At Sunshine's question, Yang glanced back at Elsa. The woman she's always known to be cool and confident was suddenly blushing and tripping over her words. It suddenly clicked in Yang's head that Elsa actually liked Ralph. Like, really liked him. And Sunshine pretty much said the same. Aqua seemed a bit amused by the whole situation, although her fatigue still showed. "Huh. Never figured Ralph to be the romantic type," she said. Sure, he was nice and stuff, but it was kind of hard for her to picture him being romantically involved with someone. It was like trying to imagine Pitch getting a girlfriend or something. Still, Elsa seemed to like him a lot, and if Ralph felt the same, and they were happy, then Yang was all for it.

"It's...rooted pretty deep, but's in there," Elsa murmured. She swiped at a strand of platinum blonde hair that was drifting out of his styled braid, It was a...complex history between her and him. She didn't have a lot of girlfriends to talk about, or heck, even friends for that matter. The female cops would be the firs few to really know the whole story. Weiss had known a few snippets, but, well, the lawyer was trying not to think about the aspiring voodoo girl. A semi-smile crossed her face and she laughed quietly. "We used to date before..." the laugh quickly became sad, "but then it went sour and Ralph did something that made me think I would be afraid of him."
"What did he do that was so bad?" Sunshine asked. Ralph had seemed like a genuinely nice guy. Sure, he was big and big things could result in accidents, and that was all she could really think of. Maybe there was some insecurity kind of how she felt about dating Riku, the sort of "peasant and royalty" thing. Elsa was a queen, sort of...
Elsa sighed. "Someone got him mad. He let his temper get the best of him, we'll leave it at that. And I admit I was scared then, but I never...well, you know."
"So you guys took a break, so to speak," Sunshine asked. A looked fired in her direction from the lawyer shut her up with a spoonful of food and she proceeded to chew, shutting herself up so Elsa could continue her story.
"We met up again in Garcon Perdu after that break. He saved me from getting mugged, and then we just kept...bumping into another. I finally asked him for a second chance date, and this time...it...it got us back on the track I wanted it to be. I didn't like the whole 'nothing but bickering'."

"I - "
Her automatic response was to offer advice. Say something along the lines of taking things easy and building trust but then that would be rather hypocritical of her, wouldn't it? Especially after she couldn't trust Terra or after how she couldn't trust Riku. She instead, took a sip of tea. It was bitter. She winced at the taste of it. Certainly not something she would be keeping for herself. Yes, just like coffee indeed. Terra would have loved it. Probably not even have noticed a difference between it and real coffee.
"I'm glad you made the most of it."
It seemed like the right thing to say. Elsa seemed happy, despite the rocky start to things. A second chance had done wonders for the two of them apparently. Aqua was happy for them. She was happy for Sunshine and Riku too. Happy that Yang was overcoming her own self doubts and personal problems and turning over a new leaf as an officer. She hated herself for it but she was jealous of them. Everything was going just right. This envy was awful.

Yang had to smile. Elsa's story of her and Ralph coming together was kind of charming. A rocky start, a long break between them, and then a second chance of getting things right. In a way, it reminded her of her relationship with Adrien. They'd hit a rough patch, and then he'd left her, thinking it would make her safer. Then, after she'd lost her arm, they'd come together again, and there had been no turning back after that. There had been a connection there that neither of them could ignore, and it just grew and grew until it finally blossomed. It seemed like her, Elsa, and Sunshine had been lucky when it came to the romantic department. Aqua, not so much. Her blue-haired friend spoke quietly, although Yang couldn't tell if it was because she was tired or she was just thinking. Yang knew that losing Terra had did a number on her. But that didn't have to mean there would be no romance ever in her future, right? Elsa and Ralph had gotten a second chance. Surely, Aqua deserved a second chance of finding someone special. "So, think you'll be joining the 'boyfriend club' soon Aqua?" she asked, trying to sound light and casual.

Sunshine's mischievous eyes darted over to Aqua. Only three out of the four girls in the room were presently in a relationship. Yet she had been there at the charity concert when Omar LaRue had done one of the boldest things any guy who had it bad for a girl could be. She had made pastries with cute proposals to some clients who flattered women with their "creativity". What Omar did had taken the cake on ways to ask a girl out. "Well...I know Omar made her an offer that literally almost all of Bellerouge heard..." She decided to leave it off at that and let Aqua tell her side of the story. Sunshine was just beginning to know Omar, but from what she knew of the troll musician, he had a good heart beneath the gruff exterior...not unlike her partner. It would explain why they were friends.

Aqua felt herself go red in the face - as flushed as Elsa had been when everyone was 'picking on' her love life. Yang's question was a loaded one at best. One that Aqua had been trying to avoid if at all possible. But humans were always so direct. Things had been good before Omar decided to try to change things. She would have been... well, she supposed she wouldn't have been happy because she hadn't been since Terra's funeral or hurting Riku, but it would have been a continued existence that she knew and could cope with. Now things were different. If she were honest, she was afraid to open herself up. She had already been through so much hurt in her short life span though as an semi-immortal, she was bound to go through even more.
Omar's request for something more could turn out one of two ways, more hurt or something good. However, that being said, Aqua was not the gambling sort. She didn't like making risky moves and rash decisions because she could end up with another situation like what happened with Riku. She was tired of hurting all the time so she had decided it was probably for the best if she let Omar down gently and try to move on with things. She wanted... She didn't know what she wanted. That was the worst part. She was clearly conflicted about what happened. A part of her wanted to say yes. Omar was sweet and kind, he would never hurt her intentionally and loving him would be as easy as breathing. But she had thought the same about Terra once.
"I - It wouldn't work out." Aqua tried to say diplomatically. "I mean... I arrested him before! And he hates cops. Not to mention I just buried Terra... And Omar has a daughter and he's adopting Namine!"
Excuses. Though she was protesting her stance a little too much if she thought about it. However, her brain seemed to turn to pudding with the lack of sleep and being put on the spot. But these were things she had to consider before giving her heart over. He did hate cops, though he was starting to see not all cops were bad. She had buried Terra not even a few months ago. How soon was too soon to move on past something like that? Then there was the fact Omar was ages older than her and he had kids - some of whom were her age. Granted, they were both going to live for a very long time so she supposed the 'age' difference wasn't that big of a deal but...
"Omar says that faeries in the courts look down on trolls." she added.

"Wait, really?" Yang glanced at Aqua. She knew her and Omar had been becoming better acquainted with each other, considering that when they had first met, it had ended up with Aqua arresting him. But getting romantically involved? This was the first time she'd heard of it. She hadn't even been aware that Omar liked her like that. She remembered him being sad for so long about Cindy's death. Maybe he was ready to move on. Aqua, however, seemed to be a bit more hesitant about it. She had a lot of reasons why it wouldn't work: their first meeting had been rocky, he had a kid and was bringing Namine into the family, and trolls and faeries had a history of not liking each other. But, if Yang knew one thing, it was having a lot of obstacles when getting involved with love. "Almost sounds like me and Adrien," she said as she tossed her hair back. "I nearly lit him on fire when we first met. And his dad wasn't entirely fond of me, even though I'd never really met him face-to-face." She looked back at Aqua. "Omar's loved and lost before. But I think if he's fallen for you and wants to give a relationship a shot, why not go for it? You could probably set the pace." That was what Adrien had done for Yang, even before they'd really gotten together. She'd had a lot of mental baggage to deal with and had wanted things to go slow, and Adrien was all for it if it meant her being happy. She was sure Omar would do the same.

"Terra wouldn't want you being afraid of starting over," Elsa pointed out. With her point came a hint of sympathy. But Aqua had been through enough heartache and sadness as it was. Well, her source was a blonde baker who worked as a cop, but she had gathered enough information to know Aqua was up to her neck in feelings of guilt. Everyone needed happiness in their life. Those who had been to heck and back probably needed it the most. Besides, all the love stories were sounding eerily similar with the couples beginning with rockiness.
"I tuned Riku into a rabbit and thought my hair was the cause," Sunshine pointed out with a snort giggle. "It was just a demon's vengeful planting." Now it was her turn to start blushing. "I had always liked him but I was always too...cowardly to approach him until that day." Then they had become temporary partners due to the whole drama with Aqua and Shadow being manipulated by Disparion. Next thing she knew, the curse had been lifted and he kissed her, and well, now...she brought a hand over her favorite necklace, the moon and sun branded together.
"Besides, your family history, according to your files, is beyond worrying about the rules of the traditional faery laws," Elsa was fixing up her a plate. "So what if he's a troll?"

Aqua hurt. The ache pierced her fragile heart and squeezed it until it shattered. Like glass broken so many times it was impossible to repair. Falling for Omar terrified her to the core. It shook her so deeply that she was second guessing every step she took. She could chase criminals across town, prepare to snipe demons who took hostages, wade through waist deep bayou mud and fight through fires without a second thought but matters of the heart sent her running.
"I don't know why he could see something more in me," she sighed, "He was the one who said faeries treated trolls poorly."
Species had never been an issue for her, but she didn’t know if her being a faery did bother him. She could look as human as she wanted, but at the end of the day, she wasn’t, no matter how sometimes she wanted to be. Besides, she had fallen for Terra after all. He had been human. It would have eventually been a problem between the two of them. He would have aged. She would not. It opened a whole knew can of worms if she and Terra had started a family. However, their love had been sweet and innocent. They had been caught up in feelings of bliss and happiness that they hadn’t stopped to consider the long term – just that being together made them happy.
"I... I don't know anymore." she said.
All three women brought up good points. None of their relationships had an ideal start. Elsa and Ralph almost called it quits entirely before their relationship really got started. Yang nearly burned Adrien apparently (something the media would have eaten up if they knew). Sunshine thought she was the one who messed up a simple healing spell. Aqua didn't think she deserved a second chance at love or happiness, not when she had done so many awful things.

Aqua still had her doubts about a relationship with Omar, despite Yang, Elsa, and Sunshine all encouraging her to go for it. It looked like her failed relationship with Terra had hurt her more than Yang had realized. And she didn't really know what that was like. Sure, she'd felt pain when Adrien had left her, figuring that was the best way to protect her. But they'd gotten back together eventually. There was no possibility for that with Aqua and Terra. He was gone and never coming back. Yang couldn't imagine losing Adrien like that. "Look, we can't force you into this if you aren't ready," she said. "But don't let the chance slip you by. You get me? I was afraid of getting into a relationship too. Losing my arm made me feel...broken. I felt like a Barbie doll that got its arm popped off and no kid wanted it. 'Cause what kid wants to play with a doll that only has one arm? But being broken doesn't mean you're worthless. I may have been in pieces, but...Adrien loved each one anyway. And...he kind of helped me start putting those pieces back together." Her hand ran across her metal arm. "I love isn't a miracle cure, despite what all the teen dramas and fairy tales say. But if Omar likes you even when you don't like yourself, that's gotta mean something." She suddenly paused, and her face turned a little red. She hadn't meant to such a personal, preachy speech like that. It just felt like the right thing to say.

"And if you aren't ready, tell him," Sunshine chimed in. She was proud of Yang's speech of letting Aqua in on support. The fairy deserved the happiness everyone had. Sure she had been through the school of hard knocks, but she had every right to be. If Yang's story proved anything, it was coming from the worst places and having a person build you up again. But it wouldn't be fair rushing into a romance because of peer pressure. "It's better to give him an answer than no answer at all."

Aqua felt a twinge of guilt strike her again as Yang told them all exactly how the loss of her arm hurt her. She had no idea Yang felt that poorly. She wanted to help, but the last time she did that, she found herself indebted to the Seelie Queen (still indebted to her) and her partner hated her. She felt another wave of self disgust wash over her. Barely into her first century and Omar was putting himself out there more than she was. She acted as if she had been ages older, worn and spiteful of the world. He was out helping people and living life as if each day were going to be his last. No one she had met had ever seemed as alive as he was. What would her parents think of the little faery who gave up on everything? What would Terra think of the woman who spurned a second chance at love and happiness?
"You're right, I have to give him some answer..." she said slowly.
She smoothed a hand through her hair. She still couldn't believe Omar did what he did. She was still under the firm belief that his declaration had embarrassed her more than it had him. At the concert he had been so happy to see her and even happier she stayed. Her face burned and her stomach churned in a way that wasn't entirely unpleasant. But between the whirlwind of emotions she felt it was hard to say what was the cause. She was letting this fear, this darkness, seep into her heart and taint everything, even something that should be as pure as love.
"I would have after the concert but the crowds made it impossible to get through," she sighed. "And... I wasn't sure what to say. I.... I think I'll see where this goes."

Yang smiled, glad to see that Aqua was at least going to give Omar a chance. Whether she'd actually end up with him was up for debate. But if she at least tried, then that was good enough. "There we go. That's the way to do it," she said. She never thought she'd be giving Aqua advice, considering that the fairy was so much older than her. But, it looked like Yang was a bit more experienced in the romance department, and if Aqua could benefit from some of her advice, then she was willing to give it. Besides, all this focus on Aqua took some of the strain off of Weiss's case. Relaxing a bit like this would help them return to work with more energy.

"Take your time with it," Sunshine advised. "Do you know how many things in my head I had thought about asking Riku before we...you know..." She blushed at the memory of him taking the first move. He had consoled her with sushi, took her out to a cute little place, and even was the first to kiss her like in all the fairytales. He had been through rough patches and yet with all the girls in Bellerouge, he chose the scrubby 'Rapunzel' baker that could make her hair glow when she sang.
Elsa glanced over at Sunshine's blushing. "Sun...did you...ever have a boyfriend before Riku?"
Sunshine's blush died down. "...Kind of. If you count high school flings serious. His name was Jack Frost."
Elsa snickered. 'Really? That was his name?"
"Oh, and here's the funny thing. He had white hair and blue eyes! Apparently I have a type."

Aqua's face still felt warm. Was this what it was like to have female friends her own age? They'd stay up late and talk boys? She hadn't really known. Her youth had been spent in the orphanage and when she was old enough, they kicked her out after she was deemed unadoptable. However, this was nice, even if she had to talk about things she didn't really like talking about. They had all blushed and laughed throughout the conversation. Good friends, good food, good drink, despite the not so ideal circumstances of them gathering together. She was smiling brighter than she had in ages. She supposed confessing these things did make her feel lighter.
"Next you're going to be telling us he had ice powers with a name like that!"
Aqua laughed. That would be a little ironic but nevertheless funny. Aqua hadn't realized how much she needed something like this - the talking and not thinking about how terrible everything was. The advice was helpful, as was the laughter. It was a courage boost for if she found Riku she would be in a better mind frame to apologize and try to work something out with him. Piece things together once again. But one step at a time. A lot of the tasks she was going to try to tackle were going to require some form of courage on her part.
"Yang, how are you and Adrien?" she asked.
