"Oh, that's easy. Blood of a suitable sacrifice. It looks like life blood, seeing as it comes from a slash to the wrist, where some major arteries are" Constantine commented with interest. "But to start it, or is it to end it? The end of the world is already happening. Your friend seemed to be the proper sacrifice for that particular event, so is he also the key to ending it? Find where he went, offer his blood-though not enough to kill him, it said life blood, it doesn't say all of it-and then maybe a good fight with ye old devil king himself and voila, it's over"
Riku looked at him askance. "I doubt it's that simple, Constantine..." he said.

Sunshine clenched her hand tight in annoyance. Constanstine was speaking so...down to them, like they were first graders looking at an easy to follow picture or a sing a long video. "The eye is rising with the person falling. I think this was a prophecy about the end of the world coming." She looked at the first picture. Life blood. "Maybe it's a symbol that someone with Disparion's blood would bring on the end of the world."

Yang glanced at Sunshine. "Someone like...Shadow maybe?" she suggested. It made sense. If it was prophesized that someone with Disparion's blood would bring about the end of the world, then Shadow certainly fit the bill. He was practically Disparion's son. Constantine seemed to think the same thing. He also seemed to think that maybe if Shadow's blood brought Disparion, maybe it could be used to send him back. Yang wondered if it would be that easy though. Riku certainly didn't seem to think so. "That would be a decent plan," she said, "if we knew where to find him." If Shadow's blood was the key to all this, then they needed to figure out where he was.

"If I know anything about magical ceremonies, of any and all sorts, if there's a way to do it, there's a way to undo it" Riku said, and Constantine shrugged.
"Demon ceremonies are a little more tricky" Constantine said. "Blood sacrifice is the least of it. I've gotten some experiences where the person was taken body and soul to a shadowy dimension, sort of like purgatory? They Forget everything about who they were and just live there, as shadows. Tried getting someone out once"
"You? playing heroics?" Riku asked with some disbelief. Constantine shrugged again.
"It was a child of someone I owed. The girl was stupid and made a deal with a demon and the twelve year old daughter was carried off to the purgatory state. By the time I got there it was too late, the little girl was a shadow and the demon was gone"

Sunshine looked at the mural and then at Yang. Yes. Disparion's DNA was in Shadow. No other texts talked about the freak siring any kids. At least, kids that weren't stillborn or had...pretty much anything bad that could happen to a child happen. Shadow was the only living 'heir'. "That would explain why Shadow wouldn't want us getting involved. He knew that if we tried to stop Disparion, we'd be killed." She frowned. A part of her wanted to keep the promise she made to Shadow, that she wouldn't try to rescue him, yet Constantine mentioned something big. Her eyes widened, looking back at Constantine. "Wait, did you say purgatory? Maybe Shadow's in there. But...again..." she sighed, "getting there isn't going to be so easy."

Yang sighed. She knew Shadow meant well by keeping all this a secret. The guilt would eat him alive if any of his friends got hurt while trying to stop this prophecy from happening. Still, part of her wished she could have tried. Yang didn't like going down without a fight. It just wasn't her style. However, Constantine had a guess as to where Shadow was: purgatory. "Yeah, I don't think any witch or wizard could make a portal and send us there," she said. She knew some magicians that could use them to travel from place to place. But it used up a lot of magic power. Getting to purgatory would probably use even more, since it wasn't even a physical location on Earth. "But I'm not scared of a little purgatory. Find a way there and I'll get Shadow myself if I have to."

Constantine smiled grimly. "I've almost lost myself there, it's a dangerous place. Perhaps if we find someone who can commune to spirits, it would perhaps be safer for now? That way no-one can lose themselves body and soul to that land of shadows and lost chances" Riku thought about it and shrugged.
"Calling spirits isn't my forte but I can try, though I make no promises about actually getting Shadow. I usually try for whoever's closest in the area, if people really make me speak with the dead" voodoo did deal with the dead, sometimes, but more as a way to purify or use their energies. Talking to them was another matter entirely.

Sunshine ran a hand through her hair. Purgatory was all the more pleasant the more they talked about it. One foot in and you could be damned for all eternity or Disparion could make mincemeat or a puppet out of you. It was a "so close and yet so far" scenario for them. They knew where Shadow was, but trying to reach him would be something else. She pulled out her communicator and sent out a call to the others in the Others Unit.
"Detective Seddon to Others Unit. We have located possible...agendas from the main adversary." Saying the demon's name out loud would no doubt summon him. "We're returning to the base with possible clues. Be on standby. Over and out."
After announcing the big lead, Sunshine snapped a picture of the mausoleum's ceilings. Who knew if it would disappear in time? Right now, it would be their only clue for now. That and solving a whole other case; how to get to purgatory without getting scratched. That and figuring out some of the clues Shadow had left behind for them to follow when it came to the professor. ((end thread))
