With inheriting the company, Adrien had to go through the mounds and mounds of paperwork that came with it. He had to sign to have Natalie become his assistant (with a pay raise) He hoped that she could help him run the company while he got the hang of things. He was eternally grateful she had agreed to that. He had to sign to keep Tom as his bodyguard, though he would likely need to hire another. He had to sign to keep the kitchen staff, the landscapers and the other housekeeping staff. He poured over so much paperwork he thought his brain was going to melt. Just as he was about to call it a day, he caught sight of something that gave him pause.
His mother’s will.
He didn’t even know his mother had a will.
His curiosity peaked, he wearily poured over it, like had with the last six dozen documents. Just the usual bit about life insurance – that alone covered the cost of funerals and medical expenses his father had but he never did find out what happened to his mother. She was just… gone one day. He wasn’t truly paying attention until it got to beneficiaries. His father. Naturally. Him. Obviously. But there was another name – a name he didn’t recognize and it sent chills down his spine. Namine Goodall. Daughter? But he was the only Agreste child, wasn’t he? He ran a hand over his mouth, inhaling slowly. What did this mean? His mother… had another child? He had a sibling out there somewhere that he had never met before. Did he want to? What if they knew what happened to his mother? What if she was alive and with them instead? Had… his mother abandoned Adrien and his father? It brought forth so many questions. Unfortunately, his alarm on his phone started to go off, to remind him of his date with Yang.
She was coming over to 'test' his new theater room. He had it installed why they were away on vacation. They planned to hit it hard with popcorn and takeout pizza, which was going to be delivered. He could have joked that he would have it there from Italy but he was pretty sure she would have punched him, so a local place was catering. The driver alone would probably faint from the thought of delivering pizza to the Agreste residence. It would make the papers anyways as Adrien intended to tip handsomely. Smoothing a hand through his hair he left his office and headed downstairs, to be ready when Yang arrived.

Yang had been hitting her training pretty hard over the last couple of weeks, whether it was fighting practice or learning the ins and outs of the laws of the city. When Adrien asked if she wanted to come over for a cushy movie night though, she'd felt pretty excited. Besides, her friends were always saying that she shouldn't push herself beyond her limits. It'd be nice to take a break from all the training and just relax for a bit. Although she had to admit, the more she trained, the more used she got to her new arm. It was starting to feel more and more natural by the day. Sure, it could still attract attention like her lack of an arm used to, but she didn't mind so much anymore. Most of the attention she got anyway was from little kids who were just curious. They'd always ask tons of questions, like whether it was indestructible or whether it could shoot missiles. Another thing that wasn't so awkward anymore was Adrien's place. She remembered how big and grand the mansion had seemed when she had first seen it, and how it had made her feel a little small. But, it was practically becoming a second home to her. Now that Adrien was in charge of the place, he could finally give it the warm and inviting aura it had been missing when his dad was around. So, it was with confidence and a smile on her face that she headed up to the front door and rang the bell.

Adrien put on his best smile and went to answer the door. It was a relief to see Yang. She made things better, just by being herself. Her presence alone was a soothing thing. Seeing here there, smiling and happy was a great feeling. She was even wearing the new arm that he had built for her. He wanted to laugh at how easily she made him want to melt into a puddle goo. It pushed this new news out of his mind, at least for now since he was too busy smiling like an idiot to do anything else, but he quickly remembered himself and opened the door wider so she could come in.
"Hey, it's good to see you!" he said.

"Good to see you too," Yang said, her grin widening. Seeing Adrien always put her in a good mood. Sure, his face was always plastered in magazines and what-not, but seeing him face-to-face was so much better. There hadn't exactly been many photo shoots with him since his father had died, so most of the time, any magazine talking about him mentioned any new decisions he had made with the company. Yang wasn't sure if that was better or worse, but at least she didn't have to worry about any pictures with female models. Granted, the idea didn't bother her as much as it used to since she had gotten her confidence back, but still. She wasn't afraid to step in if they, or any other fan girls, tried anything. Most had been cool with her and Adrien getting together, but there were always the rabid ones who didn't quite see it that way. Luckily, they seemed to be more active on the Internet, preferring to leave trolling comments rather than do anything to her face. Still, anyone's disapproval didn't put a damper on Yang's spirits too often. Her friends knew Adrien would treat her well. That was all she really cared about. "How are you doing?" she asked as she leaned in to kiss him on the cheek.

"I, uh, just paperwork. Boring stuff." he dismissed. "My parent's wills, you know?"
He sheepishly scratched the back of his head. Once Yang was inside, he shut the door behind her. She kissed his cheek which brought a smile to his face but he leaned in to hug her. Despite it not being long since they last saw each other, he had missed her. It took a weight off his shoulders to see her again, mostly because Yang grounded him when he lost all other support systems that he had come to know and rely on. His father was gone. Natalie and Tom were two of the only regular faces he had in his life, he supposed he had Shadow and Sunshine too, but they didn't come to visit him like Yang did.

"Oh. I see." Going through his parents' wills must be depressing, even a little bit. Maybe Adrien still had mixed feelings about his dad, but Yang knew he had loved his mother a lot. Her disappearance had hit him harder, mostly because of the unknown factors that were still there. At least he knew that Mr. Agreste was for sure dead. Mrs. Agreste could be dead or alive, and who knew if the questions surrounding her disappearance would ever be solved. Adrien seemed to brush the matter aside, declaring it as boring, but Yang wasn't sure if that was what he was really feeling. "Was it sad at all?" she asked, looking up at him.

"I'm not sure how I feel." Adrien said. "Mom's will... She... This sounds insane."
He took a deep breath. Yang would understand. She tended to roll with the punches. She had stuck around after everything that happened to him. Even when his father died, she stayed. She stayed despite the fact he had a tendency to dress in leather and steal from the rich to give to the poor. Granted, she punched him for that one, but he kind of deserved it. And with Yang, he wanted to be honest about these sorts of things. Even if it was distracting from their 'relaxing night' together.
"Mom, had - has another child listed in her will."

Yang blinked. Out of all the things she suspected that might be bothering Adrien, this hadn't been one of them. "Whoa, seriously?" she asked. "With who? I mean, it was with another guy right?" She figured that was the best explanation, unless Adrien's parents had had a kid and decided to ditch it somewhere. But would they really do that? The half-sibling theory seemed the most likely. Yang was just surprised that Adrien's mom had kept it a secret this whole time. No doubt she'd taken all the necessary precautions. Who knew what Mr. Agreste might have done if he had found out. Yang just wondered how Adrien felt about it all. He still seemed more surprised about the whole thing than anything else. Would be angry at his mom over this, or his half-sibling? Finding out you weren't an only child was bound to be a shock.

"She had a whole family I didn't know about." he said. "Her name is Namine. I have a sister."
His mind was racing with everything that was happening. At the same time, he wanted to forget it all and focus on his time with Yang. They were both going to get busy. Her with her studies to become a police officer and him with running a company. He wanted to make the most of all the time he had off, unlike his father. This half-sibling thing just threw a wrench in those plans. Adrien was an only child with a father who was never there. He had no idea how to interact with family. What if she didn't like him?
"I didn't mean to bring up more family drama," he sighed. "This... just sort of happens."

"No, no, it's fine," Yang said, gently taking Adrien's hand. "I want you to talk if things are bothering you. I want to help." The last thing she wanted was for Adrien to feel like he had to bottle things up around her. She'd just talked with Aqua about how honesty was the best policy, and how it applied to every relationship in her life. Yang felt like it definitely applied here. If Adrien had something on his mind, she wanted to be someone he could talk to about it. However, the name he mentioned rang a bell in Yang's mind. "Namine...I know her. She's a sketch artist sometimes, for the Others Unit." Granted, she'd only spoken with Namine a few times, but she'd heard a lot about her from Omar and Jane. Apparently, she was finally bouncing back from what Vanitas had done to her ages ago, which made Yang glad. She knew better than anyone how hard it was to overcome something like that.

"So much for a nice night in just you and me." he laughed mirthlessly.
And the media said that Adrien's family was a boring typical one. No one could have expected this! Not even Adrien himself. He wasn't sure what he was going to do with this. Should he meet her? Should he talk to her? What if she didn't like him? What if she didn't want anything to do with him? Did he want to meet her? The questions rattled around in his head.
"Let's talk more after the food gets here?" he suggested. "I'm getting a headache thinking of it all. Here I thought the media was the worst of my problems!"

"Are you sure?" Yang asked. She knew avoiding a stressful topic over time just made it worse. But, if Adrien just wanted to take a break from it for a little bit and relax, that was fine by her. She knew her time with her usually meant not worrying about work or papers or anything like that, and she didn't want to burden his night off with everything he was worrying about. Everyone needed a break every once in a while. Heck, this night could be considered a break for Yang too, from all the police training she was doing. She just wanted Adrien to be happy, and she'd be cool with whatever he wanted to do.

"I don't even know the first thing about her except her name," Adrien said. "I've gone this long without knowing her but I could... Do you think she would want to meet me?"
He took Yang into another room so they didn't have to stand by the doorway to talk about this. They went to the media room he had set up. HE took a seat in one of the cushy chairs. His head was throbbing. He felt like he was being a terrible host to his girlfriend. She had stumbled upon him having more family drama. His own family hang ups were making it so he was hesitant to jump into this fully. He had Yang by his side for sure. Shadow and Sunshine were friends he could trust. But a sister was something that he didn't know what to do with.

"Of course she would," Yang replied. "She's kind of shy at first, but she's really nice once she opens up. And I think being surprised by all of this will be something both of you have in common." Yang didn't know all the details about Namine's life, only that her childhood hadn't been the happiest. But Omar had said she was starting to find her way and was finding a new family in the people around her. Maybe meeting someone that was actually related to her would help build her sense of family even more. She sat down next to Adrien as she continued. "I know Aqua's her roommate, and Omar's really close to her. Either of them could probably help you out like this." Since they knew Namine best, they could probably help Adrien figure out the best way to break the news to her. Yang's experience in family reunions was limited. The closest thing she'd done was bring Jane and Omar together, and she hadn't even known they were related at the time.

"We'll make a detective of you yet," he chuckled. "Not even an officer yet and solving cases."
He appreciated Yang's help. Her insight on Namine gave him a few more things to ponder. Like how to have either Aqua or Omar introduce him to Namine. Or maybe he would meet her in a public event, get to know her, slowly get closer? He didn't want to drop any bombs on her. The whole "Namine I'm your brother" might have been rather intimidating to drop on her. But he didn't know if Omar or Aqua would help him. He only had a will as proof. He needed something more concrete. Like a blood match? Or a partial match since they had different fathers...
"Thanks Yang... I really appreciate all of this."
