"Well, I figure Shadow's partner is probably a lightning rod. The more misery you stir up, the less attention Disparion is giving to the pack running around" It also gave a chance for murder, thievery and other illegal actions. Constantine hoped Cruella took her chances and thrived in the current chaos. "Maria...I'll look that way" He put his hands in his pockets and began humming as he made his way a short distance from them. Riku bit his lip and looked at Sunshine.
"Are you okay?" he gently asked his wife.

Yang had no response to Sunshine's question. In truth, she'd seen that sort of thing a lot over the years. Maybe not the murder of innocent kids, but she'd seen the system fail plenty of people. Her kids had certainly been victims of adults not helping them when they needed it. She had too. It had only been recently that she'd started to let go of that grudge, and only then, it was because she'd befriended so many people on the Others Unit. She knew the government still had its biases. People like Shadow and Elsa fought against it all the time. Thinking of Elsa reminded her of all her friends who weren't on the Others Unit however, and as Riku went to comfort Sunshine, she cast a glance out towards the city. She hoped the rest of her loved ones were okay. Omar, Jane, Adrien...hopefully, they were somewhere safe.

Sunshine glared at Constantine. A lightning rod? What was that supposed to mean? That she was stirring up trouble and the pack would focus on someone else? Pack made her think of the vampires...and Jasmine. Her clenched fist shook ever so slightly at the memories. She hadn't encountered the psycho vampire lady in a long time, and well, good riddance. He walked away from them and Riku asked if she was okay. The anger Sunshine was feeling was at a full boil. "No, I'm NOT okay!" she snapped. "I'm stressed, I'm scared, I'm angry! I'm all of the above! But right now my feelings shouldn't matter. My best friend is gone. And not just gone as in he went away like last time. I mean gone someplace we can't reach him without doing something extra risky that'll get more people hurt."

Riku sighed and hugged her. She may have been too agitated for a hug, but she clearly needed one. "I...can call Ansem to lead us to him, if it comes to that" he offered hesitantly. Ansem might very well take him over again, but he was willing to chance that if it meant bringing Shadow home and making Sunshine happy. "But what were you planning that might get more people hurt?"

Yang jumped. She couldn't remember the last time she'd heard Sunshine this upset. Of course, she had a good reason. Yang cared about Shadow a lot, but Sunshine had known him even longer than she had. Shadow was closer to her than anybody. Yang could understand why this whole debacle was making her ready to explode. Riku wrapped her up in a hug, which seemed to do some good. However, at the mention of a guy named Ansem, Yang raised an eyebrow. "Ansem?" she questioned, having no idea who the guy was.

Sunshine was too busy glaring at the gravestones ahead to even realize she was being hugged until it was too late. There it was, the smell of honey and bergamot she associated with her husband. She squeezed her eyes and the fattest teardrops she could muster made their way down her cheeks. But cuddling would have to wait. A cemetery was not exactly a great venue, unless you were Gomez and Morticia, who Sunshine could gladly say she was not. "Who's Ansem?" Sunshine asked, echoing Yang's inquiry. Riku had been...hesitant to the say the least about it.

"You remember the dark spirit that possessed me when I was a kid? His name was...Ansem" he was pretty sure he'd told her Ansem's name, but then again maybe not. He was still frightened of the spirit. "I still have a connection to him, I can feel it. It's faint, but if I need to...I can use it to...to call him, and he can guide us through the spirit realm. Hopefully that will lead us to Shadow"

Yang blinked. It was just one revelation after another out here. Shadow being responsible for bringing Disparion around, Riku being possessed by a dark spirit as a kid, the surprises just kept coming. If they ever managed to solve this whole "end of the world" crisis, Yang was going to have to spend some time really processing all this. But, for now, she just had to roll with the punches. "Maybe we should leave that as a last resort," she replied. "There's enough darkness and craziness running around here. Bringing more might be too much to handle." Surely there had to be a safer way finding Shadow. Riku was a powerful guy when it came to voodoo, but if Ansem somehow escaped his control, it could make this situation even harrier.

"I agree with Yang. We already have one demon out here that wants us served medium, we don't need two." That and she didn't want to lose her husband to dark forces. Especially since they spent so long trying to save Weiss from those forces. Sunshine pushed away, staring at the cracks. Something caught her eye bfor the briefest moment. A small petal of a white lily. The flower wasn't on the cusp of ash like most flowers were. Actually, this one was a probably a day or so old.It was a fresh flower. She walked ahead, studying the graves. Most of them had been set up with basic grave attire. Except for one, where a lone white lily lay.
MARIA GERALD
"Guys...I think we found it."

He nodded but inside he was a little frustrated. He was willing to do it, and maybe it would cut down on more lives hurt. "I'm offering it as a last resort anyway" he murmured but let it drop. Constantine came over at Sunshine's call. He looked over at the grave and the flowers.
"Well, that's cute love. But I only know of Shadow, not his story. Who was the girl? Did it end dramatically and sadly? I hope so" he smirked and Riku glared at him.
"You don't have to stay" Riku said.
"Oh I know, I just think you lot are funny and entertaining"

Sunshine seemed to think along the same lines as Yang, and Riku let the matter go. Yang hoped they wouldn't have to resort to bringing Ansem into the mix. She didn't know the details, but he sounded dangerous. Soon enough however, Sunshine found Maria's grave, marked by a single white lily. Yang looked at the headstone. It seemed ordinary enough. The lily was still relatively fresh though, so that had to mean that it was put here recently. Yang wasn't sure if that meant anything, but it was something she noticed. Constantine didn't exactly help the mood, and Yang glared at him along with Riku. "If you're looking for entertainment, go watch a sitcom or something," she quipped.

“You don’t deserve to know her story if you’re going to make comments like that,” Sunshine spat venomously. She wasn’t glaring at Constantine like Yang and Riku. Instead, she was kneeling by the grave. The lily was fresh. Shadow had been here before his action. He was here to pay respects no doubt. She studied the grave and paused. Dirt by the lily was fresh. Using her hands, Sunshine patted the ground. A smudged piece of paper was buried under its contents. The writing was indescribable. She stared at it and frowned. The one clue and she couldn’t even read it. But she knew Shadow had planted it here.
“Riku, Yang, give me some candlelight.”
A document this old wouldn’t react to basic technology like flashlights. That and her sun based magic was drained from no charging.

"Relax" Constantine said calmly. "I'm a demon remember? caring for the dead is a little difficult for us. They usually get reborn as demons or what have you back where we come from" He shrugged. "Pretty sure if someone had asked nicely, the same could have been said of the girl" of course, he would have done something big to compensate for that change in the universe, and the girl would have died again in an equally horrible way. Constantine rolled his eyes and created a bright glowing orb that hovered just above his hand. "A'right, darlin. It won't catch a-flame"
Riku also knelt beside the grave, but he couldn't read what was on the paper. He was about to give her a candle when Constantine decided to be helpful for once.

Yang let out a breath. Constantine's remarks were getting under her skin and she was tense enough as it was. Trying not to lose her temper so easily was something she'd been trying to work on, and she was reluctant to blow up here. However, he gave some light as Sunshine found a piece of paper near Maria's grave. Had Shadow left it behind? It seemed to be the only way to explain it. "What is that? Is it written in code or something?" she asked, peering over Sunshine's shoulder as she tried to get a better look.

Sunshine's hands quaked. Spitting and cussing, as much as she wanted to, were not going to solve the mystery any faster. Constantine may be a demon, but he was excelling at getting under everyone's skin. That and Maria dying twice? If Shadow were here, there would a beatdown going on. Yang asked what the note was. Sunshine exhaled, releasing any aggression she was feeling and studied the writing harder.
"Looks like it is. I'm sure this is the professor's handwriting but..."
Under the firelight, ironically presented by Constantine, something else appeared. A series of calculations and diagrams suddenly emerged. Numbers and codes were scribbled beneath. The ink was almost translucent, and as the heat and flame disappeared, so did the writing.
"Someone get me a ziplock. We may have a possible clue here."
