If Adrien noticed anything about Yang's silence, he didn't mention it. Buildings and people sped by them as he drove down the road. However, his comment about installing a sprinkler system did make her laugh a little. That would be a practical way of keeping away any unwanted visitors. It wasn't like she could shoot flames at them. Anything that wasn't close to the river would catch fire in a heartbeat. That was one of the cons of living a little farther out from the city. There was so much plant life. Out on the streets, everything was made of either brick, concrete, or some other kind of sturdy stuff. No chance of anything catching fire there. "Shadow might enjoy watching that. He hates unwanted reporters as much as I do." It wasn't that Shadow hated the press itself. Some publicity could be good if it meant a criminal could be caught sooner. But any reporters that tossed morals out the window in order to get a good story weren't big fans in his book. And Yang was starting to understand why it got on his nerves so much.

"Then we'll get you a sprinkler system," he laughed. "Won't be too hard."
Of all the things Adrien's wealth could do, getting a sprinkler system installed was nothing. Plus, if it would make Yang laugh like she did, it would be worth it. He hadn't meant to drag her into the mess with fame and wealth and all of that. Yet he had. He smiled weakly as he pulled into her driveway. There were luckily no reporters there. Either they didn't know where Yang lived, which was a possibility because Riku technically bought the house for her, or police involvement was keeping them away. Either way he was glad.

Adrien reached Yang's house all too soon, and part of her didn't want to get out of the car. Adrien had pulled her out of an episode. That had to mean something. And being with him felt so nice, even if her feelings for him were a little confusing now. Still, she did need some time to think things over. Maybe call up a friend and see what they had to say. She'd never really talked about her love life before, except with Jane, but some outside help might be needed for a situation like this. And Yang's past romantic endeavors had always been short flings, nothing serious like this. Hanging out with Adrien with neither of them really talking about how they felt, that couldn't last forever. Something had to be done, although she had no idea what. She just needed some time to process things, and figure out where to go from here. "Um...thanks for everything, and stuff," she said, feeling awkward with her words for a moment. She just hoped Adrien knew she wasn't just thanking him for the lunch date, because he had done so much more than that. Then, before her courage could leave her, she leaned over and softly kissed his cheek. She hurriedly got out of the car after that, hoping her face wasn't too red, and went inside with her heart still beating fast.

He parked in her driveway and turned to look at her. He felt immensely guilty for what happened to her, like he was responsible for bringing in the reporters. They wouldn't have been there if it weren't for him. Now he was going to have to protect her from them the best he could, which meant calling in a lot of favors. He smiled wearily nevertheless, even as his mind ran through all the things he could do to help shield her until he could get things square away with the media. And his father. His father would be an entirely different beast to tackle however. But when Yang thanked him, it all felt worth it, up until she kissed him on the cheek. He felt like his brain might have fizzled out after that.
"Uh, yeah, stuff," he stammered out. "Bye?"
She had dashed inside before he could say more, but he was kicking himself. For all his flirting, his brain turned to putty when she kissed him.
