So apparently Chat had more than one set of people to be looking after. When Sunshine and Shadow last teamed up with Chat, he had mentioned being out for the street people, and had asked if they had been talking about Yang. Admitting defeat, they had said they had been. Now that Yang herself confirmed it, they both could rest easy. And maybe dig into...well...apparently a large was enough for three since Sunshine had devoured all her slices, albeit slowly but she got some food in her belly, and Shadow was working on his last one. He caught a mushroom from falling to the floor, sticking it in his mouth and musing, "Looks like Bellerouge has a guardian angel...not counting the Others Unit."

Yang gave a little laugh. "Yeah, I guess that's one way of describing him," she said. No doubt Chat's ego would get a significant boost if he heard that. Then again, he seemed pretty content with being the city's Robin Hood, and Yang as a Maid Marian/Little John mix. As she ate her last bite of pizza, she asked "So, time to hit up the arcade?" It looked like the pizza was pretty much gone. It looked like it had cheered Shadow and Sunshine up a bit, so Yang considered that part of the mission accomplished.

"Sure." The two of them chorused. As they both looked at one another, red and green eyes matching each other, Sunshine stifled a small giggle. It was rare they spoke at the same time, and every time they did, she lost it. Shadow was "mr grumpy" most of the time. Maybe hanging out with Yang was reminding him of the times with Maria before the...incident.

The lights and dinging of the arcade were the perfect welcome. It wasn't as crowded given home video game co soles were so popular, but there were still some people walking around. Shadow had only gone into an arcade ince, and the less he thought about haunted consoles, the better.
"So," he pulled out his change with a smirk, "who wants their butt kicked in Ninja Combat first?"

It looked like it was game time for Yang and her friends. Luckily, it wasn't too crowded. Plenty of room for two cops and a street kid to hang out. She gave a grin at Shadow's challenge. "Oh, you are so on," she said. "Fighting games are my specialty." Granted, a lot of the moves in games were over-exaggerated and probably couldn't be pulled off in real life. But Yang still liked them. They were straight-forward and the objective was clear: beat your opponent. Other games tended to be complicated in her mind, like ones where you had to solve puzzles in order to get to the next level.

Shadow's eyes got a mischievous gleam in them. Every time he had challenged Sunshine to a fighting game, she would ask for co-op. To go up against someone in a virtual fighting ring was something different. Plus, since he couldn't really fight, this would suffice. "Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you." He slid the change into the slots, picking his fighter and waiting for Yang to put hers in. "You know...since I won't be in the offices for some time, I could train with you if you needed someone to practice with." He would miss the spectre a lot.
Sunshine stood back, fiddling with her own change. Shadow and Yang could duke it out in virtual ninja warrioring, she would try her luck at the ticket slot machines. Chance was something she, for some reason, was incredibly good at. Maybe it was some blessing in being a Seddon that the faery forgot to mention. She slid the coin into the slot, watching it spiral to the red sections of the roulette. As it got closer, she stared at it intently. The coin scooted closer, closer...only to just hit the margin of the two slots. That meant she'd only get half of the allotted tickets. Oh well. The machine cheered as her coin was accepted and she pulled the tickets out, looking for her next chance attempts.

"That sounds like fun," Yang said. She just hoped anywhere they would train was far away from the BPD office. No doubt someone might recognize her as soon as she walked through the front door, like Pitch or Jim. Then things would get really awkward after that. She tended to give the place a wide berth. While she and Shadow went to duke it out with virtual characters, Sunshine tried her luck at some slot machines. Yang had never been good at those, so she was fairly happy to see that Sunshine won at least something. "Keep that up and you can probably trade that for a stuffed animal or something," she said with a grin. Those tended to make up most of the prizes that lay here.

"Don't worry. We can find some place where the rest of the squad won't find you. My apartment's off Riverfront, and it's got several empty areas. Plus. you have two potential babysitters for your kids, Chat and Sunshine." Shadow never once left his eyes from the controls. He had gotten so used to just fighting with fists, that sometimes the buttons were a bit much. That left his character wide open to get hit. "Pft, lucky shot."
"Provided my schedule doesn't get in the way!" Sunshine called over her shoulder. She was rolling skee-balls into the ringed arena. One ball went into the 10 point slot, while three were going into the 20 point slot. The one good thing to come out of police academy gun training? Enhanced hand-eye coordination. A few more tickets and she could be able to to get beyond the cheap rubber bands and candy.

Yang had to laugh at the idea of Chat babysitting. As of right now, her kids didn't know who he was. Yang had just mentioned she had become friends with a cat burglar lately. Although introducing them to him was on her list of things to do. It wasn't like they were going to blab to anyone about him anyway. Although, now that Yang thought about it, she wasn't sure if there was much to blab about. She had no idea who Chat was during the day, or even if Chat was his real name. She jabbed away at the controls for a bit before asking Shadow "Any idea who Chat really is? He hasn't given me many hints." All she knew was that his daily life was unhappy and stifling, but nothing more than that.

"Sunshine can answer that. She managed to take his calling card to forensics to see if they find anything." Shadow answered. But, he had the same questions running through his head. If Chat took this Robin Hood cat burglar thing out only during the night, what was he doing in broad daylight? There was no way he could wear that black outfit in the heat. Yes, it was getting chillier with the fall weather, but that didn't change much.
"AND...I got the results of the test just before we got called to the drug thing, so I haven't had the chance to check my professional emails," Sunshine pouted. "But we have a suspicion that it's someone who's either middle class or high class. You can't have a grudge on people with money AND know what's going on behind closed doors. It's like the saying; keep your friends close but your enemies closer."
"That and his suit doesn't look homemade," Shadow agreed. Homemade costumes were always one of the more interesting ways to identify a criminal in this city. The Riddler, who had been a thorn in the police's side for years, had a pension for green polyester, so finding traces of that led to him.

"Middle or high class huh?" Yang muttered to herself in thought. She wasn't sure how to feel about that. Someone from the high class helping out a poor girl like her? It just didn't sound like something that would happen. She knew there were some good rich people around, but she felt like they were few and far between. Like the police, she wasn't a big fan of the hoity-toity people at the top rung of the ladder. "Middle class sounds like a better bet to me," she said. "Would a rich person really steal from their own to help those of us at the bottom of the pile?" She jabbed away at a few more buttons with one hand while jerking the control stick back and forth with the other. "When I think of rich people attempting to help the poor, it involves making just enough of a donation to the correct charity." Stuff like that didn't tend to help much. Throwing money every so often at organizations only did so much. Not that any of them would help her anyway. Yang tended to stay away from stuff like that. The less people that were snooping around what she was doing, the better.

"Like I said," Sunshine shrugged, "by knowing the hoity toity's demons, he could have a serious advantage. Besides, not all rich folk are bad. Our lawyer Elsa's high class and she'd rather chew aluminum than get involved in some of their attention seeking games."
Shadow was quiet. Sunshine had a good point, but then again, so did Yang. His hand jerked the control stick every which way, almost like he was pacing with it. If Chat was rich, this was a very risky move? Why bother helping out the lower class when it could stain a reputation should news about you being a cat burglar, therefore working outside the law? Middle class wax the safer placement, but then who had time to save up money that could be used for elaborate hacking and weaponry like the arsenal Chat held? Some pieces didn't quite fit. It wasn't until the game cried TANKEN WINS that he was finally able to say something; "Well, you beat me, Yang."
'My turn!" Sunshine shouldered her partner away from the console, greedily gripping the controls and picking a new character.

"Mmm," was all Yang could say in response. So Elsa was one of the few good ones at the top of the ladder. That was good and all, but one good egg didn't stop the rest from being bad. That was half the reason why Yang tended to head to the Lieu Sanglate to pick pockets. The people living there had so much money to throw around, they wouldn't be devastated if Yang snatched a wallet or two. After a few more seconds of playing, she finally managed to beat Shadow, and Sunshine soon took his place. She gave a little smile. "Hope you're ready for a throw-down," she challenged.

"I'll do my best." In truth, Subshine was shaking in her flats. She has never played fighting games, especially not against someone who knew and lived the fighting lifestyle. The closest thing to a battle she sought out was fighting a stubborn loaf of bread out of the oven or a batter gone horribly wrong. That was based on thoughts, not physical fighting.
"Oh, come on, Sunshine, you blew up a vampire," Shadow said reassuringly. "Video games are nothing compared to the field."

"That is more than I've done," Yang said. "I just usually punch people in the face." Blowing up vampires was one experience she didn't have under her belt. And frankly, she wanted to keep it that way. Fighting was one thing, killing was another. It was a line she didn't like to cross. She cracked her knuckles before jabbing away at the buttons.

"Punching works too,"'Sunshine offered. She couldn't press the buttons as quickly was Yang, but she was getting the hang of the combos. This happened when her step brother wasn't a gamer and she didn't grow up with access to technology
