Yang wasn't sure if that was the best solution. Shadow was content to let his feelings go unspoken. He might never approach Sunshine about them. But, forcing him to talk about it would probably be worst. Shadow's temper was still legendary, and he could get pissed off if someone tried to drag his secret out of him. Yang just hoped that something good came out of this. Love could be a messy affair, especially a situation like this. It was hard to imagine it ending on any kind of positive note. "Who knows if he'll ever say anything," she said. "He may just keep it under wraps forever."

Sunshine chewed idly on her food. Aqua and Yang we're putting in their input, but they were contemplating if he was going to confess. She typed on the computer, refreshing the page for any new emails. The inbox went white to open, White to open. Finally, a line of thick black font popped up.
"Bingo!" she cheered.
"What is it?" Elsa asked. The cheer of joy was something worth cutting through the feminine conversation.
"I got the security camera footage from the shop Shadow wanted us to talk about." Since Korra left, the cops had to look at vid footage on their own. She opened the email and clicked the vid, studying it. "Elsa, think you can turn on the big monitor?"
Elsa stepped to the monitor and pressed the button. The light went a light blue and it hummed to life. It was exhilirating doing small tasks for the police. Getting them food, helping with mechanics, and defending them from angry civilians who didn't understand.
"What should I do next? Make popcorn?" she joked.

"Find something Sun?" Aqua asked.
She had almost forgotten why they were there, as horrible as it was, but this was a much needed reprieve. They had been at this since the moment that Weiss had disappeared (or rather when her parents finally deemed that they were in over their heads and needed help). She felt guilty for letting her mind slip, but truly felt better to have gotten a few things off her chest and voiced. Aqua sat up to look to the screen that Elsa set up. She took a deep breath. This could make or break the case, the very lead they needed to find and save Weiss. There was no telling what Thrax was doing to her or what he had in store for her the longer she held out.

Yang craned her head over when the subject was changed. It looked like Sunshine had found something interesting. Was it related to the case? She sure hoped so. Dealing with someone as strong as Thrax, and with a lot of cops having a personal stake in this case, Yang knew the force wouldn't stop until she was found and Thrax was behind bars. Yang was looking forward to the day the demon was tossed inside a jail cell, and she knew she wasn't the only one. Pitch would probably be satisfied as well, given that Thrax had badly injured him by playing dirty. She glanced up at the big monitor.

"Oh yes."
The screen flickered as she changed the view from her computer. The vid footage showed a cashier talking with a figure who kept whipping the head back and forth as it he were anxious. After one more glance, he pulled out an ID. Sunshine paused the footage and zoomed in on the customer. The ID pictures looked similar, but there were a few noticeable differences. For starters, the ID picture had a subtle scarring across the nose, which was something that the buyer didn't have. At least, not until Sunshine zoomed in and pointed to it with her cursor.
"That's theatre makeup," she pointed out. "the ID this guy's using is fake. Yang," she looked at the blonde cop, "did anyone in the Elemental Gang have some kind of knowledge of it?"

Aqua too looked to Yang. Out of the officers there, she was the one who knew the Elemental Gang best. The only criminal that Aqua knew well (unfortunately) Was Vanitas. The man who stole away her partner and took years of her life to flip them upside-down. But a criminal was a criminal. It bothered her to think about the criminals could hide their faces or features. Though it wasn't out of the question. She did the same with her own appearance. Her ears, her eyes, her wings...
"It could be magic?" Aqua offered. "Or a potion?"

Yang bit her lip for a moment as she thought. Her experience with the Elemental Gang was limited. She'd only met them face-to-face once. Other than that, any info she had on them was stuff she had read in their file. But, if the Elemental Gang had a hand in Weiss's kidnapping, then that meant they were in league with Thrax. And that wouldn't bode well for anyone. There'd been hints and rumors about it ever since footage of the prison break had shown Thrax personally escorting Emerald to safety. But nobody had known if that was a one-time deal or not. Right now, it looked like it wasn't. "Knowing them, they could probably get a hold of fake ID's and stuff," she said. "Cinder's smart. She'd want to take whatever precautions she could to make sure nobody in her gang got caught. She's protective of her 'family.'" When Aqua suggested maybe magic was involved, Yang said "Possibly. What worries me the most though, is Cinder and Thrax being in this together. She's deadly and cunning, he's crazy and bold. Bring those together and we have a real problem on our hands."

"Fake IDs, huh?"
Sunshine did a few clicks to pan down to the ID held in the customer's hand. Aqua made another point that the suspect could have been using Seelie or Unseelie glamour to disguise himself. Maybe it was a combination of both makeup and glamour, the makeup being a facade to distract humans. There was no sign of a ward being worn on the customer, but there was one being worn by the shopkeeper. She would check for a reaction later. Yang' point of smart and bold, crazy and deadly...it was a recipe for disaster. She scanned the picture, which matched the face, but the information on the ID was what got her attention. "Aqua, do a run-through of the info on the ID." If the information was false, then they would have located a fake and catch Cinder's lackey/
Elsa nodded impressed. It was only been a year and half since Sunshine Seddon had come onto the force, hand selected by Shadow to be his partner. She had been so unsure and timid. Now she was leading the girls on cathcing a criminal. Watching a rookie cop grow up was the same as watching a mother see their kid go off to college.

"Yes ma'am," Aqua teased.
Sunshine had taken charge. Perhaps to avoid getting drilled by twenty questions about her relationship with Riku since everyone else had spoken of their romances. Still, Aqua did as she was told and began to test the ID against other ones in the system. The only down side, it would take time for the computer to find a match of criminals. She sit back in her chair once the program was running, flipping through multitudes of faces and criminals. So many criminals. That was the sad part. Even if they caught Cinder and her crew, there would be another criminal to take their place. Perhaps even worse than they were. That was the worst part.
"We'll have to wait for a match," she said.

Aqua started running a check on the I.D. If they were lucky, it would help lead to wherever this special anti-magic concrete was delivered, and that would lead them to Weiss. Yang didn't want to think about what the girl was probably being subjected to right now. The tape Thrax had sent had shaken her up enough, and she didn't want her imagination to run wild on all the horrible things that Thrax could be doing. She'd been working hard to not let all the "what ifs" get the better of her like they had in the past. All she could do was worry about the present. The future was out of her hands. "This better lead to something," she said, looking back up at the screen. "If Riku doesn't find anything soon..." Out of everyone, he was definitely worried about Weiss most of all. Every day without any leads put him on edge, even if he didn't always show it.

"No!" Sunshine didn't even let Yang finish the thoughts. He had hinted at dealing with the darker side of voodoo in the past, and she would refuse to let him go down those paths. Weiss was family to him, yes, but who knew what she could be up to? She shook her head. "No...we are going to find Weiss. She's smart, too. We can't just assume all our victims are weak." And from her one conversation with Weiss, Sunshine knew the girl was anything but weak.
Elsa nodded in agreement. "Weiss isn't the kind of person who would submit so easily...." But if that was the case, why did it suddenly feel awkward around her at her party? The lawyer had been glad to talk with the girl, but she couldn't shake the feeling that the voodoo priestess was hiding something. A dark secret. One that hopefully would benefit the police and not...the opposite.
The I.D. check finished running, and a bright red sign flashed. It read a description of a thug, and below were several of the petty crimes he had been seen at. One name stood out when it came to associates;
ELEMENTAL.
"There he is," Sunshine pointed. "Fake ID, and the records show traces to the Elemental Gang."

"No one is assuming she's weak." Aqua said.
But the odds weren't in her favor. Normally in kidnapping scenarios they had 48 hours before the person turned up dead. She had defied that odd, but how long would it take before Thrax got tired of her holding out on him despite whatever torment he put her through? He could get impatient and humans were fragile beings. She could just picture the younger girl in her house, the night that she got her and Riku back together or at least talking. Tears had been shed, there had been a few smiles...
With magic, Thrax could break every bone in her body and piece her back together like a little puppet. The thought made her stomach sink. Magic could prolong the torture. She didn't want to think about it anymore than Sunshine did, but they had to face the facts, even if they did save her before she gave into Thrax, she was going to need a lot of help to get over whatever he had done to her. She tried to push the thought away, but it was still there in the back of her mind.
"Should we send the boys out to round him up?" she asked.

Yang jumped slightly. Sunshine seemed even more determined not to think the worst even more than she was. Maybe because she knew better than anyone how this was tearing Riku up inside. Yang would probably feel the same if someone she loved was at the mercy of Thrax like this. She and Elsa agreed that Weiss was made of stern stuff and wouldn't give in so easily. Yang hoped they were right. They knew her better than she did. Yang still hadn't really talked to her since she'd save her from Thrax. She'd just been feeling so low and hadn't really felt like seeking anyone out unless she had to. To her relief, the ID checked out to be someone from the Elemental Gang. It looked like they had a lead that could lead them to Weiss's location. When Aqua suggested sending the boys in to round the suspect up, Yang said "I'm coming along. If he tries to run, I wanna get him." Sure, Shadow was probably the fastest on the Others Unit, but Yang felt like this was something she could actually help with. She had no experience when it came to using all the technology and software available at the station. But rounding up a suspect and chasing him down if need be? That was something she could handle.

"Don't just call the boys, Aqua." Sunshine stood up, reaching behind her. The pink and white bomber jacket that Riku had bought for her, insisting it was better than her old ratty peacoat, was flung over her shoulders. Her green eyes were blazing. It was the first time she had really solved a case technically on her own. Aqua and Yang, and even Elsa had helped, but she had done all of this without her more experienced partner. "We're all going. We're a team, and by God, we're going to do this. Together." As she whipped up her pistol and frying pan, she was throwing Shadow into her speed dial. "Shadow, it's Sunshine. We've got a suspect. Yang, Aqua and I are on our way to assist in pursuit."

"I guess we're suiting up." Aqua told Yang. "You should probably let Pitch know."
Aqua cleaned up her desk. She would take care of the trash and things later. Right now, this was the best lead they had to save Weiss. She looked to her phone. She should call Riku. He probably wouldn't want to hear from her exactly, but he would want to know what was going on, but this was the first time he had gotten any rest... Why was it she kept getting put into no-win situations with humans? Damned if she did. Damned if she didn't. But she reached for her phone and rang him up. She had to brief and to the point.
"Riku, we think we've got a lead." she told him before giving him the address and hanging up.
