurricular activities (namely Chat Noir stuff) and all of the things his father had him doing to keep active and in shape, Adrien was squared away. If anything, he could use something starchy to keep him from wasting away entirely. But if Yang wanted to order nothing but desert, that was okay in his book. If she only ordered hot wings that was okay too. If she ordered one of everything, he would probably just laugh.
"Get whatever you want. But if you get a salad, I might judge you a little."

"Salad's never been enough for me as a main course," Yang said as she looked over the menu. "Not very filling." Sure, it might be decent as a side or an appetizer, but living off vegetables alone wasn't something Yang was about to try. She remember her kids never liking salad much either. They'd only eat it if they got to have ice cream for dessert or something. It was usually the only way Yang could get them to eat some kind of vegetable. Once the waiter returned with their drinks and asked what they'd like to order, Yang had an idea of what she wanted. "Can I get this chicken sandwich thing? With fries?" That sounded like something she could handle with one hand. Finger food was usually her best friend nowadays.

"Me neither." he agreed.
He was glad to hear her say so. Granted, Yang hadn't been one to push vegetables on the kids, she certainly hadn't forced herself to have them. She was still healthy despite her former living conditions and lack of a limb. So someone had made sure she got her greens. He still couldn't help but smile. He hadn't honestly expected to get this far with her. Never in a million years did he imagine being on a date with her. So he was lucky. He just had to show her that despite how bad things seemed now, they could still be good.
"And I'll have the philly cheese steak with chili cheese fries." he said.
He handed the waiter he menu. Their drinks were set down in front of them and they were left alone once more. Adrien glanced around before removing his shades. He felt so stupid wearing them inside, but when his face was plastered over every magazine and billboard, he had to be more careful.

Yang sipped her soda as she saw Adrien remove his sunglasses. He seemed anxious while doing so, and who wouldn't blame him? His face was pretty recognizable after all, especially when his dad liked plastering it in magazines every so often. She glanced back at the other restaurant patrons. None of them seemed to be looking their way. They were either talking, or calling someone, or texting. Just normal every-day things. It almost seemed mundane, compared to the stuff Yang and Adrien had gone through. Heck, it even seemed to be emphasized with the way the room separated the two of them from everybody else. It was like they weren't part of the normal crowd anymore. They were something different. And Yang wasn't sure how to feel about that.

Adrien shifted a little in his seat. He wasn't sure what he should say or do. Yang looked a little uncomfortable. He took a deep breath. What they needed were lighthearted topics that wouldn't make her focus on the bad things. Like her injury. Which was hard because most things looped back to her injury. Right. Adrien really didn't find himself that entirely interesting. He thought Yang was interesting. Actually he thought she was the most fascinating thing in the world but she would get tired of telling him about herself before he got tired of listening. She was struggling to cope. The kids were okay. She had friends come and visit her.
"There's apparently a new masked guy running around the city." he said. "Calls himself Kid Flash. The guy might even be faster than Shadow."

Yang hadn't even realized how quiet things were until Adrien spoke. It looked like she had gotten lost in her thoughts again. It seemed to be happening a lot more often than usual, lately. Most would agree she had a lot on her mind, but Yang didn't like how spaced out she could get. It made conversations awkward. Adrien brought up how there was apparently another masked guy running around the city. And he was pretty fast. That caught Yang's interest. As far as she knew, Shadow was the fastest guy around. Anyone who could match his speed, or even surpassed it, sounded interesting. "Is he another Robin Hood-esque sort of guy?" she asked. If he was, he and Adrien might be able to do some good work together. Or, maybe Adrien viewed him as competition. She wasn't sure.
